9 days 2 resorts FREE Dining Christmas Lights & a bouncing Tigger who stole my heart

I could sure go for a Dole Whip right about now. I'm not a fan of the float...I just like the pineapple soft serve. We have an ice cream place around here that sometimes serves it, but it just doesn't taste the same! We've never done the Treehouse (maybe when I was 2yo, but I don't remember that). I seriously have no interest in seeing it. I've also never done Tom Sawyer's Island. Again, just not my thing. I enjoy seeing the pictures though!

woo hoo Shelly---

Know you're busy taking care of business.... update us when ya can. I know it's Christmas and all.....:rotfl2: not like you have nothing better to do.....:lmao:

I would LOVE to have a dole whip float right now.

I think I'm most looking forward to staying at the Poly in May b/c I'm going to go in the mornings for a cup of Kona coffee and in the afternoons I'll be having a Dole WHip.:rotfl: My "extras" budget is rather large.

Hope all is well with you.

Wednesday November 11th continued ~

So where were we? Oh yeah, we had just conquered the Treehouse and had some yummy Dole Whips! We had no real plan of attack for MK this day, so we were just kind of going with the flow. When we go to MK at opening we always have a plan - Fantasyland first before the lines get huge. But with no real plan for today, next we decided to head over to Tomorrowland. A few pics on the way ~

We went straight for Buzzlightyear. Wait time was 10 minutes.

Next up was TTA ~

Then we walked around Tomorrowland a bit. Space Mtn. was still closed for refurbishment. Bummer. No one was interested in the Carousel of Progress. We haven't been back on that since our very first trip. Maybe next time. Somehow we missed Monsters Inc. I can't believe the kids didn't ask to do it.

We were getting hungry and it was right around 5:45. We decided we better grab some dinner before it got any later and more crowded in the restaurants. We were going to Cosmic Ray's for the first time. We walked in and the place was completely packed. We thought about leaving, but figured everywhere else was probably just as crowded. This is why we usually try to eat dinner around 5:00 at Disney! Not sure what happened this day, but we were a bit behind. I could see when we walked in that you had to go to one counter for chicken and another for burgers. Both lines were long, but the chicken line was slightly shorter, so we got in it. Not sure how long we waited, but it seemed like a very long time. Once we finally got our food, finding a table was another chore. But we did eventually find one, and had to clean it off ourselves.

DH got a grilled chicken sandwich, fries, and a brownie. DS10 got the pb&j and fries. DS8 wasn't that hungry, so I just got the 8 piece chicken nuggets, fries, and chocolate cake for us to share. The food was fresh. It was okay. Nothing great, but not too bad either. It was just very crowded and very loud, so the atmosphere wasn't great. Service was slow, but the CM's were nice.

We used 3 CS credits and the total bill was $34.

Next the kids decided that they wanted to ride Cinderella's Golden Carousel for the very first time! They never wanted to do this before because it is "too girly". Not sure what changed their minds this time, but they had fun on it! We all rode it once with no wait and then the boys went back on for another ride with no wait.

When the boys got off of their second ride we turned around and it was then that I noticed that the Castle Lights were on!!

DisneyNovember2009698.jpg

I knew they were lighting it up for MVMCP but wasn't sure if they were lighting it up on the other nights just yet or not. So this was a very pleasant surprise!! We were behind the castle of course, but I wanted to get out front to get pictures ASAP! So we grabbed the kids and headed around the castle. Only to be stopped by the Spectromagic parade. And a huge crowd. We were on the path to the right if you were standing right in front of the castle. There were a few photopass photographers there, so we got some "side shots" of the castle in it's pretty Christmas lights! But after that we were trapped to that side of the castle until the parade was over. So I would just have to wait to get my pictures. :sad1:

Here is what we got from the side ~

Next Up: Killing time before Wishes ~ Tea Cups, Winnie the Pooh, Castle Lights, Main Street Lights/Decorations. :santa: And finally Wishes!

Great update!

Those lights on the castle are so pretty! I want to see them one day for myself. sigh-- it will have to wait.:goodvibes

Cosmic Rays--- I like their rotisserie chix-- I think it's the only thing I've ever gotten from there. But the lines are always long and the going to two different places for your food is rather annoying. And yep- it's always packed in there.
Well, at least you've tried it now. Now you know.:)

Yay for the carousel. We always ride it and I always get ill. Round and round and round does not do me well. The older I get the more motion sickness I get.:confused3

The two pics of the conveyor belt-- going onto TTA--- I had to do a double take-- the girl behind your boys looks just like MCat!!!! The blonde--- I swear I got up close to the computer and looked. Her twin for sure.

The boys look like they are enjoying their wonderful trip so much.... :cloud9:

Looking forward to WIshes!!!

I meant to try Tom Sawyer Island this time, but it just didn't happen. Not my thing either, but I'm sure the boys would love it. It's at the top of the list for next time!

Thanks JO! :goodvibes Glad you enjoyed the update, because apparently you are the only one reading today!!! That's okay, I know everyone is busy busy this week!:goodvibes

Yeah, I don't know what it was about Cosmic Ray's. . . I am used to food courts where we have to use different lines, I guess I could just tell from the crowds and the confusion that if we went to seperate lines we wouldn't all be eating together.

Oh didn't I tell you that I ran into your MCat on the TTA??? She made me promise not to tell her momma! :rotfl: J/K!

I forgot to mention my conveyor belt story. After we got off the ride one of the boys heard one of his pins fall off his lanyard. So we were all looking down on the ground for it. While we were on the moving platform. I was facing backwards and didn't realize that I was coming to the regular non-moving part and when I hit it I about fell on my behind!! :rotfl2: The CM (who was helping us look for the pin) says -- oh careful hon! :lmao:

I'm here I'm here!!!:yay:
I just don't get the full effects (ie: pictures) until I get home, so I don't have much to comment on!
BTW...is there a pic of you falling on your behind? :confused3
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
(And I'm laughing WITH you, not at you...you are laughing, right??):rolleyes1

YAY someone else is here today!! :yay:

Sorry you can't see the pics until later. Nope, no pictures of me almost falling on my behind!! :rotfl:

Love the bubbles on Main Street- that was one of my kids favorite parts of the trip!

You definitely have to visit Monsters Inc next trip- it was hilarious!

We missed Tom Sawyer's island this past trip too but am hoping to squeeze it in this next time. I think the kids would love it!

Sorry to hear you fell on your behind. :lmao: No really I am! No seriously I'm laughing with you not at you! :rotfl:

My kids always have to stop for bubbles, no matter what we are doing or where we are heading!

We usually do Monsters Inc a few times each trip, but somehow we didn't see it either time we were at MK this trip. :confused3

Now let me restate that I almost fell on my behind! It wasn't pretty but I did save myself!! :lmao: But hey, I'm glad I could provide everyone with a laugh today!

I've been reading along today too - but didn't have any witty comments like Jo!!
No, I was at work and in court so I couldn't type much.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas Shelly!! (and all of your loyal readers too! (that means you Jo!)):santa:

Wednesday November 11th continued ~

It seemed we were trapped to the right side of the castle because of the Spectromagic parade. While we love the parade we had just seen it on our last trip so the kids were not interested in finding a spot and waiting around for an hour for it to start, so that's why we weren't watching it. So after we got some side shots of the castle in all it's pretty lights and could see that we weren't getting any closer for the time being the kids decided they wanted to ride the Mad Tea Party. I don't do the tea cups. There are very few things I won't ride, one being Mission Space and the other the tea cups. Just can't do enclosed or spiny I guess. There was no wait. DH rode with the kids once and then they rode again by themselves.

With more time to kill we decided to ride the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. There was no wait. We don't usually ride this anymore unless we have time to spare & there is no wait.

DisneyNovember2009719.jpg

DisneyNovember2009720.jpg

After that we could see that the parade had made it's way past the castle and we could finally go see the front of it all lit up!!
