Just received an email with an offer for Disney Visa cardholders to earn at least a $900 American Airlines gift card when they purchase DVC...have no idea if this is in addition to any current $$$ off incentives. Here's the link:
http://disneyrewards.disney.go.com/offers/dvcfreeairfaremay10.html

(Looks like existing members only need to add-on 50pts to qualify for the gift card.)

I got the e-mail also. I was already planning on adding on 50 pts at AKV. I read all the offer details and I do not beleive that you can combine it with other promotions. I still have a few questions. I called my guide and I'm waiting to hear back.

It would be nice if this was in addition to the incentives already in place -- but sadly I doubt that's the case.

Oh please keep us posted!

I was thinking of adding on 2 50pt contracts...do you think they'd only give the GC on one???? Do you have to use the card for the entire purchase or just the down payment??? I wonder what the scoop is!!! LOL

I just spoke to a guide (my guide is on the Disney Magic right now in Europe). The gift card is only $250 for a 50 point add-on. The $900 is for 160 points. There is an additional $5 per point credit if you put the entire purchase on your Disney Visa. Also, this CAN be combined with the $10 promotional discount currently offered at AKV for 50 points.

So for anyone looking to add on 50 pts at AKV, it would be $97 per point ($112 base price less $15 discounts) and you would also receive a $250 American Airlines gift card.

The American Airlines gift card and the extra $5 per point discount are promotions offered by Disney Visa and expire on June 30, 2010.

hmmm, I wonder what it is for blt?....

Ok I just closed on 125 add on contract 4/30 (purchases 4/14) and I have a Disney reward card does anyone know if I can inquire about this promotion or does it have to be done at time of purchase?

If your contract has already closed, then there is nothing they can do to give you the new deal retroactively.

Sorry Jenny...it says only one gift card per membership. :(

This sucks - We bought a house last year that closed 1 Oct 09 - 34 days prior to the $6500 tax credit going into effect.....and now this goes into effect 30 days after we sign DVC contract!!!

We are just jinxed!! At least we have DVC :rotfl:

Hmmm, very tempting. We are definitely looking to add on at AKV...this certainly sweetens the pot.

We are always one step ahead or two steps behind saving a $. Honestly, if it weren't for bad luck, we wouldn't have any luck at all!:lmao:

I just added on and was told I could not combine the Disney Rewards offer! It was better for me to take the $10.00 off a point.

I called yesterday and was told that I couldn't combine it either. I was offered 50 BLT points at $12/pt after the cash discount. He said I could take a $300 gift card for AA but it was the same as the cash discount.

I just heard from my guide this morning and was provided the information below. I had contacted her to see about combining discounts as I just completed a 50 point add-on purchase that does not close until the end of May. I received a VERY testy reply (that I didn't include below) that they weren't....Hmm, somebody woke up grumpy today:lmao:

GUIDE: For a 50 pt add on at AKV you get $5 off per point plus a $250 AA gift card...Bay lake is $2 plus a $100 gift card..

So an AKL add-on would be $107 per point and the $250 gift card? Which is essentially the same as $10 off per point. Huh. No, thanks! :rotfl:

Darn!! I guess this falls under the category of "too good to be true"........

Maybe they'll come out with something interesting at the Doorway to Dreams event in Chicago.

My family and I were in Disney the first week of May. Went on the BLT tour and walked away with 150 add on points at BLT (I think we got like 8 dollars a point off) and I paid for the downpayment with My Disney Visa Card. I just saw this offer. I think I'm reading this as because we got the $$ we are not eligible for the AA Gift Card? Yes? Our guide never mentioned the AA Gift card. THe only offers we were told about were the cruise or the $$ off.
