A blast of artic cold this weekend, what is everyone planning?

Our high on Sunday is going to be -2. Our low is -20 to -30 (not counting wind chill). We have had measurable snow almost every day since December 1.

I am just hoping my car is going to start!

LOL...yep...we already have a 2 hour late start tomorrow (found at at 1:30 today)...If we are finding out a day in advance you know its cold...lol...this is only the 2nd late start due to weather we have had here in Hudson since we moved here 3 1/2 yrs ago ...we've only closed maybe 4 times in that time as well...due to extreme cold (God forbid we get an actual snow day once in a dang while...we didn't even get one for the huge storm that dumped 20 inches back in Dec...).

I was surprised though that they delayed already, DD and I were at Walmart earlier and while, yes it was pretty dang cold, it didn't seem any worse than it's been. Guess our blood has finally thickened up !! lol

I saw that and all I can think of is "wimps" . My parents are here visiting and we were talking that when we were growing up we walked to school. We got a ride ONLY if it was colder than -10 . I grew up in Stillwater so basically where you are now. I can see in the real outlying areas where kids mostly live on farms and have 1/2 mile walks down driveways to buses but you are still in the "metro" area for the most part. The only time I can remember schools being closed was about 15 years ago when the governor closed all the schools in the state when it was -60 AIR temps-not wind chills.

Meh... not here. It was 60 degrees yesterday and will hover in the low 50s and high 40s for the next several days. We've had one of the warmest and driest winters on record. I've only had to scrape ice from my windshield in the morning about 5 times this fall/winter season so far.
