I was hoping for some advice , i know this happens to everyone at some point but don't know what to do? if anything?

I made a trade with someone and have not recieved their pins in return :( ( its been about a month). I have tried to contact him three times now by email with no response as to 1) whether the pins were shipped or 2) if he recievd my pins.

Is there anything i can do? He has a large list of good references on dizpins so i wasn't worried when i made the trade, but i dont want others to get taken as well? Thanks everyone in advance for your advice!!

What a nightmare for you! I have not yet traded on-line but am thinking of starting to do so. I'm wondering if people can post negatives as well as positives -- a la Ebay. (?) As a person new to trading, I'd feel more comfortable joining in if I knew that people can register problems as well as successes.

As far your trade in progress... I wonder if a variety of separate things are at work here:

1.) the mail seems to be slower these days because of all the anthrax hoaxes and terrorism;
2.) holiday mail slows everything down;
3.) the holidays might have taken this person out of town;
4.) the person has some kind of personal/professional crisis that has distracted him?

Just wondering. I can completely understand where that would be upsetting to you, in any case. I'll be interested in hearing what comes of your interaction.

One thing I would do is to check your post office. It has happened to me. Pins have been left there and the slip of paper was never delivered.

I have made a few trades over the past few weeks, as well as bought some pins and I have yet to get the pins or money out because of 2 tornados and flash flooding in my town that shut everything down including the Post Office for 3 days. To make matters worse I still haven't received the pins I've traded for either and I know they were shipped on time. I'm just hoping that everything is far behind and that they will show up. I'm going tomorrow to finally ship and mail money orders and hope that they will be at least a little timely from now on......But I have answered all emails and the people I'm dealing with know the situation. I don't know....I would email this person daily though.

thanks to everyone that replied or sent me messages. I have good news to report!! i finally contacted the person i am trading with and the pins are "in the mail"!!!! It seems that the person was trading me a pin that he had just traded for but that pin was "in the mail" too. I think this is a bad practice to get into. dont offer to trade pins until you have them in your hands!!! you never know what can happen. Also want to let every one know that you can report bad traders on the the dizpin reference board ( ist near the bottom of the page). Thanks everyone!! and Happy trading!!! :D

I would agree. If I don't have the pin yet in my hands, I let the person who wants it know that. And then we hold off on the trade until I do have the pin. And I have had others do the same with me.

Also keep in mind the rotten computer viruses that have gone around lately. My email was out on the fritz for a day while I kept being sent the Badtrans virus. Just a reminder that if you are sending emails with attachments (say your previous email in text format) that people are often hesitant to open them (at least I am)
Just a thought.
