9/4/11 Dream Cruise FE List

We were planning on utilizing Park N Cruise- we didn't book a cruise package.

In other news: Is anyone starting to worry about how Irene is going to affect our trip? Bahamian officials have encouraged tourists to stay away for the next 5 days. Of course my first concern is for the people of the Bahamas, and the cast members on CC, but I do hope that things aren't too messed up for our trip.

I'm also hoping that since Irene is making landfall this week, we will hopefully be in the clear weather-wise.

I'm surely glad we didn't book a cruise for this week, let's hope the following weekend/week will be nice. As it stands now, I don't even have an excursion booked for Nassau. I just want to have cooler weather... It's a scorcher here in Texas !!!!!

Wow- this looks like a fun group! How many people on this thread will be on the Sept 4 cruise?

We have two daughters ages 5 & 6. Soooooo excited.:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

There has been some discussion about dropping in at Pink on the first evening. Nothing official, just kind of running into each other.

DD18 tried on her swimsuits on Monday, and just kept going. She is packed, but none of the rest of us are. Our cruise documents arrived, and I was not on them. An e-mail to the travel agent has me now with my own set of docs. We are still short a set of luggage tags, but that is MUCH easier to deal with.

Still working on FE gifts, and will START putting the bags together in the next day or so. We are flying down on Sunday, but sending a bag ahead with my brother, since our airline charges for checked luggage. We figure, since there are laundry facilities, we can work with carry-ons and "purses."

I, too, was wondering about what effect Irene will have on everyone there, and on the trip. It does sound like she will not make landfall on Nassau nor Castaway though. It is reassuring to me that they can sail around bad weather, although it might be a real disappointment if we end up spending the entire time on the ship.

Anyone know anything about Bingo ??

10.....

I like the idea of having a mini-meet at Pink, but do we want to plan something that the older teens and even the kids can enjoy?

The cruise before us is having their meet right before the lifeboat drill. This is what I C&P'd from their meet thread

"Our meet up is scheduled for 3pm (before Sail Away and life boat drill) on Deck 13 ~ Currents, it's outside so those with young kids can have some space."

Would we like to do the same?

Sounds good to me. :goodvibes

I am starting to try and gather things for packing. I can't find the pirate costumes that we bought on clearance after Halloween last year. I know I put them somewhere. I am afraid I am going to have to go digging in the basement. Yuck.

Is everyone bringing stuff for the kids to wear for pirate night?

In our case, for the "big kids".

I found a polo shirt with tiny (like penny sized) skull and crossbones screenprinted on it at Old Navy for $5 on clearance. FI (soon DH!) will be wearing that.

This brings me to my question, I have all my supplies and a plan but how wide can my FE be??
I have searched a little and can't find dimensions anywhere for how far off the ground the fish is or how wide the wall is. Anyone know?? :confused3

thanks! 8 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys! I'm (:sad1:) unfortunately NOT going to be on this Dream sailing but my BFF and her family is. Is it too late to sign them up to participate in the FE exchange? They have 4 in their party, 2 adults and DD(4) and DD(2).

Thanks!!

Unfortunately, yes it's too late. Our cut off was a month ago

It turned out really cute!

Hi everyone,

Starting to get worried here. We live on LI and are about 1 mile north of the cutoff of mandatory evacuation areas. We have prepared best we can and are now sitting and waiting for Irene.....Jetblue has already cancelled so many flights and it looks like the first scheduled flights out aren't until Wednesday afternoon. We are booked for Wednesday evening to fly to my parents house before the cruise for a few days...but the thought of us not being able to get off of Long Island really worries us. Of course our safety is our #1 priorty, but we have been planning this trip for sooooooo Long!!!

I hope your travel plans don't have to change. My brother is having to ride out the storm in Port Reading, NJ (work-related, he has no choice), so I am watching the news closely. Stay safe and keep us posted.

We survived the storm! Never even lost power! Going to start packing tonight. Only worry will be flying out. Heard on tv that planes will not start departing till tomorrow afternoon and that it may take a week to resume normal service!

I figured as much but thought I'd give it a shot :thumbsup2. They are in room #7548 if anyone brings any extra pixie dust for her 2 girls princess: (ages 4 and 2). This is their first DCL experience so I'm sure they'll be hooked and more prepared for the next one! (because there is always a next one, right?!?:rotfl:)

We are in cabin #7191, so same deck but almost the opposite end of the ship. I *think* I have enough to put together 2 more gift bags for the kids. They may be more Mickey than Princess because I bought some generic stuff in the beginning and then some boy/girl specific things. I'll have to check, but I know I had leftovers. They have a Fish Extender?

We may have a couple little somethings also. I'll write down the number.

I am looking for a place to print Disney license plates for our door. I found them last year, but cant know...any ideas??

Hi Gang -

I'm just curious as to where people are coming from. Always fun to find out.

We are coming from Nebraska (GO BIG RED ! ! )

OMG......I am sooooooo excited. just 4 days, so I am letting myself start to pack.:laundy:

We're in the foothills of Northeast Georgia. It's about a 9 hour drive for us.

Speaking of the drive, if anyone else is driving PLEASE TAKE NOTE. This is race weekend in Hampton, Georgia (south of Atlanta). NASCAR fans arrive all weekend long for the races. Truck race is Friday night, Nationwide race is Saturday night, and Sprint race is Sunday night. You do not want to hit I-75 south of Atlanta anywhere between 3pm and 8pm either Friday or Saturday. If at all possible, make sure you are through that area before 3pm at the latest (the earlier the better). People flood into that area Friday afternoon to camp for the weekend, and then day race goers show up Saturday. The backup can get ridiculous.
