A B2B Trip Report - Disney Wonder, June 13th & June 18th

great review. I did a back-2-back western and eastern on the Magic back in 2009 and it was great. Doing a back-2-back on the Dream in February and then a Back-2-Back on Wonder in April/May 2011. so reading about back-2-back get me excited:cool1::cool1:

Thanks for the kind words. :) I had hoped to document something in a trip report that was a little different. It's likely that not as many readers will be fortunate to take a B2B, but for me (even if the itineraries are almost the same) it's definitely a unique experience! :thumbsup2

Thanks again,
Drew

no prob, and agree it is really a unique exprience, I was lucky enough that my first back-2-back went to different ports both weeks, next one it was go to the same ports both, but I'm there for the ship more then ports on that on. On the Wonder it will be going to different ports:goodvibes

Thank you for the trip report. I will be booking a b2b for my family and this information was very helpful!!!:dance3:

Thanks for sharing your experience. We are doing a b2b in May 2011 on the Dream and wasn't sure what to expect as far as the transition process. Your report has been very helpful. Thanks again.

Thank you for the kind words, David! I was hoping that the report would be seen as informative, with a little lightheartedness for good measure. Our B2B on the Dream will be for 9/4 and 9/8. If you're sailing either (or both), please come join us on the DisMeet threads. If not, we will try to convey our B2B experiences on the Dream when we return. :thumbsup2

--Drew

That would have been nice to join you, but the first portion of our back2back starts September 11th thru the 18th. Looks like we will be just missing you, or should I say passing each other on the boarding plank.:thumbsup2 We are really looking forward to our cruise, as I know you and your family are too.:cool1: I'll have to read your report when we get back. Again, thanks Drew, for your excellent report and sharing your experiences with us. It was helpful and informative. :thumbsup2

I just remembered a question I had for you, I meant to ask in my previous post. Did you notice anything new at the Disney Cruise Line terminal? Disney mentioned they would be upgrading the terminal, but I didn't know if the work has been completed or not. Do you have any photo's you wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks Drew.

Thanks so much for the trip report. I will be doing this same b2b in Oct this year and am so glad it sounds like you really enjoyed yours! We wanted to do at least 7 days and this was the only way to do it on Disney this particular week and I had been a little worried about being disappointed. Sounds like I won't be! We will also be silver on the first cruise and gold on the second!

Thanks for the report. We are doing a B2B in March on the Dream. We do have one snag in that when we were booking, all they had were guarantees, so I booked one category 11B on one sailing that wasn't available on the other, so I have 11C guarantee on it. Thus, most likely, we will have to change rooms between sailings. Ought to add another layer of complexity to it.

Though, we will be driving and parking at the port, so we have thrown around the notion of packing a separate set of bags for the 3-day (2nd cruise) so that we'd have fresh clothes and wouldn't have to do laundry...

We are going to be in 5520 for our 11/28 Wonder cruise - you didn't happen to take pix of it, did you?

Thanks for the info on the B2B! We are doing a B2B next June on the Dream. We ADORED :lovestruc Pascal and he did tell us he was going to the Dream but didn't tell us he was being promoted to Head Server. :yay: We loved Tita as well. My DD tells me they have been her favorite serving team from all of her cruises. Thanks again!

for posting this. We are doing out 1st Back 2 Back in May 2011 and your info really helped me gain some insight to the process... Very appreciated!!

Thank you for the great trip report. We are also doing a B2B on the dream in February. I am so curious to find out how many B2B'ers there are for the new ship and if it will make a difference for the extra treats.

DMMMarla when are your sailing dates? We will be cruising the 6th and 10th!

Thanks again Drew, I am just that much more excited for our trip!

Great report! I had a B2B scheduled for next June on the Dream that I cancelled for a 7 night on the Magic in April over Easter. I appreciate your detail because that was part of my confusion. But I have "plenty of time" for a B2B!!

Not to ask a silly question here, but how do you get so many days off to do a B2B. You must be self employed. How wonderful. I have always wondered how the B2B cruises worked. Thanks for your report....
Maybe someday I will get to do one

I've been working for the same company for 11 years so I currently get 20 vacation days a year. Two 5N cruises don't take up all that much time. :)

We are doing a B2B on the Dream in March. Our situation is a bit different

After the 4-day cruise, DH will be accompanying his Mother on the DCL bus (transfers to the airport .. MCO ). Then he will take the Disney transfer bus back to the ship.

I will be waiting..but not sure if I'll be able to wait on the ship or will I have to wait in the cruise terminal ?

Also, we will be changing cabins. I know I'll have to pack, but where do I put my luggage ?

You can process all the way through and wait on the ship for him (guest services will move your luggage for you). Just be sure you each have your own documents and passports for the 2nd cruise with you, since you will be checking in separately.

Let guest services know your plan, as it may be possible that they will process him back onto the ship in the concierge line and let him on the ship right then or at with the first boarding group.

It will be interesting to see if someone has actually done this and can give us exact details. If not...please report back after your cruise and let us all know how it worked!
