If you are looking for a great value.....DON'T LOOK AT CL! If you are looking for convenience.....LOOK HERE! CL is awesome.:dance3: I utilized the IPOs quite a bit. They were wonderful. I can't say enough about the Poly IPOs. The Hawaii Longhouse is very convenient to everything at the Poly....especially the Volcano pool and beach.

The food offerings in the evening were very tasty, BUT they (IMO) are only appetizers. It wasn't enough for us to make a meal from. The plates are smaller plates...not dinner plates. I will say that some people simply amaze me....while standing in line for food, people were taking 2 and 3 plates of food per person while filling them to the max. :confused3 It's not like you can't go back and get more! One word for these people....WOW!

CL has a nice selection of adult beverages. Their punch (it has a name...I forgot it) was outstanding!!!! Once again....people acted as if they couldn't have seconds. One man took and entire bottle of wine for himself. Perhaps this is acceptable....what do I know? This is my first CL stay ;) My husband also saw a man grab a big tray and loaded it up with Cokes, Diet Cokes, and Sprites...around 12...and took it back to his room. Once again....perhaps this is acceptable....I don't know???

It was really nice having lemonade, tea, and punch ALL day long. Also, the soda refrigerator was always full! The Cast Members did a great job of keeping it stocked.

I did not get a picture of the dessert offerings. I was a little disappointed in them, but not too big of a deal for us....we were stuffed anyway when we returned at night. I usually just went up and got an adult bev before retiring for the night;)

The lounge felt very spacious...of course we were usually there early or late, so perhaps we didn't get a good feel for the crowds. The kids and I came up for snacks during the middle of the day and sat right by the window while watching the boats and people....very cool!

I didn't make a picture of the breakfast offerings, either. They were very good and plenty of food for a decent breakfast.....fruit, cereal, pastries, oatmeal, juice, coffee....oh and did I mention the Cappuccino machine...LOVED IT!!!!

This is not a great photo, I know...but I wanted everyone to see what a great view we had for breakfast....very magical sitting early in the morning eating breakfast while having a great view of the castle. The kids really, really loved this!!!! FYI....if you want a good seat...get there early!

Not too many negatives about CL....REALLY! All Cast Members were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the day. I was impressed by their willingness to help and all the patience they have!!!! Some people can be so rude and demanding, and the CMs continue to do their jobs with a smile. Would I return to the Poly CL??? IN A HEARTBEAT!!!!!!!!

hey! Joining in! loving the TR and the pics so far...gotta love that castle view from your room! Can't wait for more!

Yay! Followed you over from the Poly thread! We're Poly CL after our stint at the Dolphin (love that teacher rate!). Can't wait! Love your pics and your TR so far. Thank you for sharing!!!!

I'm a teacher, too. What "teacher" rate are you talking about? I love discounts!!!:thumbsup2

The Dolphin and Swan offer several different discounted rates - if you are a government employee, nurse, and teacher or support staff. Last November I got a beautiful room at the Dolphin for 129/night. This July, I'm paying 149. Can't be beat for the location and quality of the Dolphin/Swan!!! So we're staying there for the first 7 nights and at the Poly our last 4 nights. What do you teach?

Good trip report so far! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 The poly sounds rlly
great, and ur pics are nice!

cant wait to read more!

Joining in, love all the Poly pics! I stayed at the Beach Club CL at the beginning of May and I had to laugh when I read your description of the people overdoing it with the food and drinks! :rotfl: You would think these people were never going to eat again in their lives! We took a soda here and there back to our room and every time we did it, I felt like we were stealing! :rotfl2:

Love the report so far. :thumbsup2 Looks like you had a dream trip! The detailed pictures have me so excited for upcoming Poly stay! I am definitely a planner, so I am looking forward to learning how you managed to use the food offerings at CL, have ADRs, and still have enough park time.

OMG!!! What a great rate!!! Are you kidding me? I had no idea. My DH just did a double take when he saw $149 per night....that's a steal! Will certainly check this out. Thanks for the info! By the way...I teach 8th grade Lang. Arts. We got out of school really early this year...May 14th....so we hit WDW early.

Great report. We are staying TPV poly in October and requested 1st floor. Glad you had a nice trip.

Oh yikes...I never should have started reading this report. Never thought I could ever justify CL til now.

Really enjoying your report...it's wonderful! Makes me feel like I am right back there...only better. Concierge!

The punch is named after a former CL CM--it is called Ku'ulei's Punch. She is still at the Polynesian but tends to work out front greeting and is involved in activities there.

IMO, Taking a whole bottle of wine for personal consumption is not acceptable. On the other hand, we have been told to feel free to stock our personal refrigerators with soda. Water is also available for your room if you would like one of the glass bottles. :thumbsup2

Great pictures--I'm really going to miss Chef Dick when we go! :sad2:

You are brave to do the DxDDP with CL! I found that it was too much for us just having the regular DDP and CL. I felt that we spent too much time either trying to take advantage of the lounge or trying to make our ADR's. :)

Good TR so far! :goodvibes

You will fall in love with the Poly!!!:lovestruc The CL really spoiled us. If you are looking for a value...it isn't....if you are looking for convenience....IT IS!!! Loved being able to go back and forth from the pool and get drinks and snacks. Hope you have a great visit!

We were able to get a 40% pin for the room - otherwise we'd never be able to do it - and we can still only swing four nights, but I can't wait. Hopefully it won't spoil us for future trips!

Kaffinito (thanks!) sent me over and she is right - enjoying your TR! Great pics...can't wait to read more about the trip. :)

(p.s. AS is one of the few resorts where will we will never stay - but if I had to for one ngt would avoid Movies like the plague - the other AS's have been refurbed, wonder why Disney has not gotten to Movies - definitely overdue. The AS lobby makes me dizzy just looking at pics. ;) ).

As we say in Savannah, GA...."Thanks, Y'all".... for all the nice comments. It has been really fun doing a TR....kinda lets me relive my trip ;) Lots of work, though...but fun. I'm still learning and getting ideas from other peoples' TRs.

Thanks again! Will keep plugging away....only on Day 2....still have 7 to go:thumbsup2
