9 days 2 resorts FREE Dining Christmas Lights & a bouncing Tigger who stole my heart

I think you would be a great gingerbread CM!! :goodvibes Except you might get in trouble for eating too much of the display! :rotfl:

It was very neat to actually see them working on it.

I'm so glad you are enjoying the TR so much! :cool1:

awwwwww- you're such a good friend, encouraging my Gingerbread making dreams--- even though we both know I'd stink at it.:lmao::hug:

I would end up eating way too much Gingerbread--- but your DS could visit and I'd give him a whole bunch to munch on while he fought off evil dude that wears black and is in Star wars..... what's his name???/

Oh yes! Took me a minute but I remembered. Darth Vader.:woohoo:
He could fight evil with Gingerbread!

Okay- that's it- I'm delirious from exhaustion. Off to bed.
Have a good night!

Jo

I actually don't use a real touring plan. I do go by a few things though. I go by the "busiest days in each park" list on AllEars, which I can't find on their website right now to show you, but I have it written in my notes. I found it on AllEars after our very first trip, and boy was it right. We had done everything completely wrong!

Busiest days:
MK ~ Mon, Thur & Fri, then Sun
Ep ~ Tues & Fri
DHS ~ Sun, Wed, then Sat
AK ~ Mon, Tues & Wed

So I take that and cross reference it with the EMH's (which I also avoid) and totally avoid those parks on those days if at all possible. And I have to say it has worked great!! :cool1:

That's pretty much what we do, too! We're not too early of risers, and we poop out around firework time, so we're not EMH doers.

I forgot to ask...wasn't there was a question of you going to DHS when the added the extra Fantasmic night (or am I totally making this up??????) Anyway, how did it turn out? Last year I think both of us made the mistake of going to DHS on a Fantasmic night when they were only doing it twice a wk and it was C-R-O-W-D-E-D!!!

Great report on the GF and the Gingerbread house! You may have just missed the finished product by 1 day, but you lucked out and got to see the Osborne lights!! Definitely a good trade-off, IMO. :cool1:

I'm in total agreement on the gingerbread. I am a sweet-aholic, but never have liked gingerbread, or ginger snap cookies, or spice flavored anything. Yuk! (There is no appropriate smilie for yuk. I would put a  but it doesn't actually give me a fever.)

Thanks! Yes, you are absolutely right, we sure lucked out on the Osborne Lights! :thumbsup2 So a half done gingerbread house isn't too bad!! :rotfl:

And yes, ginderbread -- too spicy or something. Yuck! Give me chocolate anyday!!

I'm another one who doesn't care for Gingerbread.... I'm not a big 'spiced' anything fan. :confused3 and I definately am not a fan at all of the GF. :sad2:

But some of you already know that story. I just think it's very stuffy and a *little* too pretentious for us. :snooty: <--- Not in an awesome MAYer way either.

But still, I would like to see the gingerbread house :goodvibes

I don't think I remember a GF story. . . popcorn::

I'm really only on page 19 but I'm totally LOVING your TR and all your info...my DS's 1st trip will be in April and he too LOVES Star Wars and is in the same age group...Thanks so much for taking the time to share your trip with us:goodvibes

Welcome!! :goodvibes Glad you are here and that you are enjoying the TR!

I hope your DS has a fantastic first trip. Don't forget to go to Once Upon a Toy in DTD, LOTS of Star Wars stuff there, plus the Build You Own Lightsaber! And of course the Star Tours ride in DHS, and the store it exits into. And the Jedi Training Acadmey next to it! My boys were chosen to do this on our last trip and they were in their glory fighting Darth Vador!!

You mean this guy --> :darth:

I'll tell DS about your plan to fight evil with gingerbread!! :rotfl:I think he'll like that idea!

ok...all caught up now:yay:

Glad you are caught up! :goodvibes Hope you are enjoying!
That's pretty much what we do, too! We're not too early of risers, and we poop out around firework time, so we're not EMH doers.

Last year I think both of us made the mistake of going to DHS on a Fantasmic night when they were only doing it twice a wk and it was C-R-O-W-D-E-D!!!

Yes, that was me!!

The day I had planned on DHS for was a non-Fantasmic day. After what I experienced in January at DHS on a Fantasmic day I was avoiding that at all costs!! :scared1: What a nightmare that was. Probably the most crowded I've ever seen a park.

So when I was planning for November they were showing Fantasmic twice a week again. But then later they added more shows. Including 2 on my DHS day! :sad2: But it was too late to change things around, so I just stuck with it and hoped for the best. And it wasn't bad! Most wait times were very short most of the day. I could notice the park getting more crowded later in the day, but it never really affected the wait times. I think lots of people were coming in for Fantasmic and/or the Osborne Lights. I don't know how crowded Fantasmic was that night, but it sure was crowded at the Lights!

Shelly- did you miss not seeing F! this trip? We aren't going in May-- I'm avoiding it like the plague!

That's that dude! Darth. The only thing I remember about Star wars was some fat slug looking thing, those really tall funky looking machines that walked, and that black dressed Darthdude saying "Luke, I am your Fatha'..." or something like that.

Oh and I know there was a character called Obi wan kanobi, but only b/c Marky calls me 'jodi One Kanobi' when he's teasing me.

Couldn't tell you what that character looks like.

But yes--- fighting evil-- one Gingerbread at a time. Your son and I could be lethal.:)

Wednesday November 11th continued ~

So here it was Day 5 and we were finally making it to MK!! I want to say it was about 1:30-2:00 when we arrived via the monorail from the GF.

DisneyNovember2009607.jpg

After we entered a CM gave me a card for the Princess and the Frog movie voucher. It had a code on it and when I got home I went online and printed out one free child's movie ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket. DS8 and I are hoping to go see it tomorrow!

As we entered MK we noticed all the beautiful Christmas decorations! They were everywhere.

DisneyNovember2009616.jpg

The park didn't seem crowded at all!!! :woohoo: There was a CM taking pictures right there front and center before you head down Main Street. The spot had a great Christmas background. There was no one in line. So we headed over. I am so glad we did because when we came back later on the weekend the line was HUGE!!

DisneyNovember2009613.jpg

DisneyNovember2009614.jpg

Next we took a stroll up main street towards the castle. Taking our time and taking in all the wonderful decorations.

We headed to the left side of the castle and straight for the HM!! For those of you who didn't read my PTR, none of us had ever been on the HM before. And everyone on my PTR made fun of me for it!! So I was riding that thing even if I had to do it all by myself!!!

Continued. . . .

And we were finally there :scared1: ~

Wait time was 15 minutes!!

The kids were scared but very determined to conquer their fears and ride this thing!! DS8 was doing fine. DS10 was starting to breathe hard and his heart was pounding as we entered the first room. I was standing behind him with my arms wrapped around him. When they shut the door he said he wanted to leave! I told him it was too late and that he'd be fine. And of course he was!! He rode with me and DS8 rode with DH. And they both loved every minute of it!! They couldn't believe they had missed it all these years! :faint:

Next up was the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness!! BTMRR!! We all really like this one, except for DS8, he could take it or leave it. He's not really a coaster guy. Wait time said 30 minutes, but I think we waited more like 20.

DisneyNovember2009634.jpg

DisneyNovember2009635.jpg

After that we were headed for POTC. But we got stopped on the bridge in front of SplashMtn because of the afternoon parade. So we stood there for about 10 minutes waiting for it to pass and then there were people everywhere when it was over! :scared1: But we eventually made our way over to the POTC. Love this ride everytime!

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a beautiful sight to behold--- MK decked out in Christmas gear! And the pics of Adventureland had me grinning from ear to ear.

So glad you guys rode HM--- the pics of the outside were great! And POTC.... welll- it is wonderful. It's one of my fave's. But you really must go see the one in DL.;) At least once.:wizard:

Thanks yet again for a great update to your trip!:goodvibes

No, I didn't really miss Fantasmic. I mean, I do really like it. But I got to see the Osborne Lights, so I was good! :thumbsup2 But even if we hadn't seen the Lights I would have been okay with missing Fanstamic. I got to see Wishes and IllumiNations. As long as I see 2 out of the 3 of them on a trip I am happy. :goodvibes

Oh I know, all that Star Wars stuff. I've never watched a movie the whole way through. The kids watch it all the time, so I see bits & pieces. I'm just not interested enough (or at all :rotfl:) to sit and watch a whole movie of it. Bad mom, I know. :confused3

I'm glad we finally rode the HM too!

I have DL on my list of places to go - someday! :cloud9:

You are not a bad mom for not watching Star Wars. I went to see them when I was a kid, not that I understood the plot or anything - but now I cannot watch them, they make no sense to me and I drive my family nuts trying to make sense of it... I guess is is suppose to be non-sense .

Loved the update... was the wait for POTC long after the parade? I was worried once the parade was done for that area of Frontierland, everyone heads for a particular attractions.

I am so glad you all liked HM ! I sure hope DD rides with me this time as I missed alot of the refurb on our last trip - too busy trying to calm her down. Maybe if I pay her $5 :lmao:????

That's just it. I don't get Star Wars. And I just don't have the interest to try! :rotfl:

I must have forgotten to post the POTC wait time. I was worried it would be long too right after the parade, but I think we waited 5-10 minutes at the most. Not long at all!

Hey, if all else fails try bribery!!

:banana: YEA! I'm so glad everyone loved Haunted Mansion!:banana:
I would have felt bad if any of you hated it after all our buildup. :goodvibes

Shelly - Great pics of MK! I am so glad you all rode Haunted Mansion! Did you guys eat anywhere special that day? I am enjoying your TR a lot. :D

I'm glad we finally rode the HM and we all really liked it!!

Nope, we didn't eat anywhere special that day. It was our no ADR day, because we had 2 ADR's the next day! So on our MK day we had lunch at POR before we left the resort, and then dinner at Cosmic Ray's. . . more on that later!

 Love the MK decked out for Christmas!

Now I really want to go at this time of year. The crowd levels look so low.

I am so glad your DS survivied HM and not only survived it, but loved it. I love all jokes from that ride.

Now here is my question of the day:

When did this guy start showing up in living color? :confused3

DisneyNovember2009640.jpg

When I have riden he is just the same color as the water.

Glad you liked the pictures! :santa:

The crowds were very low during the week. It was a little busier on the weekend.

Hmm. . . I think that guy has always looked like that. As far as I can remember anyway. . . :confused3

Glad ya'll love the Haunted Mansion!!! Isn't it the creepiest fun ride you ever did? I have loved that since I was a little girl!!! When I was a kid, they didn't have the murdering bride up in the attic....she's terrible! ha!!
I know we have talked about it in the past...can't remember now..what kind of camera do you have? I am thinking about a new one...I have a Canon and I looove it, but they have one with better zoom quality and just a bit better I think than the one I have...just curious...your pics are all looking great!!!
