Just called to check the status of our so-called 50% off the fare refund. Seems that they can't calculate yet again. If you were expecting 50% off your fare that is listed on your reservation sheet, think again. I'm sure this is also the case for the other cruisers around that time.
If anyone calls DCL, let me know.

My refund is supposed to be 1/2 of what I paid. I checked the amount again today At first the amount was not 1/2 but my TA spoke with them and the amount has been adjusted and it is now 1/2 of what I paid. I did verify today with DCL. I asked what the delay is and again was told they are processing refunds. They also have not refunded me for gifts that I had ordered to be in stateroom.

We were scheduled on the 9/4 cruise for the week but were unsuccessful in getting there...between all of the changes and lack of communication (that's another story).

We were told now we will get 100% back, but if we took the 4 nt we would get 50% off CRUISE FARE. I would further investigate b/c the port charges/govt tax was for going to THREE ports not ONE.

how do i find out how much we are getting back? has anyone gotten their voucher yet?

wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Could you please ask your TA exactly what she said to them to get the full 50%. I'm not expecting the insurance, but 50% off the rest. They are giving us the runaround and I need to talk to someone other than the CM's (and their managers) who answer the phone. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Karen

I am thinking we should at least get what was listed in our document booklet as teh cruise fare, before the government fees and such. In our case that would be $999. And, I think we should get some of the port fees back too as there was only one stop on this cruise.

I haven't checked yet, but will be checking.

You would think. I sent DCL an email and asked them to call immediately, hahaha - they never called before so I'm sure they won't call now - okay, I'm being ugly, but after all we went through, I can't help it. Check it out and see what they are planning on refunding you.

From what I was told...it was the cruise fare only....no taxes, transfers, or insurance was included. I called and was told what I was getting back. We paid with different card and they even told me what amount was going back on each. I have gotten our credits back except one for a little over 800.00.

I don't know what is happening with some of there operators....But I have gotten a few rotten ones also...Make sure you write down their name and then call back and talk to a supervisor! That is what I did! DON'T PUT UP WITH IT! We are paying their pay checks! ::yes::

p.s. Has anyone gotten there 25% off voucher? They keep telling me...next week....next week...ohh you should be getting that any day now!

Boy, they just don't quit, do they? It's amazing to me what a poor job they continue to do with this. Karen, email me and let me know if they get it right for you. Unreal.

alicecr - I sent you a PM yesterday.

mostyn17 - Hey Travis. They do owe you back on the taxes. Not the insurance.

Uferlives - were you on this cruise? Just checking to see and if so, what about your refund.

I talked with another family who was scheduled for the 4 night cruise and 3 days in Disney. They got the 4 night cruise and only 1 day at Disney due to the parks closing. So, they got their cruise and 1 day but also got 30% their whole total for both.

My DH is so mad right now, he's thinking class action. HUM?

Selvey....who do I talk to then? I asked about that before and no one could help me. I thought that was strange about the taxes too!

PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!! :earseek:

Travis

travis - I have absolutely no idea. I was hoping that alicecr could find out from her TA who they talked to. Did you get that printed Disney note card? It says: 50% refund of your original seven-night voyage fare.
Do you have the ticket books? They read different from the reservation sheet. Of course this is how they intend to screw us but I'm not letting it go. Everytime we talked to a CM over the course of the 5 days prior to the cruise, every CM stated that it would be a 50% refund off the "fare." Legally, they can't keep taxes for something not paid for. And, we did go to 2 of the ports. So, they owe us that too.
Keep me posted if you find out something.
Thanks,
Karen

It is the 50% off of the voyage fare only. Keep in mind that the total you pay includes government fees, taxes, and port charges in addition to the voyage fare.

If you want a refund of the port charges also for not docking you would need to check into that further, but the 50% off of the fare is a separate issue.

Good luck to you all. I know it must be frustrating.

Forgot to add--the 25% off voucher will also only be on the voyage fare, not including the taxes, port charges, insurance, transfers, etc.

Sure we have to pay 50% of the other stuff but we should be getting 50% back of that same stuff as we did not receive or pay for it. This is all just a big mess. We'll see what happens.

My travel agent was DU. I don't know who they spoke to at DCL but once again they came through for me. Of course, the money has not been credited back to me yet but the amount they admit they are refunding is exactly 50% of what I paid. I don't understand why they are so slow in refunding.

So it seems they are refunding the "real" 50% off for some and not all. We just need to know who to talk to. Did you say they are even refunding the insurance amount. You mean the "real" total you paid they are doing the 50%?

When I talked to them today, I was told it was off the cruise fare only. I did figure it out and they did also give me back the taxes from the ports.

So let me get this straight.....some of you are getting 50% of the total fare!

I don't think that is fair they are giving it to some and not all.

I would like to know more on this.
::yes::

Thanks for the updates...

Travis

Greetings to my fellow Sept 4th Short-time Cruisers -- I was quoted by my TA a refund which was less than exactly 50%
of what I paid but more than 50% of just the cruise fare so
it appears that I will be receiving some of the port and tax
charges back.

While on our cruise, we discovered that we could not combine
the 10% discount for booking the next cruise on board with our 25% voucher --- another disappointment for all unless someone
has a different story.

We had a great four-day cruise with upgraded cabins (8 to 6).
