9/9/07 Wonder 4-day

What is "GTY?"

Sorry. It's a cabin "guarantee". When you book, they don't assign you a cabin, you are just guaranteed to get at least what you book. Since there aren't many cat 7's, I thought we might get upgraded.

Actually, I just checked again, and we were upgraded to a cat 5, not a cat 6!

GTY is guarantee to receive that Category or higher. They just won't commit to a stateroom number. It can work out really well in your favor if they room for upgrades:goodvibes

It really is starting feel real! Now if only the Carribean will stay calm for the next two weeks or so!:thumbsup2

One thing about the docs - why would they send us luggage tags if we are not using their transportation? They sent us the vouchers and the last page says that we did not pay for the transporation so why bother? :confused3

Straight from DCL reservations:

"NOW PLAYING"

Wild Hogs
Meet the Robinsons
Bridge to Terrabithia
Pirates of the Carribean - At World's End
Invincible
Ratatouille
and
Underdog

They will take your bags at the port, and in order for them to get to your room, they need to have the bag tags with your cabin number on them.

I've never done a GTY before this, only because I was concerned with the location I would end up with, even if it were an "upgrade". We went ahead and did the GTY for cat 7 because they're basically all located in the same area of the ship (aft) and if we did get an upgrade, I guess I just hoped for a good location. Fortunately, it really worked out for us this time - we got upgraded two categories and its a good location. Now if I could just find a stateroom report...:confused3

That is why I never did it either. Thought about it this time but chickened out. Maybe next time! Sure glad it worked out for you guys!

Is anyone else in panic mode yet? I am looking at what I need to get accomplished in the next week and thinking....HOW!

Way to go with the upgrades! Congratulations!

I am not in a panic, not at all! :scared1:

For some reason the below quote keeps floating through my mind. I thought I'd share. I guess it proves the only thing on my mind.

Have a good day everyone!

":boat:- As we sail please keep all hands in feet in the vehicle at all times. Please refrain from jumping ship until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. As always have a magical and wonderful time.:boat:"

Well, everyone, we leave tomorrow morning for our time at PO-R before the cruise! Safe travels to all and see you on board!!! :cool1:  :goodvibes

One week from right now, we'll be at the airport, waiting to board our place to Orlando! :woohoo: Woohoo!

I got out all the suitcases yesterday and started to pack things. We're up to 6 bags already! Talk about overpacking! I'm going to have to get another cabin just for the bags! :rotfl:

How's everyone else coming along with the packing and preparations?

Just a week to go! :dance3:

We will be at the airport too! :woohoo: :dance3: :yay:  :cheer2:

I have done nothing more than set out DH's painkillers, just in case, and put the passports with them! We have company coming this weekend so the spare bedroom will be in use, I had finals last weekend, started a new class last monday and DH was traveling on business this week. I am mentally packing though!:lmao: That way I can just grab and pack.

At least the house will be in good shape for DS and DDIL when they stay here while we are gone.

It sure doesn't seem possible that it is next weekend. Seems so long ago that I booked this! Sun, Surf and the Mouse! I can't wait!pirate:

We will also be at the airport!:cool1:

But I have not even begun to think of packing. I wish I could forgo the suitcase and just buy things as I need them, but that isn't very practical, is it?

There are so many things to do before we leave, does anyone else get that anxious feeling? :crazy2:

This will probably be my last post before we leave. I expect the rest of the week to be a little chaotic getting all the bases covered to leave DS behind.

Safe travel to all. See you on board!!! And yes, the panic is beginning to build!

Safe travels! We're leaving Sat. & going to go to Pleasure Island w/ my brother and sil and their friends. Can't wait!

Just trying to get caught up with work and school.

We had a marvelous time. The double dip at Castaway was great. How about you?

What a great trip! We had great tablemates. Tolerated our cabin though. Will definately choose a different location next time. It was noisy but we like the deck 2 for convenience.

That second day at CC made our trip! We took 300 pictures! That is more than we took when we went to Aruba. This was our 2nd DCL cruise; not sure what was new that we felt we needed so many picture of! I haven't had a chance to check them out yet.

We loved it so much that our trip to WDW next fall has now turned into another cruise! We did miss the meet though. I have to admit that we slept thru it. We only intended to just close our eyes for a few minutes...... we woke up with the life boat drill announcements. I guess we are getting old when the first thing you do in your stateroom is nap!!:lmao:

:thumbsup2 We had a WONDERful time but have hit the ground running! The Disney magic left us in Orlando because we didn't get home until Saturday morning at 12:30 am and we were supposed to land at Kansas City on Friday at
5:30. Weather delays in Atlanta. Then what I thought was allergies, was actually a nasty head cold I had fought for two weeks. That Disney magic kept it at bay until I was back home in KC. But, we had two days at Castaway Cay and great weather for the most part. So much fun that we are now talking about the 7-10 day cruise to the E. Carribean. Just have to convince DH sooner rather than later. :goodvibes

On side note, my boys (11 and 9) did not like the club AT ALL. We had to threatened them that if they didn't behave we would take them to the club. Although, when I would go in and get them or my DH and I would spy on them, they appeared to be having a great time but when we would want to "unload" them, they would say they don't like the club. So, next time, we will let them bring a friend or we will take a teenage girl to keep an eye on them so my DH and I can enjoy mmore adult time. :rolleyes1 My DD (6 1/2) on the other hand doesn't know a stranger and LOVED the club

Glad to hear everyone made it back home OK. We also had a great time. Now I know what everyone means by the "DCL difference". The return to CC was a great example. I didn't think the weather was that bad on CC the first day...we just ate lunch while it rained and after, we rode bikes since the rain had cooled it down a little. Of course, DCL can't control the weather, so I thought it was great that they took us back for round 2!

We loved our cabin location and the balcony. The service was great, except that our dinners always seemed a little chaotic and disorganized as far as the service went. I thought the food was great and we enjoyed the entertainment.

I'm sure we'll be back soon, maybe on the Magic next time!
