Hey guys, we’re only a few days away and right at this moment it looks like it should be pretty clear “sailing” getting to the ship on Saturday. And hopefully we’ll have good weather through out most of the cruise.:sunny:

We have a favor, actually two to ask. First, as we’ve read it has been a stressful, chaotic and ever changing season for our favorite ships. Let’s make sure when we get on board we show the crew and cast members just how much we appreciate their hard work and perseverance through this wild hurricane season. I’m sure if we go on board with that attitude and try to really appreciate the great service they all strive to provide, we will have all of our expectations and then some met.

Second favor, our itinerary is still a little uncertain. No one has definitive idea if we are going to Grand Cayman or a substitute port. I know we’re all also excited that Cast Away Cay has been welcoming recent cruises back to it’s beautiful shores. However, there are three storm systems churning around in the
Atlantic right now. Two of them could have the potential to disrupt our planned itinerary. The favor is this, let’s be flexible and understand that the decisions made by the captain and the company are the best for whatever our circumstances are. Sure we’ll all be disappointed if we miss a port we’ve been looking forward to and or have excursions booked on. But hey we’re sailing during hurricane season. And even if we weren’t, itineraries are always subject to last minute changes, just the nature of the industry.

So please, lets make sure no one can post a report about our trip where people can be heard screaming at Cast Members because we had to change a port of call. Sure there are many, many passengers who don’t read these boards, but lets see if we can be the purveyors of a lot of pixie dust and happy thoughts.

We’re going to be on one of the most beautiful ships in the world cruising the Caribbean and not at work or running the kids to school and activities. Let’s enjoy and savor the experience. We will make this cruise what it is going to be, so let’s make it the best since hurricane season started.:smooth:

See you all on board in just a few short days! I think we’ve skipped counting the days and are starting to count the minutes.

Have a Great Time on your cruise.......

I'm sure that the stress level has been running high for awhile on board - so your posting definitely makes great sense!

Great post. :earsgirl:

My dh said this morning, "I don't care where we go as long as I'm on the ship and they have chicken fingers by the pool."

And for anyone who will be at the port on Saturday, please ignore the screams that may come from my 4 year old dd -- she thinks we're going to the beach for a vacation, and has no idea that we're going back on "Mickey's Boat". I'm not really sure what she's going to do when she realizes she's been conned.

I'm in total agreement. It's always easy to be nice when everything goes your way.

The true measure of an individual is how they react in an adverse situation and in particular how they treat those beneath them.

Hey Marcy, that is going to be such a great surpise for your daughter! And I'm with your husband, just park me on the ship and let me belly up to the endless supply of food.

BigAl, I appreicate your comment, or was that a quote? I ask because I hope no one could infer from my post that I think the crew and cast members are beneath us. Nothing can be further from my mind. They may be there to serve, but as part of their chosen jobs and not by viture of station. I think the more relateable we are with them the more they will relate to us and a better time will be had by all.

I ALWAYS treat the CM's with big smiles and pixie dust and will even step it up a notch this weekend when we sail Sat......I am determined to have a great cruise #11 with DCL. I always feel like I am "home" when I step onboard the Magic.

I could care less where we are stopping or what the seas are like.....as long as I am on the ship I am a happy sailor!!!!

I hope everyone that travels to the port has a safe journey and can't wait to meet everyone onboard!!!

MJ

We're right there in total agreement with youe MJ!

Allears,

What a great attitude to start your trip with. I hope you have a very Magic-al time!

take good care of our suite!

Having been purusing the threads regarding some of the recent cruises with the "Disney can't do anything right" frame of mind, I wanted to bump this up.

Only a few more days and we're so excited. We've already been found out about one port change, and who knows what will happen while we're at sea next week? We don't, but we don't care! We'll be once again on the Magic with our family enjoying all that this ship and it's crew have to offer. It sure will beat the heck out of sailing my desk through the day!

Very well said, allears. You have the right attitude and I hope everyone that is cruising with us on 9/25 takes a few minutes to read your post.

I am stunned and dismayed by all the people that have complained about changed itineraries, etc. None of it is Disney's fault and as you said, any changes they make are for the SAFETY of their passengers.

We had only one excursion planned for this cruise, and it happened to be the Stingrays in Grand Cayman. Because of the hurricanes, we will not be stopping in Grand Cayman. Although we were looking forward to the experience, we know it's not Disney's fault that we can't go now. Instead we are looking forward to seeing a new port and maybe doing an unexpected excursion. But even if we don't stop at any ports at all - my family will have huge smiles on our faces the whole week because we feel so fortunate and blessed just to be onboard the fabulous Magic for the second time!

I have to say that I am honored to be traveling with such a great group of people-i am so excited for this cruise and an added bonus to meet all of you who i have been corresponding with over the last few months! i agree that wherever the Magic takes me is fine with us! just get me outta here! as long as i am cruising with the loves of my life, a cold tropical drink in hand and able to watch the buckeyes, i will be as close to perfect as i can imagine!
see you all in 3 days!!!!!!!!!!:bounce: princess: ::MickeyMo :grouphug: :teacher: :jumping1: :wizard: :cool1: :flower: :cat: :cheer2: my daughter helped me pick out the smilies

What a great attitude - you're sure to have a great trip! :) If I could ask a favor of the 9/25 cruisers on behalf of those of us sailing 10/9 (the next Western after you)... if someone could save their Navigator that includes Costa Maya excursion descriptions and prices (and then post it, of course :teeth: ), I'm sure we'd all be ever so grateful! Bon Voyage and have a wonderful time!

Zitofamily & dinnysuw, Amen & Amen!

Our last voyage on the Magic was a western, and we chose not to visit Grand Cayman (we always pick one port at which we stay on board). This time we had a tour booked. Oh well, no biggie. I would actually feel really guilty playing on that island that many people call home, whose homes were damaged or destroyed. There is always next time! We're excited about a new port but so much more excited to be back on the Magic and being together.

Missing one or any ports simply doesn't compare to what people have had to endure as a result of this hurricane season, so we count ourselves very bless indeed to have the chance to have this awesome vacation.

See you all real soon!:earsboy:
