9/28/13. Disney Wonder 7 night Bahamian out of Galveston.

I am looking forward to getting crafty and making FE gifts. My child is always the one that has a little something extra to pass out at school or dance class. That will give us something fun to do this summer. Right now I'm trying to think of something for classmates for the last day of school. "Orange You Glad It's Summer" comes to mind. You fill an orange treat bag full of orange stuff. Sorry got of topic....

My question: did we decide on how we would do FE? Do we do something for each person? Each child? Each family? Each cabin? I'm a little confused. This is our first cruise.

A lot of exchanges leave that decision up to the gift giver, so that's what I've included in our FAQ. The thought behind this is to allow everyone to participate at whatever cost level they can afford or deem appropriate. If you look back a few posts, I posted what I plan to do.

I'm no FE dictator, so if anyone has thoughts otherwise, PLEASE let us know. You can PM me if you don't want to share with the group. The same goes for our sign up deadline. I've set it at August 31 unless there is a need otherwise.

PS, the orange idea is super cute! If you have a Target, the dollar section has zip top bags with orange polka dots, 20 per package, somewhere between sandwich and quart size if I remember right.

I've already started making my gifts and I'm planning one cabin gift and some gifts for each person.

Texaschic, that's a really cute theme! I'm working on teacher appreciation gifts, and leaving the end of year plans up to the room mom! Can't believe we're doing summer prep already! Our sail date will be here before you know it!

Aggiegirl thanks that clears FE info. I will check Target :) great idea

TexMicks yes it will and just when the rest of the world starts to get bummed about summer being over....we will be looking forward to VACATION !!

There is a "Family Talent Show" onboard! How fun! Anyone know anything about it? Any thoughts or ideas?

Actually that was my first thought too. Then I got to thinking about all these costumes DD has for recital, and I all the time and effort spent on cheer/tumble and dance......hmmm... Might be kinda fun.

I was looking at a navigator and noticed it. Then I did a little investigating. Apparently the talent show is only on 7 day cruises.

I was checking prices tonight, and it won't let me book a reservation for a child under 3. That means the nursery is at capacity...looks like we have a lot of babies and toddlers on this cruise.

I'm getting antsy and had to post something. I've been working on FE gifts but I'm at a stopping point. One of my supply items is literally on a slow boat from China. ;)

I noticed the little ones even in our FE list! Had all these plans for little bit older kids then saw all the cute little ones signed up. Just more fun research though!!

Just booked our very first cruise - so glad to join everyone!

I am hoping there will be some teenagers on this group at some point!

I have requested to join the facebook group also - will be nice to put faces to names :)

:welcome: NickiP!!! You are going to LOVE your first Disney Cruise! It really is addicting! And we have a 13dd! Well, she'll be 14 by the time of the cruise! Yay for another teen!:goodvibes

Just booked a cabin on this cruise! So excited, this will be our second Disney cruise, and our first trip to the Bahamas!

My husband Rich loves the trivia (especially music & tv!), our soon to be 2 year old daughter Emily could spend the entire day at Splash Zone, and I'm looking forward to some grown up fun at Mixology!

We'll also be traveling with my husband's sister Laura, who's favorite thing is pin trading.

Looking forward to meeting all of you! I'm off to sign up for the FE and the Facebook page! :)

Count me in! I just sent a request for the Facebook group.

I booked the cruise in March when they came out with the WON special. All adults in my group. I'll be in a cabin on my own because DH can't get away from work, and joined by my Dad & Stepmom and Brother and Sis-in-Law. We got the reduced priced 7A's while there were still specific cabins to be selected, but I think it went to 7A GTY pretty quickly. I've also noticed that the main dining filled up, so the special discount must be helping to fill the ship.

I sure wish Disney would stay in Galveston as I know I'd be cruising with them frequently!

Welcome! I have (currently) 18 month old twin girls, and I'm sure they are going to love to splash around too. Poor things got left at home with their Nanny (grandma) for our last cruise...this time we're taking them and their two grandmothers with us!

Welcome! That WON rate sure is wonderful. I wish we could have done the 7As, but we need a 4 person cabin. We had to settle for connecting 9Ds.

That's good to know! I had no idea that there was a minimum post requirement before being allowed to PM!

I'm a little worried about this too. But I have heard that the lower you are on the ship, the less movement you'll feel. We're on the 2nd deck, so hopefully that will help. And I'll probably bring some dramamine as well.

I think a facebook page would be a great idea!

On my 1st cruise, I was worried too about getting sick. However, I took a travel sickness medicine called Meclozine. You can buy OTC & pharmacist keeps larger qty behind counter, just ask, no script required. It calms the nerves that cause motion sickness. Never sleepy, dizzy, or anything like that. I've used for years when needed & it works great, lets you enjoy your vacation without the down falls. Just my opinion & wanted to suggest. Thx!

Thank you so much for the welcome! I'm sure our little Emily is going to have a blast with your twins! Are you signing up for nursery time? We did a couple of visits to the nursery on our last cruise in December, but then Emily started getting too upset when we'd drop her off. :( We're hoping to have better luck this time!

Yay for aunties and grandmas! ;)

I'm hoping to get them into the nursery so we can treat our mothers to a Palo brunch. Since this cruise has sea days late in the itinerary, I'm hoping we can do a trial run before our brunch reservation. I'll probably pre-book mid morning on Day 2/our first sea day.

They've never been left in a day care setting before (I stay at home). With DS, I took him to IKEA before our cruise so that he could get some experience in a kids club (he had just turned 3). The girls are too young for that, but I'm thinking maybe we can try it out at a local gym. Lord knows I could use the exercise!
