We had priority seating for Ohana today at 10 am, but we just couldn’t get up and get ready this morning. We were all so dead tired, so we decided to sleep in a little. We had breakfast at the food court again. Our usual muffin and cereal breakfast. Then we headed to Downtown Disney. We enjoyed Downtown—maybe it was less hustle and bustle and less crowds, but we liked going through the shops. Bought a few souvenirs, especially at the Everything for Less Than $10 Store. Had them shipped back to the hotel free of charge. We liked Once Upon A Toy also.

After shopping a bit, we decided to have lunch at the Rainforest Café. We had about ½ hour wait which wasn’t bad at 2 pm. I ordered a Margarilla (orange flavored margarita) which was very strong and very good. Hubby and I decided to split an order of buffalo wings and a rainforest burger, as we were going to go to Ghiaradelli’s afterwards for some ice cream. Our son ordered spaghetti. It was all very good and the waiter was superb—his name was Tim. So total for this bill was $45.90

Then we took a walk to Disney Quest. Not much to do in there for a 4 year old. I wouldn’t get passes for there again. We spent an hour or so and decided to head back to the hotel for some swimming. No Ghiaradelli’s this time I guess.

We had dinner at our foodcourt. Our son had a cheese pizza and Strawberry Quik, I had a turkey dinner (turkey, mashed and corn) and this was the day I purchased my souvenir mug. So $29.39 for our meals. Hubby just split the pizza with our son.

Hit up the arcade again and then turned in for the night.

Friday, April 22nd

Had breakfast at the food court again. I had a cinnamon roll and the boys had cereal (whatever). Then we headed to Animal Kingdom again. We wanted to go back and see a few things that we had missed on Monday.

We went to Tarzan Rocks and it was ok. I don’t know what we were expecting, but it wasn’t a concert. Everybody was really talented.

After the show we went to It’s a Bug’s Life. This is another 3D movie. We waited about ½ hour for this. It was just ok, I probably wouldn’t do it again. The sound was too muffled and the audience was too loud and you couldn’t even hear the movie.

After the movie we went to Kali River Rapids. When we got there it was closed for some reason and they said they weren’t sure how long it would be before it reopened. So we went over to the ice cream cart and the boys had ice cream. As soon as we were done and were gonna walk back, the ride had opened, so we were able to get right on without a wait. Good thing, because I would have been sorely disappointed if I had waited an hour for this ride. It was awful! I was expecting a lot of turning and splashing—we barely even got wet!

After the disappointing ride, we decided to go back to the hotel and rest and swim a bit. So that’s what we did.

Dinner was at the food court. I had chicken dinner which came with mashed potatoes and green beans. Our son had pizza (again) and hubby had a cheesesteak sandwich. Total was around $25

After dinner we headed to Epcot so that our son could play his Mickey Toontag again and then we headed to World Showcase to watch Illuminations. That show is EXCELLENT! Now those are fireworks! We waited a good hour and a half for this show and it was worth it.

Fought the crowds through the park and then came back to the hotel to turn in.

Saturday, April 23rd

We got up and had breakfast at the food court—the usual. Then we went to the pool until noon. Finally---some relaxation!

Went back to the room, showered and then headed to MGM. We did the Who Wants to be a Millionnaire show, it was really good—we enjoyed that. The questions weren’t that easy either.

Stopped at Rosie’s All-American Café. We all split a cheeseburger and chicken strips and fries. Total $8.73 (we had our own drinks)

Then we got a fast pass for Tower of Terror. In the meantime, we went to Playhouse Disney which was cute. Saw Stanley, Jo Jo and the Bear in the Big Blue House.

After Playhouse we went to Tower of Terror. Got right in with our fastpass. And all I can say is HOLY COW! I thought my son was screaming in terror, here he was loving it! When I got off that ride, I was shaking so terribly. And he was crying that he wanted to go on it again! So the boys went and got into line.

I then sat in a rainstorm for about 2 hours. I met a lady that lived close to me, so we chatted the entire time. What a nice person!

Then the guys came back and they said they loved it again.

Then we took off for Epcot. Our son did Toontag AGAIN and the rode Spaceship Earth—our son liked it, I thought it was just a nice foot rester. Then we headed to Mexico as we had priority seating for 7 pm. We had maybe a 10 minute wait, if that. The atmosphere is really dark in there. Had to read the menu by the light of the table lamp.

The menu choices weren’t that great for us. Hubby had the duck, I had the plato mexicano and our son had a cheeseburger. It was just ok for us, we probably wouldn’t go back, but were glad we did it just for something different. Duck was $19.95, Burger was $4.99 (came with tortillas), and mine was $20.75 Drinks were $2.00 and the chocolate milk was $1.95 Total was $55.00

We rode the Mexico boat ride while there. Kinda lame but gave us time to digest a little before heading back to the hotel.

Came back to the hotel and had ice cream. Hubby had a banana split, son had a scoop of ice cream and I had a waffle sundae. $13.45 Not very good either.

Sunday, April 24th

Today we had planned to do the lazy river ride at Typhoon Lagoon but since it had rained the day before, it was a little chilly today. We had breakfast at the food court—2 cereal, I had a waffle and orange juice $12.90

After breakfast we went to Magic Kingdom to redo Splash Mountain, Thunder Canyon and the Buzz Spin. We said our goodbyes to the park and then came back to the hotel for some swimming. We knew we had to start winding down as our vacation was coming to an end real soon.

Had lunch at the food court. Taco salad for me which was really good, chicken nuggets with fries for our son and spicy chicken sandwich for hubby. $18.38

Then we went swimming for a little bit, but it was so cold and windy that day that we didn’t last long. Got showered and then just played in the arcade for the evening. Had dinner at the foodcourt—turkey dinner, pizza.

Monday April, 25th

This was our day to leave the wonderful world of Disney. So we got up and had breakfast at the foodcourt. Then we took the Disney Vacation Club tour at Saratoga Springs. It was a nice tour, they didn’t pressure us, we had our scoop of ice cream and came back to the hotel. They had also given us a free lunch/dinner coupon so that took care of lunch.

We sat in the lobby awhile and then went and had our lunch at the foodcourt. I had chicken strips, so did our son and hubby had a chicken/cheese tortilla. We also got drinks and dessert with our free coupon so they had ice cream and I had a cookie.

We had gotten a late checkout—1:00 pm so we finished up all of our packing and then I had to head for the front desk because I had to get one day of the fridge rental taken off (remember they were late on day 1?) So I did that without any problem and then we just sat and sat and sat.

At 3:30 on the dot, our towncar service (Prestige-Ray) came to pick us up and off to the airport we went.

Got through security fine and flight was ontime for the way home. Nice flight, but took a little longer coming home 2 hours 5 minutes.

We decided during our stay at Disney and still now at home that this was our best trip ever. Just watching our son’s face during the rides and the excitement he saw was just so much fun. We can’t wait to do it again. Thank you all for reading and if you have any questions at all, please just ask.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experiences. You write very well!

Thank you Mark, I had fun writing it up. Before DS came along, I used to write Las Vegas Trip Reports about twice a year!!

Great report. Thanks for taking the time to post it. So glad to hear that your trip went well.

What a wonderful trip report!!! You have given us hope that we will make it through with our two 4 year olds!!! My husband and kids have never been to Disney World and the last time I went was around 8 years olds... I do have a couple of questions for you (if you do not mind)...

What kind of souvenirs did you get for him and were they worth it?

We requested to stay in the Fantasia building when we booked our vacation... is that when you asked to get into the Toy Story building?

Thank you!!! :chat:
