I didn't want to step on any toes regarding the portholes door magnets. I already had this one designed when the porthole image was posted. We can do these in addition to the mickey head design, if you want. Looks like the cost of the portholes on magnetic paper will be a couple of bucks each. The mickey head design is free, if you bring your own protector. I will provide the personally designed image and the magnetic strips (top and bottom).

Is someone coordinating the porthole design magnets or would you like me to handle that one too?

Hi folks! I'm the one who designed the porthole image. Just wanted to let you know my computer is being shipped off to be repaired (and with it my design program).

I will be THRILLED to personalize the images for you, but it will be early July when I get my CPU back. If you've sent a request (I have 2 already! LOVE IT!), please don't think you are being ignored! As soon as I get my CPU back I will start on the porthole requests. So, PM away!

And Bon Voyage!

Robin

ETA - I found a site that sells the inkjet magnet paper for $1.29 per sheet. (cheaper as you get more)
Just thinking if one person made them and everyone gave a couple of dollars (for ink and paper) to that person then you could get your magnet when you get on board.

If you decide to do that, you can forward the jpg image I make for you to whoever is in charge of that and they can go from there.
http://www.custom-magnets.com/ink-jet-magnet-sheets.htm

By the time you print your image, put it in a sleeve (which, if you don't have on hand already, you have to buy a box of) trim it and add stickey backed magnet strips...well, it shouldn't cost more to do this if one person does all the printing. Maybe give them some extra $ if you have a design you want cut out as opposed to the full rectangle.

Hope that makes sense!

"I like the idea of getting the image emailed and each of us being responsible for making the magnets. That will save one person from having to spend so much money.

Renee"

I like this idea, too. Doesn't it mean we would just have the image e-mailed to us, then we could add our own names and occasions, then print them at home on paper or magnets, and bring them with us. :confused3

That way, they would all match and it wouldn't cost one person a lot of $$. Or they wouldn't have to worry about getting them to everyone.

Cyndi,

Jane ask me to send her's for printing. We might run into some problems with the fonts. Let's see how this test works.

Crystal - I love the magnet you designed. You did an awesome job, I really appreciate the effort. I can't wait to see what it looks like in person, it got me really excited for the cruise now!!!! Thanks again.

As for the porthole design I agree that we should email the design to everyone and they can be responsible for it themselves to save someone $$$$. Crystal, you did a great job and you are taking on the mickeyhead one, so no need to take on the porthole one too.

I totally agree!
I LOVE the design you've come up with!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

We were deciding between the 10night and the 11night, finally took the plunge on the 10night (the 11night would just barely work, but if the cruise went over a couple days due to a hurricane or what-not, then my wife would miss work). Looks like I have some reading to do, glad I finally found this thread!

WELCOME!!!
If you would like to be added to the roster please PM me with your info -- I think that info is on the first page of this thread. :goodvibes

I agree with whatever happens. I am happy with what the group decides. Heidi can be my proxy!

I have a lot on my plate right now. My mom passed away 3 days after eye surgery back in October of 2005 and come to find out she got a contaminated dose of an antibiotic during surgery. My family has pretty much left it to me to do all the research and leg work. So, I may not be as active here like I was.

Hi again - just wanted to make a quick comment on the porthole design -

I don't charge anything for the design. I love to share the magic!

All I need from you is the information you want on it and an e-mail address to send it to once I get my computer back and am able to design again. (early July)

I am able to edit any of the green text (I think my sample has "Smith Family Vacation 2006" on it), but the image itself is not changeable at this point.

If you want name badges from the matching background, let me know what color text you would like (blue or red). I can mix and match, so, for example, if you wanted all the guys in blue and girls in red, I can do that.

Sounds like y'all are going to have a blast!!

Have I ever mentioned that my family is from the St Loius area? :rotfl: Off of I-70 about 45 min W of the airport. :) Wellsville & Martinsburg! You know BIG cities! :lmao:

My dad's family came to MO from Germany in the 1890's. I'm 3rd generation American. :teeth: MO is the only place my maiden name isn't unusual! Wieberg -- everyone with that name is related.

Sandy, I am really sorry to hear that!
It makes me nervous since DH had Lasik a couple of years ago and we found out yesterday that he is going to have to have Cataract surgery within the next 10yrs......
I will add your family to our family prayer list -- if that is ok with you.

Thank you for adding us to the prayer list. Why does DH need cataract surgery? Is it because of the lasik surgery? I want lasik soooo bad. My SIL had it a few years ago and now her eyes are starting to change and needs glasses again.

Nope. Totally unrelated that he is now getting Cataracts. His father had Cataracts but, not until he was in his 70's! LOL! Dh is only 45!

22dd thinks that I ought to have surgery so that I won't need glasses... I keep telling her that I don't mind wearing glasses and it has always bothered her dad. He wore contacts for many years.

That's really cool! But you got me on those towns...I haven't heard of them. I just found out Mary (mbruck) and her friend Linda, who will be on the cruise, are also originally from the STL. It's a St. Louis reunion:thumbsup2 .

Sandy and Heidi,

Your family is in our prayers. My Mom had successful eye surgery last year and is waiting for a call from her doctor any day now to schedule the other eye. I never thought about something like that happening. I'll ask more questions this time.

Sandy, I hope your research goes well.

The eye surgery was not a typical eye surgery. It was from complications of her diabetes. She was going blind.

Stephanie, my dad and several other people had the cataract surgery and all came out of it with perfect vision. I was just joking the other day that I wanted cataract surgery just so I didn't need glasses. I hate my glasses. I hated my contacts because of dry eyes. I just want to see without correctivie lens. Well, that will never happen. lol

Martinsburg is in Audrain county -- Mexico -- and Wellsville is in Montgomery Co. Both are on Hwy 19 near I-70. :)

Too funny since Mary (mbruck) now lives in the same city as I do! LOL!

You sound JUST like dh! He has extremely dry eyes and he HATES corrective lens! His dad also now has perfect vision!
His eyes are so dry that he has silicone plugs in them.

I found a cheap motel in the area for the night before that lets you park for the duration of the cruise. I went on hotwire.com, punched in port canaveral, and as for dates selected Sept. 6 - Sept. 7. The first result that comes up is "3-star hotel in Cocoa Beach - Cape Canaveral." I booked it about a week ago, exact same description, price was $74 (now it's down to $59, I've noticed that it keeps dropping down, but would rather buy now than risk it selling out).

Do note, that neither they or I will guarantee the hotel you get. They could feasibly use the exact same description for a completely different hotel. I'm pretty sure you'll get the same one I did. The one I got was Holiday Inn Cocoa Beach - Oceanfront, FL. I hear it's pretty decent, some mixed reviews, but all we need is some free parking and a place to stay the night before (plus they have free breakfast). Total for us after tax was $89.03, assuming the motel they describe is the same one I got, you can get it for a bit less.

If there's any question about them letting you park without a special cruise package, I emailed someone there and got a response back saying it was fine. I'll be sure to take a copy of the email with me just in case.

I know quite a few are planning to do the Pineapple Beach Resort. I think Ginny, Sandy, Renee, Stacy, Lisa, and maybe Heidi if she convinced DBF;) . I contacted the resort and found out they have a spa:woohoo: . I have a massage booked for 1:00. If you're interested, just email the request to the same person who confirmed your day pass. Also, we should talk about sharing taxis or even trying to get a shuttle van, since there are so many of us going to the same place. Renee, do you remember about how long it takes to get there?

Spa prices are pretty good. I cancelled my Vista appointment, although I'm still doing to do the Rainforest Cruise Pass for me and DS.

Here are the spa prices for Pineapple Beach:
