A Baptism, MNSSHP, & FD...sweating our way through 6 days at POP!! Completed!

No, I haven't yet...

My son is really having a hard time with math this morning, so I'm back and forth between the computer and his book.

Going now to read the next update now...

OK, I"m seriously starting to hate sharing a computer with my kids. And I hate it even more when they don't log out, and I forget to check!!

No, my 16 year old does not have children of her own! HA!

Not a good sign when you see a boat load of bad off looking people arrive. Your daughter is now #1,324, sir.

Really hoping this is going to get better, not worse. Regardless, what a crappy way to start off your morning!

I was glad to see that CS breakfasts are enough to share. That frees up credits for more tantalizing morsels for later.

Yes, he had to buy a fake-o one for a bit and have a friend break into his house to find the real one.
Oh that's a great story!!!! That is something you NEVER forget!

LOL I knew it was you. This is happening more and more. It think it is funny.

There was a kid laying across one of the couches. He didn't look good. About 6 other families with sick people. Then more kids and adults streaming in. I was purell-ing my hands every time I touched anything.

I really think you could split 3 breakfasts between 2 people with no problem... especially if you have the refillable mugs. You would get 4 drinks and use your mug for coffee.

You are an updating monster!!:rotfl2: I don't know if I could do as good as you have!!

Those Pop food court pictures, oh my!:scared1: I've never seen it so crowded before. It doesn't look like the recession has hit Pop!

I'm glad to hear that the pediatrician didn't think it was too serious. You can never be too careful, though.

I can't wait to find out how the baptism went!

Great updates!

I'm glad to her Juliana was OK - that's scary when you're away from home and a child gets sick.

Can't wait to hear all about the baptism - the kids are darling, looks like they had a great time playing together!!

I HATE coming in late to the party!! :cool1:

(I was patiently eating popcorn in the PreTrip thread!! :rotfl2: all alone I might add!! Thank Goodness I saw the link! :rotfl2:)

1. WOW that was a BAD VIEW - you need to learn how to whine and complain, or at least SCMOOZE for goodness sake!

THis was the view from our room at Pop!!
IMG_0695-1.jpg

I have paid the extra $10 a night for preferred room (I'm partial to Lady and The Tramp) But after reading about the rooms closer to the end of the bus stop - I thought I'd chance it!! This was in the Roger Rabbit (I have no memory of section!)

and I prefer Pop over the mods!! (It has to be said!!)

I wouldnt put up with being close to the elevator or ice machine - not even if I pay thru priceline -

and I have to agree - Julianna is adorable - and Melody is quite the mom! My goodness Mel is adorable in her own right!! I can understand if she doesnt want to run 13 or 26 miles!!

(and I'll keep my fingers shut about the tickets :rolleyes1)

and I also keep purell handy - it does skeeve me out if we have to hit an emergency care center!! That H1N1 stuff is nothing to mess around with! I've been listening to the TV with people that have had it - it starts with people that have asthma, or low resistance! :scared1: and they are often mis diagnoses with a bronchitis and sent on their way - when the fluid is building up ON THE OUTSIDE of their poor lungs!! :scared1:

Good Dad, Good Mom - listen to your dd, and that voice within! :wizard:

Tim, the update is great -- as always. I hope the benadryl worked for Juliana and am looking forward to the next installment. Have a great day. :)

Great update. I was thinking allergies too when I read about her cough. It has been really high this year. (pollen count) I was also thinking the lady like picture looked like she might have been digging for gold as well. Claire seems to have leanred that "technique" as well. UGH!!! :scared1: You guys are getting alot done in a small amount of time already too.
I love the Pop breakfasts. We never eat in the food court though. I'm usually up first, and I go and bring it back to the room or sit out by the pool and eat it (and journal while I eat) My lazy crew likes to sleep in at Disney.
Speaking of lazy crew, Claire just woke up (yes it is 11:30). :rolleyes1

The baby is 4 months old. Juliana did really good with him, very gentle and caring. princess: She would be a great big sister someday in the far future! LOL

It funny that you write about forgetting something. I remember Melody saying to me when we were putting the final few things in the car- If we forget something we will just buy it! I don't think she meant our park ticket though! LOLOL:lmao::rotfl2:

no, she probably wasn't thinking park ticket- although if you had ended up buying a new one... you might have had an excuse for another trip...

juliana has lost that baby look and is really starting to look like a big girl! she's so freakin cute!

so just how bad is the "nescrap" as i've seen it referred

I am VERY thankful...for once...to be late for a party!

The suspense over the TICKETS...and the COUGH...would have just been too much!

So...how did I miss that you started this? I evidently can't read. :sad2:

Love the report so far. Great pics!!! I wish you would find TK!!

I don't really post on the weekend so I try to get 1 or 2 updates a day! I guess I could draw it out longer... but that wouldn't be nice now, would it. LOL:rotfl2:

I think the FD had people living it up in that food court!!! I think the values were very busy last week!

Great updates!

She was OK but if you heard the cough... we felt bad for her. The baptism is coming up!:goodvibes

Sandy I'm glad you made it!!!!!! How is my PTR doing anyways? I've been ignoring it. Check it out.. I did post of video of the snow... yes SNOW from today. It is still snowing now and my deck and lawn are already covered! They said 1-3 inches in the hills starting tonight. I'm not totally in the hills and my clock says 3:20...:confused3

I didn't really care about the view. It wasn't like we were going to be spending a lot of time at the room. I thought it was funny when I saw it and I knew all my DIS friends would like it too!:rolleyes1

You had an awesome view BTW!!!!!!!!!

Melody never made it to the Hartford Marathon. It was just too much after just getting home. She is running in a 5K on Sunday though for a benefit.

That (H1N1 and our own peace of mind) is why we went to the walk-in center. Juliana has an immune deficiency that she had from either when she was born or from her going through chemo. The doctors don't know for sure. It is a milder deficiency but she is still more prone to getting sick.

Tim, the update is great -- as always. I hope the benadryl worked for Juliana and am looking forward to the next installment. Have a great day. :)
Hey Kathy!! Thanks for the tag!!! I just need to find a spot in my siggy to fit it!!! LOL The benadryl worked... and it didn't. More to come about that....

I think Juliana was just rubbing her nose with her thumb. She tends to do that often along with picking at her lips. :sad2:

With only 5 nights and family obligations, we were always on the go!!!!

I wasn't close enough to bring it back... well I guess i could of. That might be fun for next time. Even breakfast at the pool!

I can't remember the last time I slept till 11:30... I know it was before Julina came along though!! LOLOL

I don't drink coffee. Well that's not entirely true... only Kona coffee. I asked Mel how it was. The one time she said not bad, the next time she said it was burnt and nasty!

My baby is growing up. I can't believe in 5 months she will be 4!:goodvibes

I am VERY thankful...for once...to be late for a party!

MAROO!!!!! The only problem with coming late is you miss all the drama. Well most of it:rolleyes1

It OK you are here now. I'm going to see if I can get another update up before Juliana wakes up from her nap!

I've seen many people complain here on the DIS about how the Moderate Resorts are so spread out. We did more walking here to our car and bus stops than we ever did when we stayed at Coronado Springs in March. If you are ever thinking about staying at a Mod, do it! Sorry:sad2:... back to the story! We were in the 80's building and it felt like we had a crazy-long walk to our room. The only time we really minded, though, was when we were rushing to catch a bus. Glad to know that the walking at Mod's isn't worse.

We found our room 6348. It was a third floor room in the 70's section facing the lake right across from the ice-machine and next to the elevators. I had requested a 60's 4th floor room facing Epcot. Oh well, we didn't get what I wanted but honestly I didn't care. I was just happy to be at POP! Here is our great view from the door of our room.:sad2: Maybe I can enter this into the worst room view thread?:confused3
That stinks that they didn't give you even close to what you requested. That view is terrible. :sad2:

We opened the door and what did I notice first????? Two paper bags full of goodies from Mommy2LittleVols that were already delivered. One bag was full of water and juice. The next bag had chips, animal crackers, 2 bags of goldfish, cookies, glowsticks, glowwands, a coloring book, crayons, & TP. There was also an unopened 8 pack of paper towels and a fan spray bottle (God knows, we used it!! LOLOL). Thank you so much Julia!!!! We really appreciated everything you left us!!!! You are SO welcome!! I'm so glad that you guys were able to use what we had leftover!

Sorry I'm late to the party! I haven't been on the boards in over a week! :scared1: Oh my goodness about the tickets!! Glad you figured out a solution that didn't involve you having to pay for new ones. Love all the pics of Ana so far. She is adorable! That is kind of weird that she started coughing your first night at Pop. Dakoda did the same thing! He had a little bit of a cough leftover from a cold, but woke up coughing his head off the very first night we were there, and just about every night after. He actually coughed so much that he threw up a couple of times. Did it happen to Juliana again at all after that first night? Strange...

We arrived at the church and started walking to the door when we saw Melody's cousin and the family getting out of their car. We walked in together and found a seat. The church was huge and it already was getting filled up. I was holding Juliana and about 1/2 way through mass, she fell asleep on me. Mass had ended and she was still sleeping. Melody had to go in the back to do her 'Godmother duties' and get ready for the baptism with her cousin and CW. The rest of the family and friends moved up to the front of the church and I was sitting all by my self with Juliana sleeping on me. I didn't dare move because I didn't want her to wake up.....not after the horrible night of sleep she had.

Juliana continued to sleep until just before the baptism started, then we moved up front. For some reason my pictures didn't come out very well. I think my camera wasn't set up correctly for the lighting. :confused3

By the time we were done it was 2:30. We headed over to Mel's cousin's house for a party. The heat slapped us once we walked out of the church. It was close to 90 degrees.

We took the short ride back to the house and had lunch. Juliana and CS were playing again!

They got Melody a nice picture and frame for being the godmother.

CW has been taking cake decorating classes and made the cake herself! It was really good!!

Mel's cousin and the family were going to join us Monday at MK. So we were going to see them again the next day. We hung out at the house until 6:15 and then gathered up all of stuff. We said our goodbyes and we were headed to DTD. We had a 7:00 ADR at Raglan Rd...........

Great update(s) Sorry about the cough. We had to use allergy meds when we were there as well. Most days here too.
The baptism looked nice! Did you say nap? Ans he will be 4 soon. Wow,enjoy that both my kids stopped napping around 2 and a half. Though Cayley will occasionally take one.

What an honor to be chosen as a Godparent! Shari and I need to sit down and decide one of these days who we would want to take care of the kids if something happened to us. We just don't have much family to pick from and the family we do have are not all the type of parents we would want.

The cake looked great for someone who had just taken clases. Thumbs up to her!

Waiting for more when you get time!popcorn::

Oh how beautiful your ladies are! :lovestruc

Did the Benadryl do the trick for Juliana and help her? I don't blame you one bit for taking her to the clinic! Better to be safe about it and have peace of mind! You're right - how scary to see everyone else so sick and I feel sorry for all of those families too! I would be bathing in Purrell! :rotfl2:

You're doing such a great job, by the way....

Heather

A beautiful picture of Mel and her Godchild; and I love Juliana's dress...she looks so "grown up" dad!
