In short...I feel in love with BCV. Compared with BLT, the room size was ridiculously bigger (and the layout actually made sense - LOL). I also thought that the decor was just beautiful, and my DD gave the pool a double thumbs up. Unfortunately, the only pictures I took were on my iPhone so I can't post them, but I did get a lovely sunset shot that will be my constant reminder of how I can't wait to get back. All the wonderfulness of BCV aside, I will say that the 40 minute bus ride to MK (from the time we got to the bus stop to the time we actually entered MK) made me realize that, while BCV is lovely, it won't ever replace our lovely home resort BLT.

We also found that we loved BCV and it moved to our 2nd favorite place. But, as you mention, there is nothing that beats BLT for getting to/from MK.

It is our favorite park so our trips will always included a BLT stay! So glad you had a great trip!

We  BCV as well! I keep looking at small BCV resale contracts but for now we just hope to get it at 7 months out. I think at this point our kids are more into Epcot & DHS than MK so it's moved to the top of our list (although the MK will always be my first love). To be within walking distance to the International Gateway is priceless! Sounds like you had a great trip :goodvibes

We just did the opposite - stayed at BLT for the first time, and we own at BCV. We loved walking to the MK from BLT, but our monorail ride back from EPCOT took over an hour. We were wishing that we could just walk home to BCV from the International Gateway! We are more EPCOT people than MK people, so BCV suits our needs better than BLT!

BCV was our 1st DVC Home resort. We love the 5 minute walk to EPCOT. We added on to BLT for the cenvenience of walking to MK & being on the monorail. We love both for different reasons.
I love the room decor of the BCV best... BWV is very comparable in that area.

Come on. The real question is:

Did you walk over to that gorgeous building across the water? :rotfl2: You know I'm on the edge of my seat Crystal. :lmao:

We love BCV as well but own at BLT. Nothing better than a split stay between the 2 resorts.

We stayed at BCV before we became DVC members. Although I liked the resort, there were a few things that bothered me. First, was the fact that there was a very poor selection of QS food available. Second, was the buses being shared with 4 other resorts (BWV, Swan, Dolphin, and YC). Last, there is really no good view in BCV. We did not get to swim at SAB very much since we were there during a rather chilly January, but we did enjoy one day in the water.

When we finally decided to buy, I knew I had to have BLT. First, you just can't beat the location if you are MK fans, which we are. Second, having the MK bus depot so close provides direct buses to any of the resorts. Lastly, I actually like the decor of BLT. It is different than anything we have at home. You see, when you grow up on the East Coast, the turn-of-the-last-century beach theme has really been overdone for us.

If you can only use the points from that hotel's contract when booking at 11 months, and cannot combine them with points from other resorts until 7 months out, what is the benefit in buying a small point amount?

:rotfl: - - no I didn't, but when I looked over across the water and saw it, it was like the heavens opened up and angels started singing. It *is* marvelous! *Sigh* - - one day we'll get to say that we actually stayed there. :rolleyes1

You could bank/borrow and book a trip every other year at the 11 month window, so you are guaranteed to get in, especially during Food & wine Fest, etc.

Hi Crystal_27,
Thanks for sharing about your trip. Glad to hear you had a great time at BC. I agree it is a wonderful resort. The pool is fantastic and the location is not to be beat. :thumbsup2 The great thing about DVC is you can stay at different resorts as well as be reminded how great your home resort is. :yay: Thanks again for sharing.
