CONGRATULATIONS
to mary on finding your keys!! :rotfl::rotfl2:

Hey everyone!

I'm ok, it's just been a busy couple days. I had off Wed and Thurs and spent Wed with Joe and yesterday was my nephew's 11th birthday. We went to Six Flags Great Adventure, a local amusement park. I can't stand that place LOL. It was so crowded. I was there from 12:30 til 8:30 and got on three rides. 4 if you count the kiddie ride I went on with my 3 yr old nephew. So ridiculous! I'm glad I had a free ticket!

Karen, what email did you send it too? My work email or jln82@optonline.net? My work email had the out of office reply on so if you sent it there, it probably didn't go through and my mailbox is probably full.

Lainey, your house looks great! I like the comforter you guys have in your bedroom. It's cute. You're packed already? Wow, I'm behind.

Oh, Karen your FEs look great! I spotted ours in the picture. :rotfl:

Thank goodness I found the keys!! They were in the Lady's car that I went to lunch with yesterday. I was SO sure that I had them at my desk after that, to open up that cabinet that I had the money in for the girls shower that is next week. Guess I was dreaming or something...but I have them now, so YAY for that!! :cool1:

Karen, the FE map opened fine for me too. It could have something to do with the version of word that people have, if it isn't opening right.

I got my new camera yesterday!! It's SO small, smaller than my cell phone!! I can't wait to use it at castaway cay and atlantis!!

SO close to vacation now!! I'm getting anxious!! :wizard:

where do i start?

i got home from taking the dog out at about 4pm, then did a bit of housework as my brother is coming over this weekend for my birthday. i decided to have a bath, so i ran the bath. i had all the windows in the house open as i have had recently (its been quite warm and its nice to air the house out). well i smell this burning smell. nothing unusual, we live near a lot of fields so am used to the burning crops smell.
it starts to get quite smoky, so i go and close all the windows. just about to get in the bath when i realise its suddenly gone VERY dark. look out the window and i cant see the houses at the other side of the road. thinking this is a bit wierd, but i just thought one of the farmers is burning something, and its really windy so its blowing the smoke over.
then i look at the field behind the houses across the road and notice its on fire.
start getting a bit worried at this point. i go outside and ask the neighbours whats going on.
well long story short, the field thats ACROSS THE ROAD from the field opposite my house is on fire. the fire has CROSSED THE ROAD and has set our field alight. the neighbours across the road are trying to hose their fences down so they dont catch fire.
eventually a fire engine turns up, quickly followed by 4 more.
the fire has blown across the field and is now making its way down the street, behind the houses down the side of my house (we live on the corner). someone i used to work with's garden was fully alight, and it set fire to 2 houses in the road further down from us.
its now about 3 hours later, its pitch black, 2 and a half (terraced) houses have been burnt down, a car has been burnt to a crisp, my friend has lost her garden shed and decking (luckily the house was ok), a house on the other side of the field has been singed, a lot of people now have VERY burnt back gardens.
i feel sooooo sorry for the people in the 2 houses that are totally decimated now. they've lost everything. as of about 45 minutes ago they were still on fire, but under control.
i feel relieved that we're on the non field side of the road but i cant even start to imagine how the people whose houses burnt down are feeling.
garys on his way back from manchester, and they've closed all the surrounding roads, so he'll have to park about a half mile away and walk back.

i'm still in a bit of shock really.

jenny, i had your email address down wrong, i didnt have the 82 bit on the end. i've re-sent it now so you should get it this time

OMG! That's terrible! I'm glad you're ok though. It must have totally freaked you out to see that though, I can only imagine. No one was hurt were they?

I got the email. I can't open it from work and I doubt I'll be able to open it from home because that computer is more outdated than this one. :sad2: I need a new compy. I'm gonna get one before or after the trip especially for my TR!

if you want i can bring an extra copy and give it to you before the cruise?

yeah we're all ok, gary's back now and we've just had dinner. i've got the start of a bad headache, i think its *** of the worrying earlier. according to the web 2 people got taken to hospital with smoke inhalation and stress, but no one was seriously injured.

i feel exhausted right now, it just feels like someone has beaten the c**p out of me. i think its the (kinda) stress of it all earlier, i know we weren't directly affected, and i dont know the people whose house burnt down, but its horrific seeing someone's house burning down.

Karen, that's terrible!! It must have been awful to watch those people's house burn down. Thank goodness you and Gary (and Cerby!) are all okay, and your house too.

I'm still at work, LOL!! I have rescheduled my next test for after vacation, I'll just study before hand and then do a few questions a day to keep in practice. I just didn't want to go into it unprepared, and my work has been INSANE this week...oh, well.

Now I can work on the FEs this weekend, Yay!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend!! :goodvibes

i woke up this morning, looked out the window and saw 2 more fire engines parked outside. my initial thought was "oh s**t, whats going on now?". i went outside and turns out someone had called them again saying they thought they saw something still smouldering. but they turned around and left pretty quickly so presume it was all ok.
i took the dog down the park, and i'm still really thankful we weren't affected by it all (apart from a LOT of dirt and ash everywhere), but the inside of my car smells like it belongs to a 40 a day smoker. gross. i've had that car for 5 years and its never been smoked in (i dont smoke, but i havent got anything against people who do, i just dont like the smell)
i've also had to open every single window in the house to try and air the smoke and ash smell out. you dont realise that even though doors and windows are closed, the smoke still gets in.
i think i'm going to have to go buy a couple of bottles of febreeze (fabric freshener spray stuff) and just use a whole bottle of it in my car and another in the house

Ugh. I hate the smell of smoke. When I house sat for my sister, her house reeked of smoke (she smokes like a pack a day, blech). She's so desensitized to it but it ended up with me catching a cold. I have nothing against people who smoke cigarettes but I just don't understand what is so appealing about it. I'm glad all the restaurants around here are non-smoking now.

Febreeze is the solution to everything! ;)

yeah i think its going to be an entire bottle in my car.
just had another arghhhh moment, seen 4 fire engines blaring down the road. apparently there's a fire at a farm on the island on the other side of the village. its not been a good weekend for great wakering :(

Karen, that's awful -- what a scary weekend!! :scared1: I hope everything calms down. Has it been really dry there lately? They're always having fires in California here because it's so dry.

I'm working on finishing the FEs this weekend. I have a few things that I need from some of you though. For the guys, i'm putting a little bottle of liquor in the bag -- I still need suggestions on what to get for some of the guys. Here's what I have:

Jen -- Joe (Jack Daniels or Tequila)
Karen -- Gary (anything wet, LOL)
Lainey -- Gret (Vodka)
Stacey -- Chris (??)
Donna -- Bob (Kahlua)
Amy -- Alan (??), Bob (??), Jon (??)
Stephanie -- Paul (??)
Christina -- Martin (??)

Also, Donna -- is Voni over 21? I'm not sure what all i'm putting in the ladies bags, but just in case!! Thanks!!

Someone just had me on the phone for 45 minutes about Disney World and the dining plan. Wanted to know exactly what they could get to eat with it. Not the type of meals that are included with the dining plan but the type of food at each location. Seriously...:rolleyes2:crazy2:
