A 40th Anniversary Celebration

Belated happy 40th too your parents. Think it's wonderful that the girls had each other and your sons friend went. What memories. I have wondered what the two bedroom looked like, thanks for the pictures.

Thanks, luckylady! I'm glad you found the pictures of the villa helpful! I always forget to take pictures until we've already over-run the place, so I'm glad I remembered this time around!

Welcome back! How special to get front row fo FOTLK. way to go with the pixie dust....

It was 'Ohana night!! And we celebrated by getting into our matching Nonna and Pop Pop shirts!P1090252.JPG

It was a celebratory, vibrant meal and we ate until we could eat no longer. I just loved watching my parents gawk at the heaping piles of food that just kept coming and coming. I'm glad Nonna had a wheelchair, as we literally had to roll her out of there!

But we grabbed a bunch of photos, so enjoy!

I have no recollection of what happened to Caity here. But any time a day at Disney is coming to an end, it hurts us all!

So here's the bonus of this evening. Nonna and Pop Pop took all of the kids back to the villa, and Michelle and I got some grown-up sister time alone at MK for EMH! Fun times!

Hey there!! It's so hard to find time to actually sit at my computer. I'm trying!!

I know what you mean. I'm going weeks between chapter updates on my TR and I can't even get time to read others'.

I'm so bummed we were in the same park at the same time and weren't able to connect! We need to exchange cell numbers or something!

I know!! I had no idea that you were going to be there at the same time..next thing I know you're posting something on Instagram from the front of Epcot while we were in Chefs de France. "Say what?!" As we wandered around World Showcase, I was looking for you amongst all of the faces, but no luck.

Now, this trip you're reporting here, this was before the trip of this summer, correct?

Yes! This trip was THREE YEARS AGO!! :scared:
But it was such a special one, I wanted to record the memories before they all faded....

So I really don't have a lot of pictures to document the sisters-only night at Magic Kingdom, but I know we were able to jump on a lot of our favorites, including Haunted Mansion and Pirates. We also spent a lot of time laughing. And we ABSOLUTELY had to eat popcorn. Because how can you go to Magic Kingdom and NOT eat popcorn?!

I love this one I got of Michelle just digging in tongue-first!!

And, of course, we had to have a bit of a competition on BLY:

Honestly, we didn't last very long... and we knew the next day would be filled with princesses... And we were very much looking forward to seeing Nonna and Pop Pop witness the royal celebrations!

We were up and out of the villa early. Well, most of us were. Tyson and Marcus decided that a princess meal just wasn't their thing. So we let them sleep in and gave clear instructions on how to meet us at Epcot later in the day.

So we got the two girlies dolled up, and headed to Epcot for a royal princess breakfast at Akershus. (God bless you!)

(Please try not to rip Shaelyn's gangly tooth out... it's just a picture...)

Shaelyn was good about letting Caity be in the stroller, most of the time. Since the day was fresh, she was happy to escort her cousin to the meal!

After a short wait to get in, we soon found ourselves face to face with the lovely Belle!

We were then seated, with two very happy princess who were about to not only get food... but princess-love!

First up was Aurora:

And then MY personal favorite, ARIEL!

Then Michelle's absolute favorite stopped by for a visit. Miss Snow White herself!

(Reached my 10 picture maximum... to be continued!)

The meal wrapped up with a royal princess processional all around the restaurant. The princesses come out and gather up children, then they play very regal music whilst the princesses (and even a few princes) parade around the restaurant, waving gracefully. The girls ate it up!!

And we ate up all of our food! Time to go explore more of Epcot!

That's one of those jokes that you just can't pass up!

Looked like the girls had a great time meeting the (and being) princesses.

My sister used to live within a short drive from my house but just recently moved over an hour away too and I don't like it. It could be much worse, I know. We are very close but not in age (12 year difference), we are best friends though.

I LOVE your early morning pictures at Animal Kingdom. Those are awesome!

What a magical time that you made happen at FOTLK. Precious memories.

You always make 'Ohana look like such a fun experience. I have never been there. You guys looked great in your special shirts.

Sister time sounds so fun. I would love to do that if I ever get back to WDW with my sister, even for just an hour or two. I treasure the time I spend with my sister. One on one time doesn't happen very often.

Did your parents enjoy the princess breakfast? The girls looked like they were having such a good time. So nice for them to experience that together.

How long was this trip with your parents?

Such a great TR so far, I'm seriously tearing up with all the love and family. I know I'm a sap, but seriously such a special trip!!!!

And congrats to your parents, that is awesome!!!

Enjoying your report! I totally understand about the need to write a trip report even if it is several years ago. I am still writing my TR from Feb. 2014. I didn 't start writing it until almost a year later. At first I was updating quite a bit but now that i am almost done with the trip, I haven't finished it. I have really enjoyed reliving the trip and my memories through the writing of the TR and hate to see it end. Since it has been awhile since I last posted, I am only writing for myself. But I am going to finish it.

I am really enjoying your report. It is a nice combination of text and photos. The trip sounds like it was truly a fun family trip. What a great way to celebrate your parents 40th Anniversary! Wonderful pixie dust for the Lion King show. Looking forward to reading more of your experiences.

What a great princess breakfast, so cute for the girls to feel like princesses too!
