$99 HP Touchpad

Seller: You want confirmations?
SlickDealer: I think I'm entitled to them.
Seller: You want a status update?
SlickDealer: I want the truth!
Seller: You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has warehouses. And those warehouses have inventories that have to be tracked in real time. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Bargain Hunter? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for a Touchpad and you curse OnSale. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that your jumbled order, while tragic, probably saved you money. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves money...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about on Slickdeals, you want me on this phone. You need me on this phone.
We use words like pending, processing, First-In-First-Out...we use these words as the backbone to a life – a life intent on selling something. You use 'em as the gospel. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain our order processing to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very click-and-buy convenience I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and logged out. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a headset and hop in the call queue. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!
SlickDealer: Did you cancel my order?
Seller: (quietly) I did the job our inventories made me do.
SlickDealer: Did you cancel my order?
Seller: You're gd right I did!!

Hilarious. Who took the time to write that?

IF anyone is near Hadley MA they are getting some in stock today at Best Buy.
they are giving out tickets. at least that is what the clerk said on the phone.

I originally ordered from HP on Sunday morning... On Sunday at 7 P.M. my order mysteriously disappeared. I ordered on by telephone @ MAcMall .. received a confirmation...... order cancelled. All I wanted was (1) 32 GB touchpad
Now I receive this email from HP.
"Thank you for your interest in purchasing the HP TouchPad. I am sorry for any inconvenience, and I understand that you would like to check the status of your order. I would be happy to assist you on this matter. However, I do require some more information to do so. If you could reply to this email with the account verification details, such as the full name, billing address and phone number that registered on the account, we would be more than happy to update your profile for you. I am so turned off by this huge fiasco.
I don't want to spend another penny at Hp.
BB is offerring a $5O trade in on printers towards the purchase of a Kodak printer. I am seriously thinking of trading in my HP printers and never buyong another print cartridge from HP. I spend approx $90 per month on ink and paper and have an EPP account with HP.

Is this sour grapes. Maybe.
My DH offered to buy me an IPAD for my birthday. My Birthday, Anniversery and Christmas Presents every year is our trip to Disney..... That's all I really want .
Ipad....Disney ... no contest... Disney wins every time. I wanted the HP touchpad for my ds to use on Campus...although he would never ask for one.
No Touchpad.... $150 more dollars to spend at Disney...

I'm wondering if I'm to late to be able to find one... I had to wait until I got paid in order to be able to buy one. I didn't read the entire posts does any one know if its just like the hot toy at christmas if you wait a few weeks you'll be able to find one again or is it once HP has sold every last one of them this thing is done? Is it just best buy that is selling them? How about staples? I have a staples on my way home but best buy is a long way out of the way. I noticed that they are sold out online has that been changing at all or is it strictly you can only buy them in stores?

Thanks!

was your order through onsale? Mine must have been cancelled but I have yet to receive anything from them. I just checked my account and there is nothing in there regarding my order. Nice of them to let us know. Kinda ticks me off!

When it disappears you need to check orders in the last 30 days from the drop down menu. They move it from one section to another....

Those who ordered at HP and your status is in admin:

I talked to an associate and they stated that they just don't have enough personnel to package all the orders. The touchpads are in the warehouse, but it is slow going. Oh he also told me at the end of this all their phones are going to have to be replaced and that they are getting a LOT of o/t. ;) So, apparantly, admin status means you will be getting your order... someday. :P

For anyone looking for the wireless charging docks, my Wal Mart had them today at the regular price ($79.99) but they were price matching to Best Buy. The sales associate called our local BB for the price ($39.99) and they honored that.

Also, an interesting tidbit, the associate and I were taking about the firesale on the Touchpads and she pulled out a brand new one that had a huge label reading "Demo only. Not for Sale." Don't know whether it was on reserve for an employee or if for some reason, Wal Mart isn't selling the demos, but it might be worthwhile to ask if you're looking for a Touchpad.

thanks for that info.. so there may be hope, even though they took the pending charges off.. maybe they can only hold pending for so long and the CC company either wants them off or charged???:confused3

There is still hope. If you want to call and check your order you can call and select the sales option. These people have access to the same records and can check your order. CC's have a three day hold on funds I believe...

Usually this is true, but in my case my order is just gone. It is not in my history with Amazon at all.

I'm sorry. :(

I would like to keep my faith, but it is pretty hard with HP. They had pending charges on my credit card. I ordered Saturday. The pending charges were placed on my card Saturday. I rec'd my confirmation email on Sunday. I continue to check my order status and it changed late Sunday from a ship out date of 8/22 to 8/27. Since then, no status change. It is still in the "admin" phase of the order. As of yesterday, the "pending" charges have been removed from my credit card. There are no charges from HP on there anymore. I have gotten no cancellation email either. I wrote to them, and the I had posted my response in a previous email. The response is a generic response. In other words, my order is in limbo.. I don't know what in the world is going on with it.. I cannot log on with my email address and cust ID#, it states no order found. I can only log on with the PO # information.. and that is where it is showing no status change :confused3 The faith is very hard to keep at this point.. :sad2:

Don't let this part get you down. I just got an email response from Amazon after I wrote them annoyed that my On Sale order put a pending charge on then cancelled my order but not my pending charge.

This is part of their response:

Authorizations typically expire within 7-10 business days if the charge is not processed. If you need to remove the authorization before the normal expiration period set by your bank, please contact them directly.

So they can still easily charge your card again upon shipping. This in itself doesn't mean your order is cancelled.

I'm in limbo too.

I'm sorry. :(

And the charge still has not been credited back to my account.
And my order with HP shows as "no order found".:sad1:

I guess I was just not meant to have one LOL:sad2:

Good luck to everyone!!!:flower3:

that would make sense.. 3 day hold.. Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.. they took it off yesterday!! thanks.. now maybe I will have some faith :thumbsup2

I attempted to order a touch-pad thru Barnes & noble, and then got denied the next day with a cancellation.

Well, I just got an email for a $20 gift cert. So, its not the same as getting the touch-pad, but better than the nothing i expected after the cancellation notice.

So, if you got cancelled make sure to read the whole email from barnes and noble, because there was some jibberish about how sorry they were at the top, and the email didn't say gift card in the title, it was a note from their president.

I think the next time a manufacturer is going to have a super sale such as this, they should hire US to do their work... :lmao: I think we can so some serious customer service with a smile.. after all, we all are Disney lovers... we can sprinkle pixie dust as we do our jobs.. and as far as only taking orders for the amount of inventory we have.. I think we can do that too...:thumbsup2

I have been on hold since I have first posted this... 32 minutes and counting..

update again.... on hold now 65 minutes.. and counting.. I bet they don't answer by the time they close tonight!!!!

Those DISers who ordered from B&N and got cancelled look in your email, they are sending a $20 GC to you :)

Another day of charges on the ole cc, but no email from HP. Sigh, back to waiting.

edit: HP are you spying on me? I just got the email confirmation of my order with a ship date of tomorrow

I tried to get Walmart to match their own website price of $35.00 yesterday, but they would not budge off the $79.99. :confused3
So, I went to BB and bought one for $39.99.
