Please help. I see that the $99.99 deal is still going on and appears to be a pretty good deal (we have never been to Universal Fl). I'm trying to understand if it is truly "whenever" your arrival date starts or if there is an expiration on it?

We just returned from WDW and do not plan on taking another trip to Orlando for at least a year. If we purchased the $99.99 tickets and then don't go to US for a year....or even two years....will they still be valid??

Also, since we have only done WDW, what are suggestions for getting started on a US vacation? I see, from reading other threads, that this is a much more laid back deal. I see that I cannot even price the hotels yet, for next year, so would I just buy tickets and kick back until the hotel dates open up? No plan of attack/ touring plans???:confused3

I am not 100% sure, but I believe the tickets are good if you buy them now for next year's trip. They expire after first use, not after purchase. USO is much more liad back than WDW. I don't really have many tips to offer, but I'm sure you'll have a good time!

The ticket specials expire after the tickets are activated at the gates...not from date of purchase. So any tickets you purchase now and don't activate will be good next year or the year after. However...with HP opening next year I don't expect Universal to ofter many specials as the crowds will be huge for quite a while. If you are thinking of going, you should purchase the tickets now as no one knows when the special will get pulled.

As far as starting to plan...I would check out the website, read the trip reports and check YouTube for ride videos to get an idea of what you'll be experiencing. Since Disney is much larger, you don't have to spend a lot of time planning a visit or making ADR's 25 years in the future. Check out those options and then come back and ask specific questions...we will try our best to help you.

Thanks to you both!!! I think I will definitely purchase the tickets now! I don't think that is a half bad deal and we are very much interested (o.k....well, I am very much interested, in the Harry Potter).:thumbsup2

the passes you buy now, will not expire since you do not plan to use them until a year from now.

many are buying the passes and have no plans within the next year to going to universal.

they will be valid once they do use them.
they will expire 6 days after the first usage.
