Snow coming in again tonight, with colder temps following. Our weekend high will only be in the 20's :scared1::scared1: I took out a 13.5 lb. turkey that I picked up on sale in Nov. I am going to make a nice roasted turkey dinner with all the fixin's. Pumpkin pie for dessert! :cool1::rotfl2:

Staying inside and doing some scrapbooking, reading and tv watching. It's to darn cold to want to anywhere. We are staying in! Enjoy your weekend.

Sounds wonderful! We are getting snow and frigid temps but activities march on with 3 kids, I long for the days of being cozy at home in weather like this!

Enjoy!

nothing different, unless we get way more snow than is currently forecast.....I would love to curl up cozy with a book, but had a stomach bug earlier this week and need to do some catching up. Need to do some shopping and cleaning sadly. (just checked - high Sun is forecast as 3! Didn't bother to check wind chills!!!!)

everyone stay warm and enjoy the weekend!!!:):wizard:

We are supposed to have lows in the-20 range, plus windchills in the -40 range tomorrow-Sunday, highs around zero. We are warming up into the 20's next week which is pretty warm for January in MN. It's funny because, it's Jan in MN, these temps are NOT all that cold for us but by the news reports you would have thought we were in the ice ages. Usually this week we have HIGHs in the -10 range with lows in the -30's. :lmao:

We had a little ice storm last night, nothing major but enough that school (work for me) was canceled today. Just made stew and brownies and we are going to watch movies and I'm going to catch up on everyone's trip reports.
I think I love snow days now even more than when I was a kid!

Hoping we get plenty of snow the rest of the week because I'm going snowshoeing on Saturday or Sunday. Our highs will be in the teens both days but I've gotten used to it at this point.

Highs in the 20 would be tshirt and shorts weather around here. We are in the below zero range and are going down to the negative double digits tonight. Plus, with the gusting wind they are predicting (30mph), it is to feel like -40 or so. However, life goes on as if nothing is different. Just need to dress for it and remember that this is the price we pay to have the best summers in the world.

Aw, I'll sit around worrying about my kid who works outside all weekend (ski lift operator). It's a momma thing.

We're going to the barn and going riding. Of course it won't be as long as planned but we need to get on the horse!! This winter has been too dang cold and long already.

DH will be preparing and then watching the Bears/Packers game (he is a Bears fan) then DS will do the same for the Jets/Steelers game (he is a Jets fan)
I plan on doing more clearing out of the house...tackling closets and mudroom. The basement needs it desperately but too cold to hang out down there all weekend...
THEN taxes and FAFSA for DD again.

Tiling the bathroom tub/shower wall on Saturday

Steelers vs. Jets on Sunday.

GO STEELERS!!

This is my mantra this time of year. I put up with these -40 temps b/c the spring/summer/fall make up for it.

I would welcome 20 as a high.

We're supposed to get some snow starting this evening, hopefully not a lot, but we'll see. DS10 has a soccer game on Saturday (indoor, thank goodness) and a basketball game after that, and hopefully we're staying in and warm the rest of the weekend.

golfgal, my husband and I once drove from Minneapolis to North Dakota in February and I never experienced such cold in my life! When it got up to 20 degrees, people there were joking that it was a heatwave! I give you folks in Minnesota a ton of credit for being so adaptable to the extreme cold! I don't know how the Ingalls family did it way back when!

LOL...yep...we already have a 2 hour late start tomorrow (found at at 1:30 today)...If we are finding out a day in advance you know its cold...lol...this is only the 2nd late start due to weather we have had here in Hudson since we moved here 3 1/2 yrs ago ...we've only closed maybe 4 times in that time as well...due to extreme cold (God forbid we get an actual snow day once in a dang while...we didn't even get one for the huge storm that dumped 20 inches back in Dec...).

I was surprised though that they delayed already, DD and I were at Walmart earlier and while, yes it was pretty dang cold, it didn't seem any worse than it's been. Guess our blood has finally thickened up !! lol
