I'll be here until Sept 5th. We will be driving up to Cape Canaveral on the 6th. :cool1:
Assuming Ernesto leaves us alone, I should be packing everything next weekend.

Great Photos Steph! Is that the Elvis lover celebrating his birthday?

I'll be the last to leave. We don't fly down until the day of. Our flight leaves Birmingham at 10:30. So I'll be in and out until then.

Amlee- we don't fly put until the 7th as well :( Jacqueline's 1st day of school is the 6th ;)

Stepht- was the room decorated when you got there or did they decorate at turndown? Just curious- considering having the room decorated b/c it is Mike's b'day on the 14th ;)

We fly out on the 7th as well. And we booked an airline that only has one flight to Orlando that would get us in on time...dumb! We can't change to the night before either because we used points...so, we'll just have to "wish upon a star" and hope for the best.

I couldn't fly out due to a doctors appointment on the 6th. It was our only option. We could have gone Delta, but they didn't have any direct flights open. I refuse to go to atlanta unless I have no other choice.

Yep! :thumbsup2 His actually b-day was spent at Castaway Cay!!! Does it get any better? :goodvibes

Our TA (who is also a good friend of mine) ordered the b-day celebration decorations & a bottle of champange w/snacks for us! :teeth:

Don't blame you there, although it is better than when we used to fly through there when I was a child. You know, when they used bi-planes? :rotfl2:

It was decorated when we boarded -- that's the only way they do it. I posted those pics sionce you had asked about them on another thread. :)

We also leave on the 7th. 23dd couldn't get another day off of work and 15dd has classes on the 5th. Our flight leaves at 6:40 am..... so we'll be at the airport around 4am..... dh is thrilled. :lmao: :lmao:

Orlando to Miami still uses planes not much better than bi-planes. I was never so scared in MY LIFE!! I knew I was in trouble when the co-pilot asked me if I could handle helping the passengers (all 14 of us) out of the plane in case of an emergency. It was so loud we couldn't talk to each other and so nasty we couldn't see out the windows.

OH I forgot this! I found out over the weekend that my District Sales Manager for Disney will be on the ship with us. They are having some kind of DSM meeting on the ship. :rotfl2:

We should get them to do some kind of 1 hour seminar for the TAs on board....

Maybe we should schedule a nap instead of a sail away party!!! :rotfl2:
I figure we need to leave home by 3:30 Am to get to the airport by 4:15. I am quite sure I will be sleeping by our 8:30 PM dinner time...ok, it will only be 7:30 PM to my stomach but I think my tiredness will win over and I'll be snoozing that first night instead of celebrating. That's what getting old does to you!

Flying our here on the 7th as well, but we have an early flight that arrives at 10:30am so hopefully with some pixie dust we'll be just fine here in Ohio!!!

Thanks for the info on Flounders and water. I'll call Disney tomorrow to see what they have to say about it.

I started packing already and dh is giving me a hard time about the luggage (my thoughts on the lack thereof) as I will be meeting up with them afterwards (too bad it wasn't beforehand -- but it was prescheduled months ago and this is last minute) at WDW and I'll be driving back home with them. He claims he doesn't have room for my luggage on the way home.. Hmm, maybe I should just book another one way flight home and he can drive five kids under 10 both ways by himself? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thank you so much- I think I will go ahead and do it... though he won't get a basket from Shirley- just the girls ;)

Ok, we really wanted the C Cay beach couples massage... sold out as of the day we booked Then the only Palo ressies they had were for the 1st night (and this is a 10 night cruise!), Mike & I decided not to bother with it b/c it was 1st night... today we decide go ahead and book it just in case we can't get anything else and whammo- those are sold out now as well. :(

So, I am asking those experienced DCL cruisers, is Palo easy to reserve onboard? Like~ as soon as we get onboard? (granted our flight lands in Orlando at 2:25pm) What about the Castaway Cay massages?

LOL I don't know if I want that. Last time I was on the Wonder with a bunch of TA's and a seminar they had a bomb threat at the terminal.

:rotfl2: Tom McAlpin who is vp of marketing for DCL was sitting across from me at Palos when his black berry goes off. He looks at it and grunts. I'm like problems? He said yeah they found a bag in the lobby with a note saying there is a bomb inside. Our people have cleared the lobby and our dogs have cleared the bag. But we are waiting on the Port C. bomb squad to come into the building. I was ready to get up and jump ship. He was like oh don't worry. We are safe! :rolleyes1 About an hour and half his little black berry goes off again and gives him the all clear.

My DSM asked me where we were on the ship. I gave him my cabin number. He just rolls his eyes and says it figures! I'm like where are you? He says deck 2 :rotfl2:

I've found that they block off times for those who couldn't get times online. But those fill up real fast!! I've not had this done before and I don't know if they will do it or not, but when you call. Ask if you can have someone make ressies for you who will get there earlier than you.
