A Baptism, MNSSHP, & FD...sweating our way through 6 days at POP!! Completed!

While I have never stayed at Pop, we have visited there and walked around the resort. Like you said, a lot of folks complain about how much you have to walk at the mods (mostly CBR and CSR) but I can honestly say that we don't walk at the CBR as much as we did when we visited Pop.

At least your room view was of healthy green trees and shrubs, could have been all ugly ones or a parking lot.;)

What a treat to have another Diser leave you some goodies for your trip! I am sure the fan came in quite handy.

Oh man, that room view was sucky! :guilty: But overall, looks like it was a nice room.

Aw how nice to have goodies waiting there for you! The DIS is such a nice family! :)

Do you recommend using the safe? Has there been known problems in the past with the maids/things getting stolen?

Well...the view wasn't the hottest, but those gifts you were left are sweet! :thumbsup2 How nice of that family!

Nice update. That bathroom sure is tiny! Can't wait to see more pics of POP...hopefully with a nicer view. ;)
I didn't know how much I would miss a bigger bathroom, 2 sinks, and the sliding doors of CSR... But we saved over $500 staying at POP. We are only in the room to sleep anyways, but I will have some more thoughts on this later. ;)

Honestly, the only time I worry about my car is when we arrive and when we leave....we tend to not go outside WDW property, so we just use the buses. Crazy, I know.:lmao:
We needed the car... its nice having to get to 'certain' places like what is going to happen tomorrow (10/4).

We walked at CSR from 8B to the Pepper Market, the dig site and around the lake. I didn't think it was that bad. Our car was right out of the door, and the quiet pool was around the corner. Maybe I am turning into a resort snob! LOLOL:snooty:

At least the trees gave our room a little shade! :rotfl::beach:

I might have to PM Mommy2LittleVols... I haven't seen her on here since we've been back......

The room was clean, which is the most important thing. We actually came back to the room one day when the maid was just finishing up vacuuming.

When we were at CSR I just left my computer out on the desk. I figured I'd just shove it in the safe this time. I usually put extra money in it so I don't have to carry around $100's in the parks. I don't know of any problems though.

Well...the view wasn't the hottest, but those gifts you were left are sweet! :thumbsup2 How nice of that family!
Julia is the best!!! It was so unexpected!

Juliana loved the spray bottle. It was keeping her cool!:sunny:

Great Start! I am in :thumbsup2 Loving all the pics - except for the one with your Yankees Shirt ;) (hee hee)

We stayed at Pop once with the whole family and then the next trip we stayed at POR and I said never a value again.... We like to relax and spend lots of time at the hotel... BUT, that being said, The Values are still really nice and when you just need a clean room to sleep in then paying for the Mod's or Deluxes can be painful!!

I had to wear my Yankees shirt. We were going to visit Mel's cousin who is die hard Sox Fan!

Don't get me wrong. I liked POP, I just like CSR better.;) Plus this trip wasn't in our plans for the year, so we saved a bit of $ by staying here.:goodvibes

We took the walk over to the parking lot and started driving. We passed CBR and Downtown Disney. I wish we had more time, I would have liked to see CBR. The pool area looks cool from the pictures I have seen on the DIS. We drove for about 35 minutes and we arrived at Melody's cousin's house.

Melody's cousin-MC Cousin's wife-CW Cousin's Son-CS Cousin's Baby-CB

When Juliana and CS saw each other they immediately starting playing. It was like they just saw each other yesterday and continued on. CB was sleeping so we had to wait to see him. The kids started doing some crafts.

While the kids were still working CB woke up. We got to see CB for the first time in person and he is really cute.. big too!

DSCN1350.jpg

The kids were done with their project and were showing them off.

CW made us a great dinner. We had pasta with fresh tomatoes, garlic, and basil, salad, and garlic bread. If I would have taken a picture of dinner, would of it been rude? :lmao: The kids ate most of their pasta and had cupcakes for dessert.:woohoo: Juliana basically eats just the frosting off of cupcakes, then she is done with them. LOL

After dinner Juliana got a chance to hold the baby.

DSCN1354.jpg

The kids continued playing... and they were getting sillier!

DSCN1361.jpg

It was time to get Juliana and CS to calm down so CW put Finding Nemo on for them. Juliana is being a lady in this picture!!! :rotfl:

DSCN1364.jpg

It was getting late, and we had a long day of travel. We said our goodbyes and we headed back to POP. We were going to see them the next day (Sunday) for the baptism.

We got back to the resort about 8:30 and saw the Rubix Cube glowing!

DSC06041-1.jpg

We arrived at the room and got Juliana cleaned up. She was in bed by 9 and I sneaked out to see if I could see any fireworks. I walked down our hallway then up the the 4th floor. I was able to see this in the distance.

DSC06043-1.jpg

I'm not sure if it was Illuminations? But there wasn't many fireworks. There was a big yo-yo in the distance.

DSC06044-1.jpg

I was out till 9:20.. when I got back in the room Melody and Juliana were already sleeping. I was tired myself so I drifted off to sleep. At around 11, I woke up to Juliana coughing. While I was listening to her cough I could hear people running up and down the halls, getting ice, and screaming. She coughed for almost an hour then it finally stopped. She had a cold a few weeks ago and she has had a little cough but nothing like this. At 3am it started again.. another hour of coughing. She kept sleeping on her back and she really doesn't know how to clear her throat. She just coughs. We got her to drink water but it didn't help. Melody moved over to her bed to hold her and to try to get her to calm down. I fell back asleep and only heard a random cough for the rest of the night.

Tomorrow an unexpected stop, the Baptism, a party, & DTD!........

Quite impressive Hula Hoopin'!!

i'm not goign to harp on you forgetting the tickets- instead, i'm just goign to start panicking about what i may forget. hopefully it will be easily remedied too.

how old is the baby now? did juliana do well with him? won't she be a great big sister when she gets her chance someday?

The baby is 4 months old. Juliana did really good with him, very gentle and caring. princess: She would be a great big sister someday in the far future! LOL

It funny that you write about forgetting something. I remember Melody saying to me when we were putting the final few things in the car- If we forget something we will just buy it! I don't think she meant our park ticket though! LOLOL:lmao::rotfl2:

Looks like we posted at the same time on page 1, me with a simple "welcome back" and you finding out you had a ticket emergency! Thank goodness that worked out OK!

 I vote YES, taking photos of the entree would have been rude :lmao:

Looks like Juliana and CS got along well! The photo of her holding the baby is adorable :goodvibes

Now I'm wondering if you find out what the screaming on the hall was all about... Hope Juliana was feeling better soon!

Aww...those pictures of the kids are so cute! I'm glad they get along so well too! :)

Oh no, the coughing - I don't like where this is going! It reminds me of our night/morning before leaving! My DS rarely coughs and had been just fine. We put him to bed at 6:40pm since he had to get up at 3:30am for our crack of dawn flight. :rotfl2: Throughout the night I heard him cough a few times and at first I just overlooked it but by the fourth time, I'm starting to get concerned - enough that by 1:40am I had stressed myself out over it enough to not be able to go back to sleep until 3:00am! :rotfl: He was just fine and didn't have any issues and we think it was just from using a different fan in his room (for white noise) since we had packed his already! I sincerely hope your sweetie wasn't coming down with something and this has nothing to do with where you drove?? :confused3

I love the Juliana acting like "a lady" picture--too cute. The baby is adorable. And what do you mean "in the far future?" You're not getting any younger, you know? :rotfl2:

Hmm not the best view. J and the BC were sure cute together. Far furture huh.....I hope the cough turns out to be nothing. Did the noise in the halls keep you awake??

So far so good with the tickets.:rolleyes1

Thinking back I could of took a picture of everyone eating at the table or of Juliana and CS sitting next to each other. I could of got the food in there. LOL

It was just people being loud and inconsiderate. It wasn't like a fight or anything.

I'm going to update the start of Sunday.. you'll see.

Well I mean like not this month!!! LOLOL:rotfl:

I wouldn't say they kept me awake, I can can basically sleep through anything. But being awake, they did seem loud. A few times it sounded like there was a marathon going on outside the room!

Ha, looks like Juliana had some fun! Love the lady-like pic of her. I wish you would've taken a pic of that food because it sounds GOOD! LOL

Aw, poor girl. I hate having the coughs during the night. Hope it wasn't like this for her the whole trip.

We didn't set an alarm and woke up about 7:30. Juliana woke up and started coughing again. Not as bad as at night but it was bothering us. We threw some clothes on and walked over to Everything POP for some breakfast. On the way we stopped for a few pictures.

DSC06047.jpg

We were in the food court about 8:15 and it was a mad house. There were people everywhere and long lines once again. Here is a few pics of the people.

Here is everyones favorite coffee. LOL

DSC06054.jpg

DSC06055.jpg

We used 2 CS credits for breakfast. The 3 of us split a regular pancake and a chocolate chip pancake. We got 4 drinks... a chocolate milk for Ana, a coffee for Mel, an OJ for me, and a water that we split. I love how you can use CS for adult meals. There usually is enough food to split. Food Pics!

After we finished eating, we took a stroll over to the pool. Juliana had to try out the chair.

We left the pool and took a stroll near the lake back to our room. Juliana still was coughing every once in a while.

We walked the rest of the way back to the room and Juliana was still coughing. She didn't look sick and she didn't have a fever, but she was sniffling every once in a while, usually starting her coughing again. Once at the room, we pulled out the phone book to find the closest walk-in center. There was one on S. Apopka Vineland Rd., right past DTD, outside the Disney gate. We told them we would be there soon. We got ready for church, which started at 12:15, with the baptism to follow.

We were ready and headed off to the clinic. We were there by 10:15 and we filled out the necessary paperwork, payed our co-pay, and sat to wait... and wait,, and wait. Melody and Juliana were in dresses and I had on kakis and a button up shirt. Great attire for sitting in a walk in center. :sad2: There were a few sick people waiting there already.... then it was like a bus pulled up. One after another, people were walking in. A few people looked really bad.

We knew this would take a while and we were trying to figure out our plan if we couldn't get out in time. The walk-in has a shuttle and Melody asked if it could drop her off at the church- about a 15 minute drive away. That way I could stay with Juliana to be seen and keep the car and carseat with me. About 11, I asked Melody if we should call the pediatrician at home. They have Sunday hours and were open by now. For those who don't know Juliana has had some health issues and we don't mess around when she gets sick. The pediatrician said it just sound like a post nasal drip and recommended giving her children's benadryl. He also said that if her symptoms got worse to bring her back to the clinic, but he didn't think it was too serious.

Melody went up to the counter and told them the situation. They refunded our co-pay and said they would keep the paper work on file in case we had to come back. It was 11:20 by this time and we headed over to CVS to get Juliana's medicine. We arrived at the church at 12 and saw Melody's family just getting there as well. We all headed into the church for mass and then the baptism........

See Red...

I'll bet you wished you could stop for just a short peek! I'd love to see the CBR pool too! It looks like a ton of fun.

35 minutes isn't so bad. Stopping and paying out your nose in tolls takes up the bulk of the time. :lmao: :sad2:

When Juliana and CS saw each other they immediately starting playing. It was like they just saw each other yesterday and continued on. CB was sleeping so we had to wait to see him. The kids started doing some crafts.

Crafts are good. A nice diversion to keep chaos from reigning.

While the kids were still working CB woke up. We got to see CB for the first time in person and he is really cute.. big too!

He is cute! If I were 35 again....:rolleyes1

The kids were done with their project and were showing them off.

They did a splendid job!

LOL

yeah, maybe a little... but if you explained you might have been able to pull them over to the dark side...

After dinner Juliana got a chance to hold the baby.

Nothing sweeter than that!!!

and they were getting sillier!

cupcake frosting is good for something!

It was time to get Juliana and CS to calm down so CW put Finding Nemo on for them. Juliana is being a lady in this picture!!! :rotfl:

Lady? The first thing I noticed was her finger looking like it had just emerged from nosy recesses. Other than that, yes completely lady-like!

It was getting late, and we had a long day of travel. We said our goodbyes and we headed back to POP. We were going to see them the next day (Sunday) for the baptism.

Am anxious to hear about the big event!

I'm not sure if it was Illuminations? But there wasn't many fireworks. There was a big yo-yo in the distance.

You're too fast for me, dude!!! I can't even keep up with the updates without you going and posting a new one!! LOL!:lmao: Which may mean you won't comment on the first set?

Back to reading- again! :rotfl2:

I've been trying to post 2 updates a day. If that is possible?:confused3

We didn't even have to take the highway to get there.... so no tolls!!!!!

They have their Florida resident APs... I'm sure they have seen a person or 2 taking pics of food.LOLOL

I think she was just rubbing her nose.. you know kids though, her finger could have been digging for gold!

I hope this isn't an omen of worse things to come!
I'm sure you read what happened already.:sad2:
