I have a stupid question, that hopefully you can answer. If I make the ww 0 point soup using only the vegatables that are zero in points, how much of this soup can I eat in 1 day/night and still have it considered 0 points. Now, I'm not going to eat the whole pot, but, I just might ;)

i eat one bowl and count it as zero pts. There may be times I eat a big enough bowl to count it as one pt - but there's just something more enticing about eating veggie soup for 0 pts ;)

btw -- i just made some last weekend and used the pre-spiced canned tomatoes with basil and oregano and it was good!

To me, zero point soup is zero point in any quantity. I know that isn't always true with zero point foods but I make my soup with "really zero" veggies so I don't worry about it adding up.

I love the soup, it is a life saver. I often have a bowl before I start my dinner to settle the hungry horrors.

I am a WW online member.....WHERE can I find this recipe?!?!

TIA

kimraye -- there is a recipe posted on the Healthy Eating board on the top of WISH

I just basically dump 2-3 large cans of spiced tomatoes, 2/3 bag precut coleslaw mix and finish it with cans or partials from frozen bag of whatever veggies I have that are zero pts (lima beans, green/yellow beans, peas, carrots, celery, onion) well actually they aren't all on the 0 pt list, but i figure it's a small amount in a large crockpot of soup! If i don't have the spiced tomatoes I use my Italian seasoning blend.

it's like chili -- no two pots are the same but they are all good. my DH eats this and told me kids this weekend "Girls you should try mommy's soup -- don't let it fool you b/c it's healthy -- it really is good" :)

I went to the online recipes and specified 0 points in the search and a wonderful version popped up.

2 cloves of garlic
1 onion diced
2 carrots diced
1 red pepper diced
1 celery stalk diced
2 small zucchini diced
2 cup green cabbage shredded
2 cups swiss chard chopped
2 cups cauliflower small florets
2 cup broccoli (I left the broccoli out)
2 tsp thyme, fresh chopped
6 cup vegetarian broth (I used fat free chicken broth)
2 tbs parsley or chives, fresh chopped
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbs fresh lemon juice (I left this out)

Bring to High boil every thing but the parsley, salt and pepper. Lower heat and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from stove and add salt, pepper and parsley. YUMMM!

The cauliflor breaks up into little pieces resembling rice. Very tastey. I've made it twice so far. The second time I just "winged" it on amounts and veggies. I think the first one tasted better but the second one is great, too.

I make it one point soup by adding a can of chick peas at the simmer point, then I put the whole batch through the blender when it's done. It comes out more like "cream of", is more filling, and easier to eat on the fly. I think it works out to a half-point if you break it into 8 or more servings, but I usually just count it as a point.

What a great idea! I like the blender idea, then I could drink my soup on the run.

Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. Now you all gave me more ideas about making the soup. The blender idea sounds yummy, it'll make it more thick and thus more filling. I also love the idea bout the cauliflower. Kinda like tricking your brain into thinking your eating rice. And best of all, being I hate chopping/dicing veggies, the frozen veggies in the bag is good to do when your short on time, or like me and hate to prep food. I just like to eat it. Thanks again..
