9 days 2 resorts FREE Dining Christmas Lights & a bouncing Tigger who stole my heart

Oh, Chef Mickey's!! That was our first character meal EVER!! Way back in 2004 we had breakfast there with my parents, my MIL and kids. Paige was 11 mos. and was scared of the characters. She cried when they got too close! Such memories.

I may have to go back there again...

Great report on Chef Mickey's Shelly! It looked like it was a lot of fun and a lot choices of food at the buffet. Beautiful day and view of Magic Kingdom from your seats too. What a nice way to start your day. :cool1:

:goodvibes
I always like to read about those restaurants I know I'll never go to-- CM's is one of them. I've never even been on that floor of the Contemporary.

The food looked good- there were a few things that sent my Germaphobe self into a panic- but other than that it looked good.:lmao:

When you were talking about whether to walk or ride the monorail- I was saying "Oh I hope they walked!"-- it is really not far at all and such a nice walk.

We parked there for our dinner at Cali Grill and TOLD the guard we were going to leave our car there to go over to the MK afterwards for a couple hours of EMH. She actually told us to walk b/c it was such a nice night. :upsidedow

Great report-- and Minnie-- so cute with your DS.:lovestruc

Chef Mickey's looks great for breakfast!! We went there for the first time last year (for dinner) & walked to MK after - it was a really nice walk. We'll be going back this year, again for dinner. Alex listed CM as his favorite restaurant. :thumbsup2 He's a big fan of the Fab Five! And a buffet is always a good choice for him since he's so picky!

You had a great view... we were more toward the back last year - right by the buffet & the kitchen door. :headache: Now that I've seen that view I'll have to ask to sit near a window. :snooty:

Chef Mickey's looks good! We went there for my DD's 7th birthday in August of 2008 and it was so much fun! We had some great character interaction. Looking forward to reading about more DHS!

OKW does look like a nice resort- especially with all the extra's! Now that you know better next time you can put your foot down and demand a nicer room!

I love the pic of the boys with Goofy! Looks like he was being, well, goofy!

My kids always love CMs...this time it didn't seem as if they had the music as loud as usual....thank goodness....the last time it was so loud we could hardly hear the kids talking to us!

I LOVE your TR! Your boys are so adorable!! Your pictures are great! Love the picture of you and Tigger! Kona Cafe looks scrumptious!! Wondering now if we should skip the O'hana's breakfast and do the Kona Cafe??? I am so sorry about LeCellier, we never have any problems there but we will see in a couple of weeks, It is the meal that I am most looking forward to. Chef Mickey's looks great for breakfast....We always go for dinner, but this year we are going for breakfast! Anyway your pictures are gREAT!! Can't wait for more!

Sorry they stuck you in Outer Mongolia, but OKW looks like a beautiful resort! The lobby is especially pretty. And I would love having the little kitchenette with the frig and microwave, no matter how small it is.

The pics of your boys with the characters at CM's are adorable, especially the ones with Mickey & Minnie! And the food looks good, but thank goodness you were on the DP, because $83 for breakfast for a family of 4 (one who eats grilled cheese hold the cheese :rotfl2: ) is crazy! :crazy2:

Chef Mickey's is always a good time! :thumbsup2 Great to be able to see all those characters without having to wait in line forever.

You should check out that floor of the Contemporary sometime, it has a great vibe to it! :thumbsup2

I was thinking that my buffett pics were probably going to gross out my germaphobe friend JO!! :rotfl:

CM is always worth it for the pics of DS and Minnie! :lovestruc

Thanks Amy!

Buffet's are always a good option for picky eaters. Believe me, I know. We like to try to do at least a few on the trip so we know that DS8 will get filled up!

Yes, OKW was very nice and pretty. :goodvibes

I think Goofy was tickling them in that picture!

YAY Shawna's back!! :cool1: Did you get your computer fixed?

CM has always been loud when we have been there! Loud & crazy!! :rotfl:

Thank you so much and welcome to my TR!! :goodvibes

I would say that we liked the food better at Kona than Ohana. But there are no characters at Kona. So if you were going for the character experience you might want to stick with Ohana. If you are going more for the food and a more relaxed meal the I would say to go with Kona.

I hope you have a great experience at LeCellier! :wizard: And at CM for breakfast!

Outer Mongolia :rotfl2: That about sums it up! :rotfl: But yes, it is a beautiful resort. :goodvibes

Yes, those character meal prices. :sad2::eek: And that $83 for breakfast is cheaper than what it costs to go there for dinner. It is over $100. I'm glad we have done so many character meals while we were on the DDP on the last 4 trips. We have decided that next time we will go for a room discount rather than free dining. It is a bigger savings. So the character meals will probably be out since we will be paying OOP! :scared1:

Grilled cheese - hold the cheese!! :lmao: Aw, you remember my last TR.

LOL at Outer Mongolia......:rotfl2:

Hey- if you're in Outer Mongolia, at least if the world comes falling down around our ankles, you'd be okay.:thumbsup2

The Buffet pictures... you know me well!;) I bet Belle would have been all over those waffles and pastries though. Girl would love to eat at a buffet.

Girl...they hadn't even looked at it!! They said it would ship out maybe Monday:scared1: Then it would be just however long after that!!! I just said forget it....it's not so bad that I can't use it! Obviously!!!!:goodvibes But, we need it for school also....I will just wait till April or May and take it back----not sure why the Geek Squad there couldn't at least look at it and tell me something...I guess they don't do that anymore.

I finally caught up on your report.. Great pictures!!!! We love CM but havent done it for breakfast yet.. We are doing it again on our trip in April/May!!!

I can't believe you won't take that poor girl to a buffet! I know they can be kind of gross, but we lived!! :rotfl:

Hey -- look at your ticker -- 4 MONTHS!!!! :woohoo::cool1::banana:

Oh no! :scared1: I hope it all gets straightened out. That stinks that they would have to ship it out. I don't understand why they can't just work on it in the store either.

Well anyway, I'm glad you're back!! :goodvibes

I'm glad you are back and all caught up! Glad you are enjoying. YAY for going to CM in a few months!! :cool1:

Friday November 13th continued ~

After breakfast at Chef Mickey's we went out to the bus stop and took the bus to DHS. I don't really remember what time it was, but I am going to guess around 11:00 or so. Our goal for DHS was to see the Lights Motors Action stunt show, we didn't see it on the last trip and DH really wanted to see it. And DS10 and I really wanted to take another ride on RNRC since it had been having problems earlier in the week when we were there and we only got to ride it once. DS10 also wanted to ride TOT again, but this time he wasn't getting paid for it!! :rotfl:

DHS was more crowded than it was earlier in the week, but still not terrible.

DisneyNovember2009941.jpg

DS10 and I headed straight for TOT and RNRC to see how long the waits were. DH and DS8 headed for Star Tours.

DisneyNovember2009942.jpg

TOT was a 5 minute wait. DS loved it as much as the first time!

DisneyNovember2009943.jpg

Next up was RNRC.

DisneyNovember2009944.jpg

Wait time said 30 minutes. We were going to get a fastpass and come back later, so we could go meet up with DH & DS8, but then we decided to try the single rider line. There was no time listed in that line. So I asked the CM. She said -- it's usually shorter than the stand-by line, but I can't promise that it will be. :confused3 Okay. We decide to head in anyway and take a look. There were only 2 other people in the single rider line. We saw the preshow and walked right through to the end of the line. We waited about 5 minutes. All the parties in the stand-by line were even numbers at first. Then there was a party of 5. The CM yelled -- single rider row 5. So the man in front of us went. Pretty soon there was a party of 3. The CM yelled -- single rider row 8. The woman in front of us went. DS and I were next. I was going to go first in-case we didn't get on the same ride, then I would be able to wait for him at the end. All the parties were even numbers again. . . I just said to DS -- it looks like we are going to have to wait for the next "Limo" and then the CM yelled -- single rider row 12. And again -- single rider row 12. What??? DS followed me over to the very last row and said -- is this right, I thought we weren't going to be able to ride together? I said -- I guess we lucked out!! :cool1: So we had bypassed all those people in the stand-by line and still got to ride together!!! RNRC seemed to be working great and we had an awesome ride!
