9 days 2 resorts FREE Dining Christmas Lights & a bouncing Tigger who stole my heart

Ugh. I remember reading in one of your other reports ... or maybe a spoiler on the MAYer thread... that Le Cellier wasn't great this time. Such a bummer.

*I* would have been in heaven because I love rare steaks :thumbsup2 but it's pretty ridiculous that they can't get WELL DONE right. I was a chef for years - beleive me when I say that it's the easiest thing to do. :sad2:

I'm angry FOR YOU. But I'm glad that it seems like you didn't let it ruin your night!:cool1:

I'm ready to hear about the rest of the night! :goodvibes

Ugh - not cool Jo.

All the characters should have a personal "handler" who is watching for these kinds of "moves". Now, sometimes, because the costumes are very awkward to wear, hard to see out, and, it gets insanely hot inside their costumes, - they will grab on to you, sometimes in a awkward way, so they don't faint on stage. I have seen a few faint a couple of times.

However, the characters all do know that they are being watched by their handler and/or lead and are now videotaped in all the character greeting areas. It has become a liability issue in last few years for Disney. It is to also protect the characters too. They have been abused in the past by teenagers and crazy adults.

I would definitely report something like that the next time it would happen.

Sea

I love that area where the Winnie the Pooh characters are. Last time we were there, I got groped by a very infatuated, yet shy, Eeyore.:rotfl2: It was love at first sight.:lmao:
I think it's college kids that think they are hawt b/c they have Moms seeking them out in earnest.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

And -- Tigger IS a gentleman.... Eeyore's just a perv.:rotfl2:
He kept hugging and squeezing me. At one point Mark gave him the evil eye.:lmao:

But Chip of Chip and Dale fame did the same thing to me at the Garden Grill- he kept squeezing me. I guess I look like a woman who needs a good groping or something.:lmao:
Mark called him a squirrel and he stomped off mad.:lmao:

Shelly - LC bombed on ya! What a huge bummer! It happens even in the best places at times. I would give them a second chance the next time you are at WDW since you liked it so much in the past. Maybe they will have their act together in the future. - Sea (Those desserts looked awesome though!)

Bummer about your steak :sad2: even bigger bummer about the service associated with it.
I hope I am not overly excited and then disappointed by this.

I also didn't know kids could go to other resort kids clubs - that is cool!

What time did you get out of there?
Our ressie is for 5:55 - I don't want to be there all night.

Sorry the LC meal was such a disappointment, especially since it was on your special date-night. :sad1: I'm with you on the rare meat. I'm not a big meat eater anyway, so if it looks like something that was once alive (as in the slightest bit pink ;)) I won't eat it. I always order steak, on the rare occasion (oh wow, I didn't even mean to do that  ) that we go to a steak restaurant, well-done. My DH fusses at me every time that well-done means dried-out. But I don't care, because it seems like if you don't say well-done, it's going to be pink.

On a side note, what was the yummy-looking drink you had? (The thing in the glass that looked like a dessert?) ;)

Happy Belated Birthday to your DH!

And I hope the rest of your Epcot day was magical! :wizard:

First of all that picture of you and Tigger is definitely a classic! Perfect for a Disney commercial  I couldn't believe the terrible service you got at Le Cellier - we haven't eaten there yet and I was planning on making reservations for our next trip. I think it's a hit-and-miss kind of thing at any restaurant but this was definitely not acceptable.

Thanks a lot Shelly! :headache: After reading your Epcot update I now have added *research KidCot locations and Passports* to my To Do list!

Just kidding. I'm glad you posted it! I almost forgot! :goodvibes Last trip we didn't get to Epcot so I'm hoping to spend a decent amount of time there this time around. I think the kids will like making the masks and it will make it more fun for all of us!

You're welcome! :rotfl:

I hope you get to spend an afternoon chasing down those Kidcot Stops like we did! :goodvibes I bet your kids will really enjoy it!

Love the story behind Tigger! DS took such a wonderful picture for you!

Thanks! :)

:faint:

OMGosh- you know me well--- the blood would've been a deal breaker, not once but twice!!!!!!!!!!:sad2: That is just so very disgustingly gross I can't even put into words how horrible I think it was.
So sorry your meal was such a terrible event-- and you were looking forward to it so much. :headache:

I did have to LOL at the free dining comment--- I know it wasn't funny- but it was a bit ironic.

I've never heard bad things about Le Cellier before a couple of months ago--- and I was able to get ADR's pretty easy for the MAY trip. I wonder if the word has gotten out?

Hope the rest of the trip goes well.:guilty:

I hate your meal turned out so badly! That stinks when you are looking forward to something so much. I do love that Tigger picture, though. Too precious! I think it is great your son thought to take it.

What a disappointment in Le Cellier! Sorry about your experience. That is one of our favorites in Disney. We will still give it a try this trip, but won't try it again if we have an experience like yours!

Wow. :faint: That meal must have been soooooo disappointing. What a bummer! :headache: I would have been devastated! My DH talks about LC all the time...I'll have to tell him what happened...he won't be happy.

Finally - I made it over here today!

This is a AWESOME picture - you should definitely get it framed - in a Disney frame no less! Kudos to the photographer!

Sorry to hear your Le Cellier meal was so bad! I am now wondering if our Le Cellier meal last April was so-so... It wasn't the Le Cellier I remembered, but I was blaming it on having eaten at Teppan Edo for lunch the same day. :confused3 Hmmm... I guess I won't feel too bad if I can't keep our Le Cellier ADR this year.

Ugh. I remember reading in one of your other reports ... or maybe a spoiler on the MAYer thread... that Le Cellier wasn't great this time. Such a bummer.

Thanks so much everyone for all the compliments on the Tigger picture. I will be sure to tell DS that everyone likes his work!! :goodvibes Hey, maybe photopass photography is in his future! :rotfl:

And yes, unfortunately LeCellier was a giant let down this time. I sure hope it was just a fluke and will not happen to any of you headed there soon. I'm sure we will probably give it another chance again someday, just not again in the near future. That's okay though, it will just give me a reason to finally try something different in Epcot!

That's exactly what I was thinking - Well Done should be the easiest one to prepare. That's why I ask for it well done, I want to make sure it is cooked all the way through.

:confused3

Yes, if you are staying at any Disney resort you can use any of the Kid's Clubs. We have only ever used the Sandcastle Club - twice now. The kids absolutely love it and enjoy their time away from us for a few hours!! :rotfl:

I'd say we were at LeCellier for at least an hour and a half. Longer than I would have liked.

On a side note, what was the yummy-looking drink you had? (The thing in the glass that looked like a dessert?) ;)

I had a chocolate milkshake. Nothing exciting!! It wasn't even very good. Sci-Fi's shakes are much better!

I had planned to get a Grey Goose Slushy in France after dinner, but I just wasn't in the mood anymore and didn't think my stomach was up for it!

Well, the problem is that if they were as busy as it seems - that the waiter couldn't even come and see you  that they were "too busy" to make a good well done steak. You need to cook them low and slow so they are done and not dry. :thumbsup2

Ugh.

Did I ever tell you guys that after culinary school I had an opportunity to do my externship at WDW? I want to say that it was at the Crystal Palace, but I can't really remember. I didn't go because I didn't want to leave my boyfriend. How stupid was I?

Mmmmmmm!!!!!MMMMMMMMMM!!!!!! MMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the only thing that would have made it better!

Have you ever had one? Bob and I debate over which is better - the GGLCS or the Grand Marnier slush. I like lemon, he likes orange.

But - this is the same debate that we have when we get Dole whips. I like pineapple and he likes orange. :confused3 He's just wrong I think.... :rolleyes1

Thursday November 12th continued ~

After dinner DH and I slowly walked over to the BC to get the kids. It was a nice, but chilly evening. It was a pleasant walk. :cloud9: The kids had been at the Sandcastle Club for 3 hours and had a blast!! This was when the whole Wii thing came into play. DS10 had played it nearly the entire time and loved it. There were 3 CM's at the kids club. Two were older ladies and one was probably in her early 20's. DS10 had played the Wii with her and apparently she was pretty good at it and kicked his butt in boxing! :rotfl: DS10 informed me that he now wanted a Wii for Christmas.

They were both playing the Wii when we arrived.

From there we casually walked back over to Epcot with no real plan in mind. We knew we weren't staying for IllumiNations since we had already seen it earlier in the week, plus it had been a long day.

DisneyNovember2009879.jpg

We all decided that we had done enough for one day, plus we had to get back to POR and pack up - we were moving to OKW the next day. So we were headed for the exit.

We stopped for a few pics of the Epcot tree at night.

When we walked by Spaceship Earth the kids noticed that there was no wait and asked if we could ride it again. So inside we went!

We got lots of funny pictures and sent our videos home.

From there we took the bus back to POR. As we were walking past the lounge on our way back to the room we noticed Piano Bob again. DS10 wanted to stop, DS8 didn't. So we stopped very briefly and listened to 2 songs and then went back to the room. DH and I got just about everything packed up and ready to move to OKW the next morning. It took us about an hour. Then we all went to bed.

Up Next: Moving to OKW, breakfast at Chef Mickey's, and more DHS.

And the Wii obsession began...

Don't you love Spaceship Earth at night? The lighting is so beautiful! So was that Christmas tree! I may have a picture of that too!

Great pictures and report Shelly! I especially like the e-cards that you can now send from Epcot. That is cool! - Sea

I don't remember you ever telling that story! But then you know how my memory is these days!! :rotfl: WOW! That would have been an awesome experience.

:rotfl2:

I agree with you, pineapple is way better than orange any day!

I did have a Grey Goose Slush a few trips ago and it was very good. :cloud9:

Yes, after we bought the Wii DH said -- see how much money Disney costs us?! :rotfl:

Spaceship Earth is very cool at night. But then so is all of WDW! Everything seems so much different once the sun goes down at Disney. :goodvibes

Love the update!

Can't believe it's already time for you to switch resorts.... didn't you just get there?

Those pics of you guys on SSE are sooo funny. Love that ride.

But I liked it better with Jeremy Irons narrating it.

Thanks for sharing it!

Thanks JO! :goodvibes

Yep, time to switch resorts already. :upsidedow Only 2 more full days to report on and then departure morning. :sad1: Then the long, long wait begins until the next Disney trip. . .

Great update!:) I'm getting sad that your TR is nearing its end! At least you still have a couple of days to report on! Looking forward to reading about CM breakfast...we had a blast there in August of '08!

Sandcastle club looks and sounds great. Glad your boys enjoyed the Wii and were able to get one for Christmas! I might let the kids try Sandcastle club since we are at Beach Club this June. They have never been to any kids clubs yet. Glad you and your DH were able to enjoy a nice dinner. Love your Epcot and spaceship earth pics too.

The kids club looks great!! Sorry your dinner wasn't...

I hope your move went smoothly. :goodvibes
