9/27/14, Returning to the Southern Caribbean

Hello. i will list you as the 2 seprarate cabins.
Send me a PM with cabin numbers, people traveling in each cabin, age of children, if any are on board. Allergies and email address that I can send list to.

Hi Maji
Just sent you a PM (had to figure out how :sad2: ) I really hope I made it on the Late Fish Extenders....if possible I will do for two cabins - both cabins have two adults in them (m/f).

Thanks!

The finalized Late Fish Extender list will go out tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.

Is it true if you buy the $9 signature cocktail in special glass on Day 1 you can reuse glass for rest of cruise and get cocktails for $4.50? I had heard about a beer card that does this...
Did you know that a lot of the snorkel fish like crunchy cat food? We took a baggy along when at Grand Cayman and got tons of pictures due to happy fish.

Party of 2 adults looking for fellow "Disboarders" at second diner seating to fill a table of 8.

Yes, because you are paying for the glass. After you have purchased the first drink of the day in the plastic hurricane glass, just hand them your empty glass and they will hand you a full new glass and only charge $4.50. These special glasses are usually only available the first day. The rest of the cruise the drinks of the day are only around $4.50 in a normal plastic cup.

What is everyone planning on doing with currency on each island. I read that most of the islands use the Eastern Caribbean dollar (EC). I just don't know if we should exchange our US money or not. :confused3

Well look at this.....I got myself up to 10 posts without having to bother anyone with a single one of them! (Oh except for this one.) Wasn't that considerate of me? I paid attention and learned that there is a TEST BOARD for things like that. Because if you waste everyone's time doing your 10 posts here, it usually goes :offtopic:

Okay now that I'm up to 10 what does that mean exactly? What special privilege does that give me? Does that get me into the Facebook group? What if I don't want to be in the Facebook group? What's so special about it that I will complain about not being let in if 3 weeks go by? Why do we need Facebook groups anyway? Isn't that what the disboards are here for?

Ok all that being said, we just booked this cruise and are very excited about it! It was a last minute decision but we just decided to go for it. It looks like it's probably too late to join the FE but I don't think I would have time to make gifts by then anyway.

What's everyone doing in the ports? We are looking into things to do and would love to hear what everyone else is doing. Although I'm sure we will be spending some quality time on the beach doing nothing!:beach:

You are able to buy the drink of the day in a normal glass at a reduced price. Of course, if you buy a drink of the day in the special plastic vessel (not really glass), it is yours to keep, or re-use. If you order a drink and hand your used special vessel to a server or bartender, they will give you a new drink in a clean vessel, and should charge you the same price as if you purchased a drink in a regular glass.

The beer card is not new ... it has been around (in various forms) for more than 10 years ... and is listed on page one of this thread. You have the option of taking the beer mug home, or turning in the mug for a card. If you take a mug home, you can always bring the mug back on a future cruise, and trade it in for a card.

Well, I guess it's our turn! Since we have two cabins -- one for our family and one for my parents, who are joining us -- I'll fill the questionnaire twice. :)

3) Ages of children in your party (at your discretion): DS-10 (will be turning 10 on the cruise) and DD-7

6) Disney Vacation Club owner?: Animal Kingdom Lodge (Kidani) and Grand Californian

We're so excited!!!!

Welcome! Let us know if you will be requesting to join the Facebook page.

lol I wanted 3.5 weeks... hang in there

Currently, the following people have requests to join the FB thread. I am not on the DIS thread every day, but I have not seen any of these people post or introduce themselves on DISboards. Since people tend to use a userID on DIS (instead of their actual names), it is near impossible for us to know who is a valid FB request. This is why we have a post (page 1) to ask people to introduce themselves, and indicate whether they will be asking to join FB. In the post, guests are also asked to send a PM if they encounter any issues or delays.

We chose to make our FB page a closed page, to keep spammers and hackers out of the group. Accordingly, we have no idea whether the following people are spammers, hackers, or people who have not introduced themselves.

On page 1 of this thread, we posted a note about PRIVATE MESSAGING, which requires users to have a post count of at least 10. That is the only benefit of having 10 posts, and is structured by DISboards, not our group.

Participating in FE's does not require you to make anything. When we participate in FE's, we usually buy trinkets which represent our home town / region, or something cruise related. as an example, living in suburban Philadelphia, we often bring Hershey's Chocolates (Hershey, PA), and wrap them in special DCL wrappers. The servers LOVE US chocolate. Even if they do not like chocolate, they use chocolate as a bartering tool with other cast members! :)

What beaches will you be visiting? What made you you select those specific beaches? Are those beaches part of an excursion?

Steven

While I am not participating in FE's on this cruise, I wanted to remind guests to consider donating extra or duplicate FE's.

Sometimes, guests will have extra undistributed FE's, receive duplicate FE's, or may receive items for which they have no use. Instead of throwing them away ... consider donating them to your stateroom hosts or servers ... even if the FE's are for children. Many of the cast members have children, or are friends with other cast members with children. It is not unusual for cast members to take home trinkets for their children. Alternatively, you may consider giving extra / duplicate FE's to children of guests ... though I strongly suggest you first ask their parent for permission.

Well Lincoln Log you the smart one of the two of us lol!
We are also a last minute join on this cruise:banana: We took this cruise a few years ago on a different cruise line therefore we are going to play our excursions by on the go...while this may not be for everyone we decided that we didn't want so much so planned out.

As for the Fish Extenders - I heard about this from a friends daughter (all those degrees of seperation) decided that I couldnt' possibility be left out nor could the couple traveling with us, I'm doing a combo of homemade and purchased...way to much fun and yes it is a bit of work:stir: But once again I would have been so disappointed not to have known and made the effort.

The only tour that I know I must do is the visit to the Batik Village on St. Lucia, I'm a quilter and use Batik fabric all the time. This is the only must of the entire 7 days.

Sorry to post this in the group....Maji31 tried to send you a PM giving you the info you requested for the late Fish Extender Group ....I don't know if it went through...nothing is showing as "sent". Please let me know if you did not receive.
Thanks! Anita/Fullerton416

Who is this post directed at?

By now EVERYONE who has contacted me to participate in Fish Extenders should have their list. If you do not, let me know ASAP!

I've worked really hard to try to accommodate the group. There are 2 main groups, a group that wants to exchange with everyone, and even a late booking group.

I hope that everybody has a great time with this. This is going to be amazing! Don't forget to allow for luggage space for bringing your gifts, and probably even more space for bringing everything home!
This has been an active, large group. I'm looking forward to doing Fish Extenders and the meet up!:yay:
