On Thanksgiving day we ordered a netbook and the weeee hours of Black Friday ordered a laptop. Both were from Walmart and both had $.97 shipping. Probably should have done free Site to Store but our store is always a wreck and DH was worried that they would not be handled properly. (HA! Little did he know.)
So we get home last night in the rain and I see boxes, halfway covered in plastic sitting on our porch. I assume someone sent us something, never thinking it would be our orders (we had ship dates of around 12-12.) I go to get them and see the boxes, not your typical brown shipping boxes, but boxes with pictures and descriptions of the computers! :scared1: I am so glad that no one took them, sitting there since Saturday, and glad they wern't too wet and glad the kids were all half asleep and didn't see me scoop them up and hide them.
I am SHOCKED that we didn't have to sign for almost $600 worth of electronics and also surprised that they overnighted them for $1.
So anyone who may have ordered from Walmart, expect them early and you won't have to sign. Hopefully the warning will help you. If I had any idea I would have ahd a friend come and get them Saturday.

I ordered our tv on thursday and got it on saturday. We were surprised that it came so fast and that we didn't need to sign it either. They did put the fed ex sticker on our door but we were home and fed ex just rang the door bell and ran.

I was amazed and very pleased that the camera I ordered on Thursday was delivered on Saturday. When I checked out it said it would arrive sometime next week!

I was home though so I had it delivered right in my hands. I'm sorry that happened to you and I would have been livid too. I've had similar problems with USPS where they were leaving packages outside of my door within plain view of every one else in my apartment complex! At least when it rained they put them in plastic bags. :rolleyes1

Uggh! I've got two laptops coming (one from Staples--being returned--and one from BestBuy), and two netbooks (one from Target and one from Amazon) in the next two days!!! And they're supposed to be a surprise for my kids. I really really hope they don't get seen by the kids before DH is able to get the boxes upstairs. It didn't occur to me that they'd be in marked boxes. Rats.

That is why I posted, so people would be aware. Hope now that you know you will be able to make arrangements for someone to get them so they are safe and not seen. This is the only gifts we are getting the kids (Santa will bring some smaller things) and I would have been so upset had they seen them and not have a big surprise for them Christmas morning. Also I wanted to make sure that poeple knew they will be left so they can arrange for that too. I wasn't expecting them for a couple weeks so I would not have been worried for a while had they gone missing.

I am impressed with the fast shipping, don't get me wrong, but not signing for pricey stuff makes no sense.
