9/27/09 Wonder 4 night Cruise

I have no idea how to go about organizing the Fish Extender thing. This is my first DCL cruise. Ummm... how about this. Everyone that wants to participate, post that you are, how many are in your group, if they will have their own pocket for the FE, and what the ages are. That will give us all an idea of who/what/how many to shop for. Sound good?

We have a 4 pocket FE for our group, consisting of me (Tricia) age 43, my husband (Brad) age 51, my oldest son (Joshua) age 7, and my youngest son (Daniel) age 4.

We booked our excursion stuff. Brad stayed up until midnight so he could do it as soon as possible. Think he's excited?

Welcome Turk! We're guaranteed Cat 12 too. I don't know if we'll get that ever hopeful upgrade. I'm not holding my breath, but it sure would be nice. :goodvibes

Yes, it is true some people are just crazy about all things Disney.:cloud9:

I was up at the witching hour also waiting patiently for the 12:01 AM to make Palo dining and excursions. :dance3:

Me (42):eeyore: , DH (44) :smickey:, DD (11) :figment:

We booked our excursions, but aren't planning on doing Palo. We talked about it a lot, and finally decided on the Blue Lagoon Beach Day in Nassau. I'm sooooo excited. Can't wait to get out of crappy, ol' West Virginia!

I 2nd that JenniLynn !!

New England has had so much rain between June and July. Kids have had crappy summer vacation.

Seems like Cat 12 GTY is the way to go. We are also in one. :thumbsup2 Your right about the price. This is the cheapest Wonder cruise we had gotten.

They don't have many Cat 12 and families of 4 must be upgraded. So far on our cruises we have stay in Cat 9 and Cat 8, both upgrades. Wishful thinking this time around

Palo is a must do, it is the best dining on the ship!!!!!!!!!!!!! We do both dinner and brunch and I will say that brunch is wonderful.....comes with a free Mimosa which hits the spot.

I can't wait to be able to just sit and relax on the ship. It is like my home away from home.

Hi everyone, just checking in. This will be my second cruise (1st was in Feb.). I'm also in a 12 gty. I was also 12 gty in Feb. but was upgraded to a cat 9 :cool1:.

I'm cruising solo -

I'm up for a meet of some kind, but don't think I'll participate in the FE this time. Someone will need to comprise a list of the ones who do want to participate as you'll need cabin numbers so that you can deliver the goodies.

I'm get a free day (no work) tomorrow so I'm going to see the Harry Potter movie and relax. It's work for me on Saturday.

Do you know of anyone who has went to the Blue Lagoon Beach? Looks like a nice excursion. We are not fond of Nassau so on our last cruise we stayed on the boat. Practically empty. :) But I would love to relax on the beach an extra day.

I don't know anyone who has been there, but it got good review on this board and on Cruise Critic. We thought about doing Atlantis, but were worried it would be too crowded.

You can get information about the island at www dot dolphinencounters dot com. Sorry I can't post the actual link. I don't have enough posts yet.

GTY means guarantee.....You book a category 12 guarantee and this wil be the lowest category on ship you will get. No room assignment is given until closer to sail date but most people end up with upgrades without having to pay higher then cat 12 rate, which is cheapest! :thumbsup2

wow - this thread has been getting busier! YAY!

Anyone cruising with a little girl? Just wondering if our DD will have someone to play with!

I don't completely understand the FE thing, but I do think I want to participate! It would be for 1 FE with 2 pockets (me- 27 and my nephew -6). Tell me what I need to do, what shopping/numbers I need, etc! This will be fun! We are arriving a couple of nights early and staying right in Cape Canaveral a couple of blocks from the beach! So, we should be all pumped before we even get to the dock!!! I'm so excited!! I just got my airfare, transfers and hotel...can you tell vacation is on my mind???? :-)

I don't get the FE thing either, but I think we will participate too! In our group there is my DH (37), me (30), and DD (3).
I am going to read the FAQ thread to find out how it works.

BUT, I do have all my decorations for our door. I am super pumped about that!

so I read through a lot of the FE FAQ thread but I am confused. Do the adults participate or is it children only?

Okay, so I have been reading more about the whole FE thing. I think I get it and it sure sounds like a blast!!! I would be HAPPY to help organize it. I did just sign up for this cruise though, and really, really don’t want to step on anyone’s toes…so let me know if that would be helpful. Jasminerk13, no, it’s not just for the children (unless you count those of us who never grew up as children!!).

I *think* I have everyone here (but please speak up if I missed you!) that will be sailing so far:
Lauri (laurio) with dh(42) dd(3) and dgs(2)
(kfrench) mom (31), step dad (25), daughter (15), daughter (11), and son (9)
Kristi (bound2travel)
The Hazel Family (mmitchell29) Meredith (38), Hubby (41), Son (14), Son (4), Daughter (1)
Jasminerk13 (30) will be traveling with DH (36) and DD (3)
Byejou (33) with DH (34) DS (7) DS (5)
Jennifer (JenniLynn) DH and I will be on this cruise with our two year old DS.
Tinkerrn and DH
Trisha (RVGal) (43) with DH (51), DS (7), and DS (4)
Marc (brandis)
Allaboutdisney1967 (42) with DH(44) , and DD(11)
Chris (AprilTwins) (44), with DH (46), DS (8), and DD (8)
Megan (Turk82) (27) with nephew (6), niece (1), Mom, Dad, 2 brothers and their wives

So, as best I figure it…. Our group thus far consists of 47 people (19 youth ages 1-15, 28 adults). 24 males and 23 females and one dog. :-)

I don't know my stateroom number yet! It will prove to be a crucial piece of info though!! :-)

Good morning everyone!!! 64 more days until our WONDERful cruise!!!!

Welcome to the Cruise!!!!! We can hardly wait for our trip :cool1:

Good job on the FE list, Turks82 :thumbsup2

I was thinking of doing it but I did not know how to update it as people join. Thanks for helping! :)

I am surprising my family with a HUGE upgrade while we are on land. I switched us from Caribbean Beach, which I thought was a perfect precursor to the cruise pirate: and booked us at the Contemporary. I know, it is a little pricey, of course, but this a my gift for them.......CONVENIENCE AND VIEW, not to mention comfort and amenities. :woohoo:

I am hoping to get a good room on the ship too. Waiting for my assignment. 45 days will be 8/10.......:wizard:

Hoping the board starts to pick up a little.

Also, are we all planning on the get together day on departure. We had mentioned possibly a small meet & greet in terminal for those arriving early and we need another before or after the fire drill if anyone is interested. :)

Let me know. :dance3:
