9/7/06 10 night Wonder Southern Caribbean "Cruising in WONDERland!"

Seems like there are alot of Disney trivia buffs cruising with us...I am scared I haveforgotten everything I knew! But I think trivia events should be alot of fun considering how all of us DISboarders love Disney so much.

What are your favorite characters...we have a spreadsheet going for that, too. I need Mac's and Eric's and yourswhen you get a chance.

I will be finishing it up tonight instead of last night, sorry. DH reminded me we are having a birthday party for DD 31, DS 29, and DGD 13 TODAY ...so, I need to go get ready now. Be back tonight!

OH I LOVE trivia!! I won the game on my carnival cruise last year. Granted it wasn't Disney, but it was entertainment trivia. Can you believe I was the only one to know who Adrien Brody was!? Don't people watch the Oscars anymore?

This is our Fish extenders. They aren't completely finished, but you can get the idea of them. It's a simple canvas tote, with pieces of material glued to the front of it, making smaller pockets. Mine is the mickey one with a mickey icon glued to it. Sally's is the pink with the princess on it. I've still got to add our names to them and do a little bit more detail, but you can get the idea of it.

My fish extender looks nothing like all the ones I've seen posted. I wish I could put a picture of the fish extender with a posting, but I am picture-on-posting challenged. I've tried several times, but I have failed. I only hope when people see it hanging on the fish that they will know it is a fish extender. Alex

First you have to make sure that your picture is a jpg file. Then you have to uploaded your pictures to a hosting site. I like uploadit.org, you can get a free account and is easy to use. Let me know if you need some help. It's fairly easy once you figure it all out.

I'm taking some string to tie over the fish and then hooking it to her back handle. We folded the outer handle inside so it wouldn' be in the way and added velcro to the inside so the bags wouldn't be hanging open. All with GLUE!!

Amy, your fish extender turned out adorable. I like the idea of the totes. You can just have all your goodies to bring right home unless there is lots of undies?? You sure are a good sport with all the jokes

I'm impressed that you are all packed! I have packed one of the larger suitcases and have stacks of clothes ready for the others....

I shipped 2 large Disney duffle bags in my *box 'o stuff* that we sent ahead. And I told dh that I might have to buy a DCL suitcase the first couple of days on the ship....

I still have stacks and stacks of clothes out on a the bed. I have a large miscellaneous bag packed with my water mister, drugs, and just stuff that is just in case we need it bag. Make sure you do not buy all the suitcases on the boat. We are only checking three so just in case I might have to buy one for my shopping habit.

Yuo are way ahead of us, all I have packed are name tags, lanyards and wine. We have clothes hanging in the closet, on the bed, in boxes, and more to put out. I think we should only have 6-8 suitcases!! Oh wait, forgot about DW's shoes.

Thanks for reminding me Alex. I need at least 4 pairs of shoes but DH said I only need two counting the ones I am wearing. You know who is going to win this one.

Carolyn puts purse in the safe for the cruise. We put key to the world card and ID in our badge holder when we get off the ship along with charge card and some $$ in my pocket. Works great for us. Alex

This is what we do too. Our room has a big black hole that stuff diappeared in last cruise. The fewer things we have to keep track of the better.

Well, its a productive day here on the East Coast! I got all of my docs filled out online and printed the necessary paperwork to bring along to the terminal, signed up for a couple of shore excursions and even turned down a Palo ressie for Thurs night (our first night aboard) since we thought it would be too much for DJ to experience the Wonder, and then boom, have a babysitter. Here's hoping another one will show up in the next few days!!!

I've done about six loads of laundry (five kids, dh, me) and am finishing up counting all of the uniforms to make sure everyone else is set for school the next two weeks. The kids are packed for WDW, and I'm about half way there myself. I've got this big box downstairs, though, filled with fishy gift stuff, that Janelle says I'll need a suitcase in itself for. DH isn't too happy about it. I guess I'll need to work on him a bit more.

Well, back to folding and packing. BTW, I need a bit of help with my sock matching. I just hate that job!!!! Can anyone come over to mate my socks?

I had a productive day too. DD and I got our hair done and I got nails and toes. DH and DS got their haircuts. DD goes tomorrow for nails and toes. I am packed for the kids and DH. I have all the shoes packed in a separate suitcase so its just me and the toiletries etc.. that I still need to get packed.

It looks like we are gonna have 8 pieces of luggage including the cooler and laptop bag. that sure seems like alot - I dont remeber having that much for the 14 day last year.

Dh and I are gonna take all the patio furniture off the lanai tomorrow and put in the garage incase any tropical storms or worse visit the tampa bay area while we are cruising.

Did you make him a tshirt to wear that day?? Thats what we are doing for DS, who turns 5 on 9/8. I made (or am making..design is done thanks to julia&nicksmom, just need to do the ironing) a Nemo one it's really cute.

We thought that was a great idea. So, yes, we decided to make him a shirt too. Thanks for the idea!

My wife wanted me to have a sign on my birthday too, but doesn't really know how to do something like that. So, I made one for myself on her behalf. Nothing more tacky than making such a sign for myself, but if the shoe fits...

Hello all! Sounds like everyone is ready to go, with all that luggage!

I had an interesting experience on my 3-night cruise last weekend. I was missing one of my "bras" which I thought was kinda funny. Pulled everything apart in the room looking for it. Then I remembered it was a Victoria's Secret one. Some of the threads talked about those type bras being stolen out of suitcases by the pier/baggage handlers. EEEEEK!

My husband decided to start looking, since he thought I was nuts. Well, turns out some of our "stuff", plus other people's stuff had fallen behind the drawers and came to rest on the floor - undetectible by anyone unless they pulled the drawers out!

Amy, I'm sure we won't see the launch if it goes off as scheduled on Wednesday! Thank goodness.

HiYaPal...seeing you in costumes, makes me miss my days at the Disney Store... Of course, I loved the other costumes better. I loved the varsity sweaters w/the "M" on them....
Are you still working there?? I go into the 2 that I use to work at and there is 1 person still there at the first one, and maybe 2 still there from the 2nd one (I transferred when I transferred colleges).

I miss it too! I went back the other day for a visit and it just isn't the same. There was only one cast member on stage and he was on a personal call with his back to the stage. I walked around for 10 -12 minutes without even seeing him... Forget about getting greeted! I called him by name and he didn't recognize me, and I said I was going on the cruise this week and I was looking for a Jack Sparrow wig. He went "Oh, I just had this one returned." What happened to the magic??? No excitement about the cruise or anything. Hopefully, the magic will be on the ship with us! We really should have a TDS reunion...it seems there are alot of ex-TDS cast members.

eew...I don't want rain over Orlando either...I don't want all of the clothes and fish extender gifts in my luggage getting soaked sitting on a tarmac! Yuck!

Wow, so chatty last night. LOL.

Steph...I would bring at least one Princess dress for her...I would imagine when she sees the other little girls dressed up...she will wish she had one! Steph the spinner just rolls around...I love it! I want more!

I didn't mean a purse to carry around on the ship...I have a tiny purse for that...to hold room key etc....and for my books and other misc. items I have a tote bag. I meant at the airport. I may be able to put all my paperwork in the laptop bag...maybe.

Both suitcases have been weighed and are hovering at the 48 pound mark... I have a duffle packed...that is empty for anything I might purchase...crap...I am sooooo tempted to pack an empty suitcase...or lighten up the others and bring 3...Everything is in those 2 1/2 gallon ziplocks...so it would be easy to do...now I am OCD'ing as my dh would say? I mean...I do have 4 luggage tags...I hate the 50 pound weight limit...I haven't even packed the extra stuff like makeup, and all the "just in case" medicines...UGHHHHH!

Back to the drawing board....
