9 Days Poly CL DxDP...Too Much Food???...Too Much Fun!!!...1600 Pictures

CL has a nice selection of adult beverages. Their punch (it has a name...I forgot it) was outstanding!!!! Once again....people acted as if they couldn't have seconds. One man took and entire bottle of wine for himself. Perhaps this is acceptable....what do I know? This is my first CL stay ;) My husband also saw a man grab a big tray and loaded it up with Cokes, Diet Cokes, and Sprites...around 12...and took it back to his room. Once again....perhaps this is acceptable....I don't know???

Would I return to the Poly CL??? IN A HEARTBEAT!!!!!!!!

I am loving your TR!!!! We are 2 months and 1 day away from our Poly CL trip!!! So please, tell me about the "adult" punch. I have seen it mentioned before but no details. Is it available every night? Any idea what is in it?

My DH and I fell in love with a rum punch that was served in St. Thomas on our honeymoon. Since we are celebrating our 15th anniversary on our trip this August, I love the idea of having the same type of punch this time also ;)

Just came across your trip report and am loving it so far. The Poly looks beautiful and staying club level must have made it even more exciting. I can't wait to hear more!

After naps, a dip in the pool, and a drink from the CL, we were on our way AGAIN to Epcot for dinner - 7:15pm- at.....

Let me preface this by giving a brief overview of the Deluxe Dining....this is what we had WITH CL
*3 TS per day per person (appetizer, main course AND dessert:woohoo:)
*2 snacks per day per person
*Reminder - the number of TS meals you get is determined by the number
of nights that you have booked at a Disney Resort....not by the number of
days you have reserved for the parks ( if I said this incorrectly....someone
correct me )
Now.....is this a ton of food????? YES! YES! and YES! This plan is not for the faint of eating OR faint of planning. It took lots of planning to get all TS reservations done at the right time and at the correct parks....this is another reason we chose CLUB LEVEL!!!! Because the IPOs did a lot of my work. We didn't choose to do CL because of the food they offered in the lounge....it was totally a convenience issue with our family....and maybe the free drinks ;) When we are on vacation we really enjoy sitting down at a TS meal and being waited on. We like to feel like we are being pampered....another reason for CL;)....and once again....I will remind ALL readers....THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION!!! :thumbsup2

Okay....now for pictures of the appetizers that we ate at Le Chefs....

opps...forgot to make pix of appetizers:confused3 Had the escargot...was not good at all!

NOW for pix of main course....

Salmon.....very tasty!!!!!
DSC01877.jpg

Beef (rare).....very tasty, but the potatoes.....not so much:eek:
DSC_1024.jpg

Kids meal....actually very good, especially the fries!!!
DSC01876.jpg

And everyone's favorite.......DESSERT!!!!!!!!!!!

Creme Brulee - my all time favorite....FYI...you will see this very often on my TR....I can't help myself when I see creme brulee on a menu...a weakness!!
DSC_1027.jpg

Chocolate cake...heavenly
DSC01879.jpg

Crepes....another decadent dessert:thumbsup2

I loved the decor of the restaurant!!! Very french, very nice. BUT...our waitress was a bit slow...okay...I said a bit...I meant A LOT! She was super nice, but didn't have it all together. Would I go back??? Probably, but wouldn't be my first choice.

Back to the hotel for Wishes.....took the monorail back to the TTC...walked 5 minutes and WHA-LA....back at room!! Love that monorail!!!:woohoo:

If you are wondering WHY I put this pix in (not a good shot)......

DSC_1052.jpg

...simply because we saw little rabbits, ducks, squirrels, etc...NO GATORS ;)...every time we sat on our patio. Was kinda neat watching the wildlife...and get this....the animals were fairly tame...not skiddish at all!!! We watched Wishes several times from our patio room. Our room was very close to outside speakers, so the music was pipped in...we could hear EVERYTHING.

Again...not a great shot, but gives you a hint of what we were fortunate enough to see from our room.
DSC_1041.jpg

You can watch Wishes from the CL lounge, but we never had to since the music was loud and clear from our patio. I can't describe to you how magical it was sitting outside on the patio with my family surrounding me (DH and I holding the small ones) watching Wishes. This might sound corny to some, but it still brings tears to my eyes. My DD4 would sing the Wishes song every time she saw it.....priceless......ANOTHER reason we chose the Hawaii Building TPV.

On to Day 3:dance3:

To be honest...not sure what is in the punch. They do have it out at 5pm. It was reddish/pink color with fruit in it....very tasty. I never thought to ask the CMs what was actually in it. You will love it, though....especially if you like fruity drinks.

Awesome! Thanks so much. I can't wait to be there and experience it all for myself:)

The early morning hours at the Polynesian were my very favorite. I got up before everyone else with camera in hand ready for the sun to rise. The splendor of the Poly during the morning is something everyone needs to experience once......

I walked right out of the sliding glass doors of the room and made these pix (above)on the beach in front of the Hawaii Longhouse....did I tell you that I LOVE THE 1ST FLOOR????

The first shot above of the GF was made from the dock which by the way is under construction...not sure what they are doing??? I couldn't actually go under the pavilon and sit, but you can still catch the boat to the MK.

Above....basic shots of the GCH...now let's go get some breakfast!

DSC01882.jpg

Hmmmmm....the shots a bit dark, but do you notice that we are the only people in there?! Perhaps it's because it's 7:15am...did I tell you that we rise at the crack of dawn.....LOVE Rope Drop!! Again, the reason I posted this pix was to show you the great view you will have if you choose the Poly CL....sooooooo worth the money;)

Off to the bus stop....

DSC_1101.jpg

Just a small complaint here....ready???....I try not to complain, but...the buses weren't too bad until one day we did have to wait around 25 minutes before we actually got on one. The bus comes from the CR first....so you better hope it isn't full or ya won't get on!!! So while I waited, I made pictures.....

DSC_1109.jpg

The Neverland Club is super close to the bus stop. I believe it's ages 4-12 (not sure). We never utilized this facility because we brought built in babysitters....GRANDPARENTS ;) Friends of ours used it last year and said the kids loved it!! There is a charge per child...something like $12 per hour...again...not sure.

Guess where we are?????.......

DSC_1151.jpg

Did I tell y'all what an incredible family I have been blessed with?!? They are awesome...and love :lovestruc WDW just as much as me!!! Did you notice that some of us are wet....thanks to Kali River Rapids....great ride!

Everyone adores the Safari! Saw lots of animals! The guide we had was good, but I have had much better. He didn't put a lot of enthusiasm into the ride...still nice, though. The baby rhino was the star of the show....so very cute.

More to come on Day 3....Lunch and dinner pictures....stay tuned.....

Early morning is my fav time at Disney too!! I loved taking a walk at CBR while everyone else still slept (oldest DS sometimes joins me - makes it more magical :thumbsup2). I think the Poly has to be the best Deluxe just for that reason. Can't see taking a walk around the grounds at CR, and at the Beach Club, I had to take an elevator and walk through the lobby to go out in the morning - killed my mood!

We're staying Garden View and I requested 3rd floor - for the balcony - but now I'm thinking 1st floor would be better....

Your description of watching wishes on your patio makes me regretful of our GV room. I guess I should just be happy to go...AND to stay at Poly at all!:thumbsup2

:lmao: Don't get me wrong...I really, really like the CR, but you are so right...not much to look at as far as "grounds" go at CR

I requested 3rd floor, too...after a couple of days of walking straight out of my room onto the grass and beach....I quickly changed my mind. It was nice, too, because the kids could go play on the grass in front of the room while we sat on the patio.

:thumbsup2

We actually booked GV CL, then when 40% came out last Jan....I upgraded to TPV CL. Not sure I would pay rack rate, though.......but then again....after our great experience....I might:confused3. In all honesty, I would be happy to just be at the Poly....can't beat it!

I didn't realize they had GV CL...I thought it was only LV & TPV? :confused3

Love the report! I am nervous about the buses...if we want to make RD for AK and HS what time should we be at the Poly bus stop? Thanks!

The Hawaii Longhouse faces the beach. Those rooms are TPV and LV. I believe it use to be all TPV, but a few of the rooms have trees obstructing the castle view. The backside of the Longhouse is strictly GV and faces the quiet pool.

The buses weren't too bad, but not great...they come from the CR, so there were people already on there. We gave ourselves an hour...give or take...to get there. Meaning, we were at the bus stop 1 hour prior to RD. We were there in plenty of time....I just like to be really early;)

Great report! We were at the poly the same week as you...it's such a lovely resort and can't beat the monorail!!

Thanks for sharing your trip!

Aimee

OMG!!! What a great rate!!! Are you kidding me? I had no idea. My DH just did a double take when he saw $149 per night....that's a steal! Will certainly check this out. Thanks for the info! By the way...I teach 8th grade Lang. Arts. We got out of school really early this year...May 14th....so we hit WDW early.

Yes, I know it's a heck of a deal and I just can't ever pass it up. Even though we love the Poly, it allows us to stay CL when we go by saving so much money at the Dolphin! There's a great thread on the resort board about the Swan/Dolphin - you should check it out! I love the Dolphin it's absolutely beautiful and their customer service is amazing. The location is fantastic, the restaurants are awesome and the theming is gorgeous! Wow, you guys are out so early this year!!!! We don't get out until June 22! It's crazy!!! The kids are bouncing off the walls right now!

Beautiful morning pictures! Nothing can beat those grounds and view first thing in the AM! Just gorgeous!! :goodvibes

Your trip report is awesome so far! We're staying CL TPV for the first time this Sept. I requested the first floor. Maybe we'll be in the same room you were! We've stayed at The Poly 4 times before, but always GV. This year I decided to stay CL GV. Then one night I decided to go for it and change it to TPV. After seeing your pictures, I'm so glad!
Can't wait to read the rest of your report! I'm subbing....
:woohoo:

Joining in. Great report so far. Love the Poly pictures.

One quick question though. Did you like being on the first floor? :)

Loving your report - like the others have said, the early morning shots are gorgeous.
