Hello everyone! Welcome to my first trip report! The title is not click-bait; I am 15, but I'm the designated planner for my family! All right, I hate when people drone on too long in these things, so let's get right into it!

Who: Our cast of characters also includes Dad (a slight Disney World hater), Mom (very organized and almost as enthusiastic about the trip as me), and Sister (12 at the time of the trip, but still adorable because she's 6 at heart). We have only had one family vacation to Disney, but that was all the way back in 2012. I went once with my performing group last year, but honestly ... it wasn't a super fun trip. You know the type of group. It's those girls who "accidentally" push you out of the way in the Expedition Everest line and proceed to throw 10 million pony tails onto the tracks while Snapchatting. I'd much rather go with my family than a bunch of obnoxious teenagers.

What: 5-Day Park Hopper Passes and Standard Dining Plan. Storytime! When the second round of Free Dining was announced, I made exactly 252 calls (using three phones at once) over the span of 10 hours. I got through to a real person about 12 times, but each time they told me that their systems were down and that nobody was able to get the promotion. However, the final time that I was able to reach somebody, the woman told me that people had been booking all day, so there was nothing left. I was really frustrated, but I reminded myself that it's almost like the promotion never came out in the first place. It would have just been a bonus, but not getting it wasn't exactly a loss!

When: December 11-15 (5 days and 4 nights)

Where: Caribbean Beach Resort

Why: I literally made an in-depth PowerPoint and presented it to Dad. I'm not even joking!

Day One - Epcot and Magic Kingdom NEMH

For context, we are actually arriving by plane the day before and staying off-property for the night (somehow this ended up being cheaper). We are taking an Uber to Caribbean Beach and dropping our bags off at the front desk because it will be way too early to check in. Next, we will be taking the Skyliner over to Epcot! I'm so excited that this will be open. It's almost a ride in and of itself.

We should get to Epcot around 9:30 - 10:00 AM. This is tied with Animal Kingdom as my favorite park, but Sister hates it for some reason. She thinks that the World Showcase is super boring, but hopefully I can change her mind! I'm going to post a separate thread on what FastPasses we are going for after these rough overviews of each day.

Dining:
Lunch: We are planning on eating around the world at the International Festival of the Holidays using snack credits.
Dinner: We have a reservation for Tutto Italia at 6:00. However, we are hoping to ditch this in favor of the new space-themed restaurant (if it is open).

After dinner, we are taking the monorail over to Magic Kingdom, which has Extra Magic Hours from 9:00 to 11:00 that night. It's going to be a long day! Hopefully Dad can make it through, but Magic Kingdom is his least favorite park, so he might just go back to the hotel after dinner.

Day Two - Magic Kingdom and MVMCP
We are waking up early to catch a bus to Magic Kingdom for our pre-park opening breakfast at Be Our Guest! Mom can't live without photos, so we'll probably spend about 15 minutes taking photos around the semi-empty park. This is a party day, so hopefully crowds will be lighter.

Mom and Sister actually have tickets for MVMCP, but Dad and I don't. This is because each member of the family gets a "Special" -- an extra activity just for them. Mom's "Special" is going to the Christmas party with Katie.

Dining:
Breakfast: We have a reservation for Be Our Guest at 8:35. Great use of a quick-service credit!
Early Dinner: We are planning on heading over to Columbia Harbour House for a 4:30 meal.

Other Reservations:
Katie has a 1:30 appointment at Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique. This is her "Special" and she's really excited about it. Since she'll have just turned 12 (even though she looks 8), this will be her last ever chance to do it!

7:00 - 12:00 is the Christmas party for Mom and Katie. They are more focused on meeting characters and seeing the parades/shows during this time. I don't like meeting characters (it kind of creeps me out) so I'm glad that I'm not there.

Not sure what Dad and I will do after dinner yet. I know he's going to want to go back to the hotel, but hopefully I can get him to go to Disney Springs. He's never been, but he loves late-night eating and shopping so he'd probably love it there.

Following along! I was 14 when I planned out our family's first vacation to Disney World, but I wasn't on DIS yet... which is probably a good thing, since I wasn't as good of a writer as you are! Nor did I plan our vacation as well as you have this one mapped out so far!

You have some really exciting plans so far, I can't wait to find out what your "Special" is!

Day Three - Dolphins in Depth and Hollywood Studios
Mom and I are waking up first this day and taking the Skyliner back to Epcot. We are heading straight to the Seas pavilion because we are doing the Dolphins in Depth experience! This is my "Special" and I can't wait! I had never even heard of this before we got an ad in the mail from Disney. It seems really exciting because in addition to interacting with dolphins, you get to learn how the dolphins are trained/cared for, sit in on a research session with marine mammal specialists, and discuss how global issues affect ocean life. One of the things I want to be when I grow up is a marine biologist, so this could give me great insight as to what the job is really like! Has anybody else done this before? Thoughts?

In the early afternoon, we are taking the Skyliner and meeting up with Dad and Sister in Hollywood Studios. We are concerned about this day in terms of crowd levels. It is a Friday and just a little over a week after Rise of the Resistance opens.
When they announced the opening date for RotR, I was a little worried. To be honest, the entire family doesn't like Star Wars, and we are going to try to avoid Galaxy's Edge entirely.

The only things we want to do at Hollywood Studios are riding all three Toy Story rides, seeing Muppetvision 3D, going to Beauty and the Beast Live, and watching the Indiana Jones show. We might stick around for Fantasmic! as well. Hopefully lines aren't too long and we can do all this in a half-day.

Dining:
Lunch: We have a reservation for Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at 2:00. We actually changed our HS day because I couldn't get a reservation for this initially. HS was supposed to be the first day of the trip, but we swapped it with Epcot when I was only able to book lunch here on day three. I picked this restaurant with Dad in mind after he said, "I don't care if the food tastes good or not, I just want cool ambiance." Is it as interesting on the inside as Disney's pictures make it seem?

Dinner: We have an ADR for ABC Commissary at 7:00. The dinner-only pot roast looks delicious!

Other Reservations:
Dolphins in Depth at 9:45 AM!!

I've never done Dolphins in Depth, but I've heard great things about it! I'm sure you're going to have an amazing time!

Sci-Fi Dine-In is definitely a fun experience! That was one of the first Disney restaurants we ever went to, and it was as awesome as I thought it would be!

Following along!

You write much better than some of the adults on this board, I'm pretty impressed! You also sound a lot like me at 15, very organized.

Your trip plans look great so far! I have not done the Dolphins in Depth, but it sounds cool. Dolphins are amazing creatures.

Day Four - Animal Kingdom
For our last full day, it's time to explore Animal Kingdom! We are not planning on hopping to any other parks this day, but we are going to take advantage of the morning Extra Magic Hour.

Bright and early, we'll be up to take the bus to Animal Kingdom. We are not going to try to rope drop Pandora because that scene is just a little too crazy for Dad. I think we should actually go to Dinoland U.S.A. first (kind of a non-traditional choice). We should be able to knock out riding a reopened Primeval Whirl and Dinosaur pretty quickly. Sister also insists on meeting Dinosaur Chip and Dale. I have to admit, they are kind of cute. We saw that there are new stuffed animals of the chipmunks in their dino costumes, and she's already set on buying one.

Dining:
Lunch: We want to try Satu'li Canteen around 12:00 (hopefully after a Flight of Passage FastPass).
Late Dinner: Storybook Dining at Artist Point at 8:45. I know it's a character meal, but it looks more ... sophisticated(?) ... unique(?) than the typical buffet type. Don't worry, that type is coming tomorrow.

This has the potential to be interesting. Can't wait to see where this goes.
Thanks for joining in!

Hope we have just as much fun! Sister would approve of your profile picture by the way -- those are her favorite characters!

Thank you so much! I read your PTR too! Sounds crazy but exciting!

Nice plans so far I was 18 when I helped plan a family Disney World trip in 1998. Back then things were more simple though we stayed in one of the treehouses. We actually only made one dinner reservation for the contemporary fore fireworks.

Definitely following along! I understand your position - when I was ten I swiped my mom’s copy of “Walt Disney World with Kids” by Kim Wright Wiley and “helped” plan our trip. Your family is lucky to have your help.

My dad loved Sci-Fi, and was impressed with the drive-in screen, so I hope that means your dad will love it too :umbrella:

This is great! Impressed that you seem to have physically organized the whole trip & math-ed everything out-- I also sold my family on a Disney trip when I was in my late teens, but I definitely didn't have the capacity to actually go through and calculate/book everything to this extent.

Day Five - Last Day ...
I'm back! Thanks for joining in everyone! Anyways, on to the last day of our trip. This one has been kind of hard to plan in advance, as I kind of want to see what we don't finish on our other days. We do have one thing solid though: a brunch reservation at Chef Mickey's. We might do the morning Extra Magic Hour at Hollywood Studios if we weren't able to accomplish everything we had hoped to on Friday. After brunch, we'll probably either go to Magic Kingdom or Epcot. This is just based on the fact that they are easiest to get to since the Contemporary is on the monorail line.

We're also thinking we might meet up with family friends for a few hours on this day. They just moved to a house that's about a five minute drive from Disney World!

We'll take the Magical Express back to the airport around 6:00 PM.

Dining:
Brunch: Reservation at Chef Mickey's at 12:00. I've heard that it's crazy loud in here, but this was both Sister and Mom's number one choice for table-service. We originally had an earlier time for this, but I changed it because it looked like the brunch "menu" had more options than breakfast.

I think I probably missed it, but what is Dad's "special" thing?
You didn't miss it! I just didn't mention anything about Dad's Special since it's not set in stone yet. He doesn't really want to spend a lot of money on something for himself (or spend money at all, really). I have been talking his ear off about options though, just in case he changes his mind. He gets really annoyed when Sister, Mom, and I "talk about Disney too much" (as if such a thing exists), so maybe he'll pick something just to shut me up. Right now, he's saying that the NBA Experience sounds cool. Dad's a big sports guy, but I don't know if he'd love this. It seems very kid-oriented -- all of the promotional pictures show kids participating in the activities. What do you guys think?
