9 days 2 resorts FREE Dining Christmas Lights & a bouncing Tigger who stole my heart

Thanks! :goodvibes

That's what worries me about spending a week at a Deluxe -- no food court. Why don't they have them??? We usually eat at the food court about 3 times. I know they all have some sort of CS options, just very limited. Oh well, I guess they make up for it in other ways!

I think it is because they have TS restaurants instead of the food courts. I will admit that a food court would be a nice thing to have, though, at the Poly.

I got an awesome PIN email yesterday!!! :woohoo: Guess Disney wants us to come back next year pretty bad!! Here it is:

YAY! :yay: We actually got that one too! :thumbsup2 Not sure if we will be able to use it though! I would love to go back much later next year with just DH and me. We are thinking of the best way to use our airfare vouchers we will get from the fiasco with our January airfare! :rolleyes1

You didn't like the Magic cookie bar? They are my absolute FAVE!!! I probably ate about a dozen of them back in January! They are so yummy! :lovestruc

What lovely pictures you took of the Food Court! We plan to eat there at least 1x in January! I feel like I already know my way around a little bit! :thumbsup2

Face it, they know they have you and you'll come without a pin code! LOL Someone else on the boards was there for a Food and Wine weekend trip and she got a pin after she got back too. Maybe it's after you get back that is the key. I'll post if I get one after my upcoming trip.

Yep! They know that we've been coming for 12 years now and we'll book with or without a code. Darn it!

Glad to see you are back and started on your trip report! Hope you had as great of a time as we did!

I've already booked the vacation and have been paying on it for a while now. I've registered on the Disney site using two other emails I have. I've priced out vacations, saved vacation offers, etc. and still no darn pin!

Yep, that's probably it. They know you will book anyway. See, they know I'm too cheap to book without a PIN! :rotfl:

Yay Shelly started her TR!!! What great pics so far. I love that you took a pic of the mickey ear shelf with *pixie* dust (as you say) on them. You think by now Disney would remember to dust that spot but in every room there it is.
The pic of you and Tigger is absolutely priceless. Nothing like Disney to bring out the kid in you! Was it luck or is Tigger there always and I've just never known it?

YAY Kim's here!! :cool1:

Yes, always gotta get a picture of the "pixie-dust" shelf! :rotfl:

I think Tigger & Pooh are usually there in the UK during the day. We only happened upon them because they are right by the Kidcot stop.

Yep, food courts at the deluxes would be nice!

Guess I haven't heard about your January airfare fiasco. . . Doesn't sound good. :sad2:

Nope, didn't much care for the magic cookie bar. :confused3 Not sure what it was about it.

Great trip report

Thank you! :)

Glad to see you are back and started on your trip report! Hope you had as great of a time as we did!

Yep, we're back. :sad1: Fastest week of the year! But we had a wonderful time! :goodvibes

Glad to hear your trip was great too!

Well then , if you find yourself with a few minutes of spare time, you should wander on over to my PTR and find out all about it! ;) It really isn't a "fiasco", more of a slight complication! All is well now! :goodvibes

Hey honey!! I made it over here, hope you saved me a seat?

The photos of port orleans are great, it looks like such a lovely resort! The pix of the food have made me so hungry!! I shouldnt read a trip report on an empty stomach should I

I can't wait to read more and find out what the first cute photo with tigger is all about :goodvibes

YAY for the code by the way!! Those are some great discounts!! :thumbsup2

I just read the first 4 pages. Will try to catch up with the whole thing later! I need to run to the school now and get everything all set up for Santa's Workshop, it starts next Tuesday when the kids come back from Thanksgiving break.

Sounds like the airfare fiasco turned out in your favor with the vouchers!! I bet you are planning the next trip already!

Hey JoJo! :goodvibes Glad you made it. We are just getting started!!

I hope you are feeling better soon and you have the best trip ever! I can't believe you are leaving in 2 days!! :yay:

Hopefully I will be able to post an update after I get back from the school.

I apologize in advance for this very boring post with very few pictures. :guilty: Even after having a very good dinner at the POR food court I still wasn't feeling very well. Looking back we should have just gone to bed, but the kids wanted to do something so we headed out to Epcot.

A POR picture at dusk.

DisneyNovember2009037.jpg

We went to the main bus stop at POR and an Epcot bus pulled up within about 5 minutes. Very quick bus ride - about 5 minutes and we were there. But the bus driver let us off in the middle of the parking lot. It was funny because I had just heard another DISer complain of this and I wondered what they were talking about. Now I know. Right out in the middle of the parking lot she stopped and opened the doors. We could see the one row of WDW bus stops, but she didn't pull up to them. As if the bus stops at Epcot aren't far enough away from the entrance, we now had an even further walk. Maybe she was done for the night and was parking her bus there. Who knows.

As soon as we made it into Epcot I knew it was a mistake. My kids aren't ones for waiting in long lines. Spaceship Earth had a line as we walked past. There's never a line for that! But I knew it was the end of Jersey Week and kind of expected this sort of thing. Luckily that was the only day we had much of any long lines to contend with! The times board said 60 minutes for Soarin and TT. We opted for Soarin, hoping that it would be less time than stated. As we entered the line people were exiting from the line. We thought that was weird, but we headed in anyway. Pretty soon more people started leaving. After we stood in the same spot for 20 minutes without moving we decided to leave too. Not sure what was going on there but we weren't hanging around to find out! We walked over to The Seas and rode the Nemo ride and looked at the fish quickly afterwards. The kids wanted to do Spaceship Earth, I wanted to leave. So we did Spaceship Earth! :rotfl: They just love the little video at the end and we sent it to ourselves and to my parents.

Pictures from our videos ~ sorry about the flash. I did figure out how to turn the flash off after that and actually got some great pictures throughout the week without the flash.

After that we headed out to the POR bus stop where we waited a good 20 minutes for a bus and it was completely full because it was going to POR & POFQ. I think they should seperate the 2 resorts for Epcot buses like they do for MK buses. We always had to stand on the Epcot buses.

Got back to the room and got a good nights sleep for our first full day on Sunday! Sunday would bring a morning full of exploring POR and an afternoon of AK and dinner at WCC.

Again, sorry for the lack of excitement and pictures in this post. It will get better, I promise! :goodvibes

Shelly - it was fine! You probably weren't as excited because you weren't feeling well! I always love the pictures of Spaceship Earth at night. Maybe this trip I can take a good one!

I think maybe I am the Diser you are talking about that got let off in the middle of the Epcot parking lot. Isn't it the weirdest thing ever? That was the first time we had ever been let off anywhere except for the actual bus stop.

I'm sorry that you weren't feeling well and that the lines at Epcot were really long. Hopefully, that's not how the rest of the trip ends up.

Yes, I just really felt crappy -- for lack of a better word! (headache, stomach ache, leg cramps) Not sure why, but travel day always does that to me. :confused3 Even though we didn't have to get up early I was still exhausted.

I think I got some more Spaceship Earth pictures later in the trip too!

I think it was you now that you say that! I remember walking off the bus thinking that I had read about this. See, I was thinking of you while I was at Disney!! :rotfl:

The lines got much shorter after that day, thankfully! And I was feeling much better the next morning. But only to get a terrible migraine that evening. And believe me, WCC is no place to be with a headache. :sad2:

But after that I felt great all week! :goodvibes I think it was a combination of things that were causing me to not feel so great the first few days -- all the travel, turning the clocks back the previous weekend was still messing with me, maybe the climate change, eating a different times than normal. :confused3 Who knows, my body is weird!!

Awww, I feel all special and mushy 'cause you thought about me at Disney. Wait, you kinda sorta thought about me.....I'll still take it as a compliment.:lmao:

I get migraines all the time. My neurologist said to keep lemons and lemon juice handy as lemons are a natural antihistamine and help the blood flow. If you can't get lemons, drink some really strong lemonade. It really does help.

You should feel special!

I seem to be getting them more and more. :sad2: I hadn't heard that about lemons before. Too bad I didn't know that. There's always that really strong lemonade at Disney! I'll keep that in mind for next time. A lot of times I think I need caffeine. That's why I bring my own Mtn Dew to WDW. They don't sell it. But most times I could feel a migraine coming on I was in the parks and my Mtn Dew was pack in the room! :faint:

Also, if you can't get to lemons or lemonade, a dill pickle will sometimes help. I keep lemons or lemon juice on hand all the time. If the headache is really bad, I pour about a half cup lemon juice concentrate in a glass, stir in some salt and drink it a few sips at a time. It's strong but it works.

Oh, that's good info on the lemons! I get sinus headaches, I wonder if it would help. I'm going to get lemonade with my lunch today.
