A bit lost here

I have been away a bit recently due to many things, including going for a voluntary redundancy at work. Anyway that is done and dusted so i am trying to catch up here.

What is happening with people lke Obi and Richard, there seems to be some issues going on here. I am in no position to question anyone but a thread like this one:

Obi is like me a big aviation fan and helped many peeps on here, what happened to have threads closed on the simple point of questioning why he left?

Can someone elaborate?

Ive noticed theres a few people don't really bother posting anymore, myself included. Hard to say why, I guess people have their own differing reasons...some leaving after having fall outs, and some for other reasons like no spare time etc etc....
For me though, it was a combination of a few things, firstly no holiday booked so didnt feel the need to discuss anything Disney (although Im back to Orlando in 3 weeks, hence me looking in a couple of times recently), but another reason for me was the place seemed almost to me to be not as friendly as it used to be, perhaps even to the point of becoming a bit cliquey (ive probably spelt that wrong)....difficult for me to explain really...dont get me wrong, I never fell out with anyone or anything, just got the feeling no-one was particularly interested in anything I had to say (and who could blame them).....so I just didnt bother saying anything and my visits became less and less frequent. I only really check the trip planning these days.
Just remember...."things change....people change...interest rates fluctuate"

I must say I plan to pull out as well, I have been posting on the Dis for many years, but some things have got to me in the last few days, its a pity as I enjoy helping people, and meeting people, but its time to move on.

Must say its not the UK-Dis, but other areas.

Started to restrict myself to the Cruise meets thread of the August repo only and then pull out.

Obi and Richard put in a lot of work here and its a pity they are not around or if there was any issues, they couldn't have been sorted out.

I do think the Dis has changed and i really don't know what happend with the other posters, but compared to other boards and forums (non-disney) i think the dis is still a nice place. People are going to agree/disagree because that's just differences in opinions. I go both on here and the main community board as i like doing the exchanges and i know people on both.

People come and go on the DIS Boards, all of the time for all different reason's.

These threads serve no purpose other than for people to start speculating on the reasoning behind it. Threads such as this have caused upset in the past where people have been away for genuine reasons only to come back and find all manner of things posted about them, that were not true. Therefore these threads will always be closed.

I am sad that people think that the UK CB is cliquey, There are going to be groups of friends within any community that may be closer than others, that may see each other 'in real life'. I hope that people are not ignored or excluded in ANY thread. Maybe you think you are being excluded, but if you join in on those threads you would find that you would be welcomed.

I want us here on the UK CB to move away from these types of threads and go back to the strong community we were. Please be aware that forums do have rules and guideline's that we need to adhere too though, some people will not like them and move on, some will embrace them and stay.

So come on guys lets get back to sharing stories, experiences, supporting each other, celebrating and just having fun!!!
