The weather here is geting hotter and hotter each day and today it is expected to be the hottest July day since 1911. At the time of writing this ,it's 11:30 in the morning (so in Florida you are still sleeping as it is 6.30) and it's scorching hot outside. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

What do you mean still sleeping? I'm up a 6 am each day in order to walk the dogs and get ready for work! :p
Our weather for today is typical for summer in Florida. Hot, humid with rain in the afternoon.

Queenofthecastle: A web site would be great! I have no idea how it is done but go for it. :woohoo:

I am going to try to put everything on a spread sheet to organize things for myself. :surfweb:

Have a great day, all!

Okay, you got me, I just woke up 1/2 hour ago. The baby is sleeping late today, so I figured I would too! ;) Our weather here in Sebastian FL has been WONDERFUL!!!! It has only been in the high 80's low 90's with little or no humidity!! I LOVE IT!!!  :cheer2: :sunny:

Queenofthecastle: If you are willing to set up a web site, that would be great!!

I took my 15DD to the drs. yesterday, because her little toe had been hurting her for 5 days now (from when her and her bro were playing soccer), and it turns out the toe is broke!! I am such a good mother! :teeth:

I just realized that yesterday my countdown clock said 1 month 25 days and today it says 1 month 23 days. I thought yesterday seemed awfully long!! :goodvibes

Go figure Dena. My countdown clock says one monthe and 20 days. I hope we are going on the same cruise. :rotfl: The only countdown clock that works is my birthday. I wish that clock was wrong!!!!!!!!

Okay I just had a good laugh, laughing at all the wrong countdown timers!!!! For some reason to me that is funny, I think I need to go get some sleep now!! Lack of sleep makes everything funny to me.

That is so sad about the cruise ship. How very scary for everyone. I hope those who were injured are okay. What a disaster.

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. - In an instant, passengers aboard The Crown Princess cruise ship went from sunbathing to clutching whatever they could as the massive ship rolled heavily to its side, throwing everything not nailed down against the deck and walls.

"Tables, glasses, lounge chairs went flying," passenger Tom Daus, 32 of New York told The Associated Press in a cell phone interview from the ship. "I was just holding on for dear life onto the bannister."

The Crown Princess was 11 1/2 miles southeast of Port Canaveral en route to New York late Tuesday afternoon when its crew reported problems with the steering equipment and the 113,000-ton ship listed hard to one side, Coast Guard Petty Officer James Judge said.

It slowly came back up, leaving a scene of terrified passengers scattered across its decks, halls and casino, then headed for the port.

John Hart, 49, of Ontario, Calif., said he had never been so scared on a cruise ship and might never board one again.

"I thought it was going over," he said.

All 3,100 passengers and 1,200 crew members were accounted for, the Coast Guard said. But at least 14 people suffered serious injuries, including a child and an adult with injuries considered critical. About 70 others had lesser injuries, said Cape Canaveral Fire Rescue Capt. Jim Watson.

Some passengers left the ship late Tuesday night after it reached Port Canaveral, and buses shuttled others to an airport Wednesday morning.

Stan Payne, CEO of the Canaveral Port Authority, said the ship would remain there for several days. The Coast Guard planned to inspect it Wednesday, and Princess Cruises — one of 12 brands operated by Miami-based Carnival Corp. — said it was investigating what caused the severe list. It wasn't immediately clear how far over the ship tipped.

"We deeply regret this incident and are doing everything we can to make our passengers as comfortable as possible under these difficult circumstances," company spokeswoman Julie Benson said. She said all passengers would receive a full refund and reimbursement for additional expenses.

Some passengers said the ship was already tilting Tuesday morning, even before the sudden roll to the side.

Martha Lynn George said she at first thought something was wrong with her bed when she awoke but then realized the whole ship was slightly tilted. She and her husband were in the buffet area Tuesday afternoon when the ship suddenly rolled. If her husband hadn't grabbed her, she said, she would have gone flying through a glass window.

"We were seeing the sky — the ship tilted that much," George told ABC's "Good Morning America" Wednesday. "I really thought this was it."

On deck, "The water came gushing out of the pool like a mini tsunami," Daus said. "People who were in the pool were shoved out."

John Joyce, on his honeymoon with his wife, Rebecca, said he had gone downstairs to see about booking another cruise when the ship began to tilt.

"I watched the grand piano come tumbling by me," he told NBC's "Today" show. "I just assumed my wife was already in the ocean."

Tables were piled on top of one man in the ship's casino and his head was bleeding, said Steve Tibus, 54, of Edgewater, N.J. He said his own wife had to be treated for injuries to her head and legs after furniture hit her.

"You just got scared, and you knew something was wrong, and you just hung on," he said.

The Crown Princess was on a nine-day Western Caribbean cruise and had just left Port Canaveral on Tuesday afternoon. It had been scheduled to return to New York on Thursday.

Thanks for the info on the cruise ship.I think I would give-up crusing if something happened like that. I wonder(no pun intended) if the Crown Princess has stabilizers like Disney???

Dh brought up the cruise ship accident this morning in front of the children... :furious: I could have thunked him! Luckily 8ds wasn't listening at first so, he didn't hear much. Otherwise I can guarantee he would NOT be getting on the ship come Sept!

What if we were able to arrange something to bring gifts for the local school children at a/each port? I remember reading a post where some local school children gathered at the pier to watch the "Mickey ship" come in, and I think DCL even arranged for some characters to come off the ship for a meet 'n greet. We'd probably have to figure out who to contact at DCL(cruise director, maybe?) to see if this would be possible. If anyone else thinks it's a good idea and something our group could pull off, I'd be happy to volunteer to try to and contact DCL.

On a previous Southern Carribean cruise someone brought Disney stickers to give out. We bought a few rolls of stickers for the cruise. Be happy to contribute to a more organized effort. Alex

My guess is yes. Since the ship is only about a month old, they might even be more current stabalizers than those on the Wonder and Magic.

--On another note, I'm starting to thing about transportation from Orlando International to Port Canaveral. I checked a few limo services and it's much cheaper than the Disney buses and you won't be arriving with a group to show down check-in. Is anyone interested in splitting a limo? We arrive around 11:00 on the 7th, but of course we could wait a few minutes for anyone arriving before noon. We are returning to the airport directly after disembarkation. Send me a PM, if you are interested.

THose poor passengers. I don't think that I could ever step foot on another cruise ship after that experience. Prayers and Pixie dust for all involved!

I remember when we sailed with NCL last April and it was the 2nd to last night of our cruise, it was around 10:30pm and my DH and I were in our cabin watching TV when all of a sudden it got pitch black in the room. We went into the hallway and the emergency lights came on. I remember saying that I did not hear the engines running anymore. After a few minutes the captain came on and said their was an overload, but that they were working to get the engines up and running. It lasted all of about 15 minutes and then we had full power again, but I have to admit I was a little scared for the first 5 minutes :scared1:

Friends that we had met onboard were stuck in the elevator during that time. I think that would have freaked me out!!

Decks 9 and 10 come alive for a Beach Party on the Ocean; On the Nose Game Show - An original game show where the winners are the one’s closest to the right answer; Disney – The Art of the Story - See how Disney magic and storytelling come together using music, dance, sound and more; Cooking Demonstrations, Wine Seminars - Join the manager of Napa Rose Restaurant at Disneyland® Resort for culinary events

So now we know we are having a beach party. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! As we approach the date, Monica and I will check in more often. We are excited about all of the new entertainment options for this cruise.

My mom has expressed an interest in going on this cruise. Although we have a Cat. 2 room, we are cruising with another couple for their honeymoon and they are not excited about "mom" coming along.

Is there anyone here who might be looking to save some money by sharing a room? Maybe someone here knows a friend who wanted to travel as a single but could not afford the cruise on their own. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!
