9/27/09 Wonder 4 night Cruise

Does anyone know if this is the last cruise prior to the Wonder going into drydock? If that is the case, are there any pros/cons to that?

I am "holding" a ressie for a few days, just trying to decide if I want to book this for my Mom & I, since the cat 12s are so cheap right now!!

thanks!:goodvibes

I believe this is the last cruise before drydock. Don't know of any pros or cons though.

byejou - are you going to WDW for 3 days before or after the cruise? I'm hoping to go for a couple of days after the cruise myself.

We are going prior to cruising. It will be our first time doing land & sea and from other experienced cruisers I have met on prior cruisers you really want to do the chaos prior to the relaxing....if you catch my drift

I have found other DCL cruises to be so enjoyable and you actually return feeling like you had a vacation. Sometimes days in the parks can make you feeling like you need a vacation.

It is a personal choice and especially begin that the cruise ends on a Thursday. We are flying down Wed. prior and home that Thursday afternoon.

Happy planning. It all works out Magical in the end. :wizard:

Good morning everyone!!!!! Its sure has been stormy here in Jersey. Can't wait to our Sept vacation, especially our WONDERful cruise :cutie:

We don't seem to have a very large group in our forum. Maybe we will the whole ship to ourselves. That would be really nice!!!!! :thumbsup2

Happy planning! princess:

I just got our paperwork from the travel agent and we will be in room # 8046.

I almost fell out when I found out my gift trip was for a suite..omg!!!

Now I have to find out about all the yummy concierge services...lol

Congrats on the suite!

I'm so ready for a cruise that I wish I could bump this one to an earlier one. :goodvibes I've basically been cleared for the time off unless something really strange happens. I've told them "you have until x date to tell me otherwise". I really need to write the time off on the master calendar when I get back to work on Monday. :rotfl:

DH and I will be on this cruise with our two year old DS. We haven't cruised in about three years, and we're so excited to go! Hope to see more people posting soon!

Hi Jenni,

I'm hoping this thread will get more active the closer we get!

***hopefully the summer goes by quickly!!!!***********

Its raining here in Jersey......boy do I wish it were Sept. not June. My boys keep watching the DCL show on Travel Channel. Thank god for DVRs.

Does anyone have a child in the Oceanears Lab, not Club. My 8 yo wants to know if it is better in the older club. I told him, how can it be bad!!!! :thumbsup2

Hope our board gets as excited as us. :rolleyes1

Also, has anyone received a stateroom number yet if not already assigned? We r still anxiously waiting.

It's raining and miserable here too!

DD tells us at least once a day that we need to get in the car and take her to her Mickey boat :rotfl:

3 months and 3 days...whoohooo!!!!!

We can start planning for a meet on the boat....and if we are going to do FE & stuff.

Any imput?

DH and I will participate in anything. We did a meet once with some folks on an RCCL cruise, and it was sort of a disaster. I'm willing to try again though.

Who else is doing a land trip before the cruise? Our options were to stay at AKL or Poly, and DH chose AKL. Anybody stayed at either of those places? Part of me thinks AKL would be fun, and the other part would really like to do the beachy thing at the Poly. So hard to choose!

So don't have any info about Oceaneer's Club or Lab, but I'm sure they're both a blast. DH and I are just hoping that DS will go along with staying at Flounder's nursery a little so we can have a bit of quiet time.

OK, so I'm really excited. Our trip is basically all I think about and talk about. Anybody else obsessed?

We will be on land 4 days prior. I booked ASMovies at a great rate with free dining but I am planning to change ressies to a cabin at Fort Wilderness Campground. Nice and private room (cabin) with full kitchen, private parking at site. Also on lake near MK to see fireworks at night and light show.

We also have tickets to MNSSHP on Friday night. Can't wait, this is a first for us. Kids do not know yet. :rolleyes1

We did the nursery our first cruise and it was ok, our DS was 3 at the time and it was too babyish for him. Now they are 5 & 8.

As far as a meeting. We met with our last group before dinner on day 1, I believe 5pm, at the Promenade Lounge. It was nice. Only stayed about 15 minutes. We also did FE, we had so much stuff everyday. CD, magnets, candy, pirate stuff, key chains, stickers, picture frames....all cute stuff.

We don't have our room yet though, patiently waiting. :thumbsup2

Just checked dcl, we did get main seating for dinner :cool1:
DH gets up early, and he's usually out cold by 9 or so :lmao: I was worried that if we got late seating I'd be eating all by my little lonesome, but now I'm sure he and dd will be available.

Trying to decide on *extras* hubby thinks REAS...I'm leaning more towards Palo brunch (me) then dinner(him)

We were going to try to do the Dolphin experience, but we took dd to the beach and she flipped out when she realized there were things in the water besides kids.lol

3 months, 2 weeks...who's counting :rolleyes1

We just booked few weeks ago and I feel like I am scrambling to catch up in all the planning I would normally do. I expected to have 18 months or so to plan. My husband springs this on me with only 4 months to plan.

We are: me (43), DH (51), DS (7), and DS (4)

This is our first Disney Cruise, the first cruise for our boys, and our 10th anniversary present. :goodvibes

Welcome RVGal....Glad to see you joined us. Hopefully we will have more by the time we sail. Looks like our boys are around the same ages but my oldest turns 8 Sept 5th and this is the first cruise they will be in separate clubs. I m sure they will be fine. Your boys are going to have a blast and you be hook on DCL. :thumbsup2

Happy Anniversary!!!! :flower3:

Feel free to join our cruise meet if we plan one and also in the Fish Extender Exchange. The kids love this. :)

Glad to see a little more activity on the board. I've only done one cruise and we met at 3pm in the Promanade lounge. That gave us plenty of time to get the lifejackets for the drill at 4pm. Then sail away party at 4:30pm.

I believe I have late dinner. No cabin assignment yet, but it is generally too early for gty status to get an assignment. On my first cruise, I didn't get assigned until 2 weeks before the cruise - but it was an upgrade from a 12 to a 9, so I was happy.

So, do people want to do a meet on sailing day? Does anyone want to do a fish extender thing? I'm okay with whatever others would like to do.

Kristi

I'm in for whatever. If we do a meet on sailing day, that would be great. I'm sure we'll have travel stories to exchange by then. ;)

I'll *try* to make a fish extender, but I'll admit right now that I am extremely craft challenged. I make no guarantees that it will stay together.

I made a fish extender last year and I have to say it came out alright but it was a pain for me to make. There are a lot to choose from on ebay for the same amount it would cost in materials. I may purchase a new one with all of our names on it. ;)

Meet and great at 3-3:30 sounds good. We plan to be at the port by 9:30 and on the boat within first 1-3 groups. We could also meet at the port while waiting if anyone is there early......:thumbsup2

We're staying at the Sheraton Four Points Cocoa Beach the night before, so we plan to be at the port early as well. Breakfast at the hotel and shuttle as quickly as possible is what we hope will happen.

If you want to know what we look like, the 4 of us are pictured in my "Come Hell or High Water" trip report (still unfinished... oops...). The link is in my signature.
