9 Days Poly CL DxDP...Too Much Food???...Too Much Fun!!!...1600 Pictures

I see that y'all are DVC owners. How do you like it? We decided to do the BCV (2 bedroom) in June. Anxious to see how we like staying in a villa in comparison to a CL room.

We love the spaciousness of the villas. My husband and I will have a Studio at the BWV, while the rest of our group will be at SSR in a Treehouse Villa

Heather, this was a FANTASTIC TR!!!!

I loved reading everything - just the right amount of detail.

We are going in October and staying on grounds for the first time - also the first trip for DD who is 4 so reading about your kids was great.

I just told DH, that maybe in a few years when finances are better than current, we will go and stay at polynesian - you sold me on the fireworks from your room and the CL Lounge!

Thanks again - this is one of the best I have read!

Well I am a little late to the party, but I have read the whole report.:thumbsup2
What a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon, thank you!:goodvibes

Thanks for the compliments! Your DD4 will fall in love with WDW! 4 years old is a great age!! DS3 was still a little young to comprehend eveyrthing, but still had a blast. On the next trip he will be 4, so hopefully he won't be such a handful!

I would LOVE to go back to the Poly TPV CL, but promised my DH that I would cut cost on the next trip. Maybe in a few years I can sit on the patio again and watch the fireworks....an awesome experience!!! I really believe that wherever you stay, you will have a wonderful time at Disney...it's such a magical place.

Hope you enjoyed the TR! I think you've over on the Poly thread:confused3 aren't you? Is the Poly your next destination?

I read your Pirates League review a while back and have finally managed to catch up with the rest of your report. I really enjoy your writing style and your photos are beautiful. :)

Finally, I'm getting around to the Star Wars installment. I had to wait on DH and DS9 to help out. Remember, I was at the Poly pool while DH, DS9 and the grandparents went to DHS for Star Wars weekend. There will be 2 installments due to the tons of pics my mother made...thanks, mom!

They took the bus over, but had a REALLY long wait!!. They were walking up and the bus was pulling out. For some reason, the next bus didn't show up for like 30 minutes. So....guess what??? They missed rope drop!

As you can see, the people are pouring into DHS! The crowd count for the day was a 10!!!

DH and DS9 are making pictures of the roof.....you will see why in the next picture.

DSC02471.jpg

DS9 is a HUGE Star Wars fan!!!! This was a real treat for him to be able to go with DH and grandparents MINUS the 2 little ones.

When you look up at the roof....there they are!!!!

DSC02473.jpg

STORM TROPPERS on the roof! How cool is that??!!

DSC02474.jpg

Now before I go any farther with this installment....please know that I might misspell some of the characters' names. I'm not a Stars Wars guru by any stretch of the means!!! This is where DS9 comes to help, but he has informed me that he has no idea how to spell the names:confused3

Before the parade started, they decided to go see Beauty and the Beast.

DSC02477.jpg

DS9 wasn't too excited about this show, but I think when it was all said and done, he really, really enjoyed it.

DSC02478.jpg

This is one of those shows that almost makes me cry when I watch it....it's just wonderful.

DSC02484.jpg

Well....would you believe that DS9 nor DH remember what time the parade started??!!! Oh well....they had a great view of the parade. All four of them did have to stand, but not a big deal they said.

Of course Mickey, Minnie and Donald were all decked out in Star Wars attire!! What's a Disney parade without Mickey, right?!

DSC02488.jpg

So here they come....ALL characters from ALL Star Wars movies!! DS9 was soooooooo excited!!

This is a Tuscan Raider (sometimes called Sand People) And of course, everyone knows who this is!

DSC00110.jpg

These are some kind of pilots (DS9 says they are from the Dark Side)

DSC02495.jpg

Up next....the Emperor's Guards

DSC02494-1.jpg

Notice how elaborate these costumes are!! DS9 and DH said it was like watching the movie come to life....the characters were literally at your fingertips.

Classic Clones

This little guy is one of my personal favorites...the Ewoks are so cute! .... And this is Mace Windu.

We all love this guy!!....R2D2............ And....Commander Cody

So the big question that many have asked....Was it crowded??? DS9 said.....YES!!!!! :scared1: But he would certainly go back and see it again.

Stay tuned for the next installment of "Star Wars Part 2 & Poly Resort"....more pics!!! I told you we had around 1600 pictures;)

Thanks! I really enjoy making pictures and like putting tons of pics in my TR. Wish I could take a photography class at some point....just can't find the time.

The Pirates League and BBB were two of the highlights of our trip...I think the kids truly enjoyed themselves that day.

Glad you enjoyed the TR!

awesome Heather, can't wait for more!

Thanks! Did you notice my ticker?? We definitely decided on the BC...no split stay, though. Not sure I'm up to that, yet. Actually the BC villas since my parents are joining us again. Thought the extra room would be nice. I'm going to miss the monorail, but I'll get over it....right?! It will be fun to try something new. Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get a pin or Disney offers a great discount for next June...if not...oh well....we will still be going:dance3:

Oh yes, I've been keeping up with your plans, and you WILL NOT regret BC. Just like I know we will not regret taking a break from BC and trying Poly. I really love the walking distance to EPCOT and the boat to MGM, add in SAB makes it perfect. Funny as it sounds, I really like the gift shop there too! I had a villa booked a few years back and we switched to 2 connecting rooms because I had to change our ressie and lost the villa. (trip with MIL) A pin sure would help you out, I was wondering if you may have rented points from the DVC point renting board, I have been SO tempted to try that, however, it just makes me a little nervous. I noticed you have been reading Trish's report too, fun! Have a great Disney day! Erin:goodvibes

Ya know...I have read all about the renting points thing. Most of peoples' experiences sound great, but....it's that 1% that makes me a bit uneasy. I'm so afraid we would arrive and something will be wrong with the reservation, etc. It makes me nervous relying on another party to set up everything. I have this horrible vision of someone taking my $2000 and running with it! I know....paranoid. Tons of people use travel agents, too, and I always go through Disney....again...paranoid.:confused3

Great pics!! Tell your son and the rest of the gang thanks for sharing!!

Glad you enjoyed the pictures! Star Wars was one of my DS9s favorite things he experienced.

Y'all have a great trip!! I know you're excited...it will be here before you know it!

Great update. :) Please thank your DM, DH and DS9 for their contributions to the TR. :thumbsup2

I will tell them thanks from you!;) I just noticed the "Scotland" under your avatar! Wow! You are quite some distance from WDW!!! Do y'all make it over to this part of the world very often? I aslo see that you are going on a Disney Cruise (Alaska). We would love to do that, too,...just have to wait until the kids are old enough to appreciate the beauty of Alaska.

We are the Third Generation of this 9 day adventure - aka Grand Parents. The Star Wars Weekend was a highlight for our Grandson. Don't think Disney has an abbrevation for Grands but DGS9 will work for me. GS9 was beside himself with the Parade. He knew all the characters and kept saying, "MaHopi make a picture of that one" - MaHopi is DGM (Grand Mother).
One suggestion - is there such a thing as a Fast Pass for autographs? The lines were LONG for the Star Wars characters.

yes, we are doing a split stay POR(our usual resort) then ending with 5nights at the POLY as a surprise to the kids. POLY truly is our dream resort.
My DD's looked over my shoulder when I was reading your TR, they commented how lucky you were to stay at the POLY and how cute your DD is and how she looks like their cousin.
I totally agreed with them and laughed inside with a secret glee , and wanted to yell YOU ARE GOING TO THE POLY TOO:cool1::lmao::cool1:

Thanks for posting this link in your signature so I knew to pop over here to get my POLY/Disney fix;)

Hey, we're doing this too - 3 nights at POR and 4 nights at the Poly. It's not strictly a surprise for the kids, we're just not telling them yet! They're figuring it out though - especially since our luggage tags arrived this week :lmao:

What are your dates?

The surprise idea is great! I have read about parents doing this and it sounds terrific!!! We have thought about it, but I never can keep anything like Disney to myself. Maybe I can do this when we take the Disney cruise:confused3 Your kids are going to have a fit when you drive up to the Poly and say "SURPRISE!!"

I've been visiting Florida since I was little. Some gaps between trips have been longer than others, but we always come back to WDW. :goodvibes

That is a fantastic idea, but the only time I have heard of them is at the SWW for meeting the actors from the movies.
