9/24/09 3 Day Wonder - Cruise Meets, and FEs, and Goombays oh my!

My husband and I are going on a "post babymoon" cruise on 09/24. Can't wait! It will be the first time in two years that we've had any kind of vacation. The kiddos are staying with Grandma.

Just wanted to say hi. Happy to see so many people going on the same cruise!

since we are on the land and sea package and you book it all throught the crusie line we dont have a resort confirmation number so i can only book for the 20th which i did and we did the fantasmic dining package but we are eating at 3:40 but the show doesnt start til 8pm so we should be able to do a few rides after dinner but i think we may skip using a quick service that afternoon and we may use it when we get back to the hotel at captain cooks depending on how late it is open the only places i am worred about now are le cellier and CRT since i have to wait til wednesday to call for CRT and thursday to call for lecellier if i have to we can eat lunch at le cellier and do quick service for dinner which to greg it wont matter as long as we have food. Keep your fingers crossed i can get the other ones i want

Lainey, you called and they still won't let you do the 90 + 10? That is crazy!! You should try calling back, because as long as you are staying on site, you should be able to do that.

I called to make my ADRs today! I have to say, I'm a little disappointed. I couldn't get Le Cellier. At all. For any day of my stay. I still have a couple more to make but I can't until next Monday because that's when my after cruise reservation for AKL hits the 90 day mark. That should be easy because I only need Hoop Dee Doo and San Angel Inn.

Here is what I got:

9/20 - Sci Fi 5:40 pm
9/21 - Donald's Breakfast @ Tusker House in AK 8:10 am
Ohana's - 9:30 pm I'm not sure I'll be keeping that one. I wanted one around 7 so we could see Wishes afterward but I couldn't get ANYTHING earlier.
9/23 - Since I couldn't get Le Cellier, I got Coral Reef at 1:30pm

Good luck, Lainey! That is such a pain. Disney really has to figure out a way to deal with this. They have issues when it's not a direct Disney resort reservation.

they got it fixed i got a more senior disney castmember on the line the second time i called and she looked it up through the resort and was able to find us and do the reservations but unfortunatly we only got 2 of the ones we were hoping for i got the fantasmic dinner package @ brown derby and breakfast the day before the cruise @ WCC (greg was really happy about that)
the others i was unable to get but i am happy with the ones i chose in their place the day @ AK(9/21) we are eating dinner @ the Tusker house @ 4:15 i like it i have eaten there a couple of times
9/22- lunch @ Liberty Tree Tavern @ 1pm so we are gonna do a counter service for dinner since we will be there late anyway
9/23- the yatchsmen steakhouse @ Yatch Club at 5:30 and then onto jelly rolls to meet with some crazy cruise people i figured that would work since we were talking about going back to Epcot for EMH after jellyrolls the lady i talked to the second time said i was a girl after her own heart when i told her about us going to epcot and drinking our way around the lands
Greg said that this just means we have to go back soon so that i can eat at CRT i told him we need to go back for our 1year anniversary next sept.

I'm glad you were able to get them booked! I'll have to look into the Yachtman's Steak House. I booked Coral Reef for lunch instead but I'd rather do a TS for dinner. I may move our breakfast at Tusker House to a later time also.

Okay girls (and guys that occasionally lurk), I have got to be stopped!! I am like an insane fish extender lady!! I just can't stop!! LOL

So, I started off with just the one crafty gift. Then, I decided I just HAD to get something for the kids, don't want to leave them out!! Then, I found some other cute things so I decided to do 2 nights instead of just one. So, now i'm doing 2 days, and I got everyone bubbles!! But this is it. I really have to stop.

Oh, one question. For those of you with grown up male companions, or who are a grown up male, what is your or his favorite kind of alcohol? Thanks!!

i've got expensive taste, baileys all the way for me!! i drank way too much over the weekend with my friend, half a liter of baileys, half a bottle of taboo, and about a third of a bottle of peach schnapps...... hic!

i'm looking at captains grille the night before the cruise, i'd love to try yachtsmans, but its two credits so that went out the window
i've actually gotta call disney later and make my last 4 adr's, they're only the less popular ones so i'm not too bothered if i dont get these specific ones, i got the important ones for the first 8 nights so it wont be the end of the worl if i cant get them.
now if i was trying to book CRT and le cellier today, then i'd be more worried about calling now....

Where is Captain's Grille? Is that at the Yacht Club too? I could get a res at Yachtsman but I didn't realize it was 2 credits until I looked into it more. Bummer.

So far I'll keep my reservation at Coral Reef. I really wanted to do a TS dinner that night but if I can't, ah well. I'll be less rushed to meet up with you fabulous people.

Oh and Joe is a Jack Daniels or tequila guy.

Ok I looked up Captain's Grille. It looks yummy. I made a reservation there for 9/23 at 6:45. I still have my Coral Reef reservation for lunch. As the time gets closer we'll decided what we want to do.

For 9/21, the only thing I could get for Ohana was 9:30 Not sure if I want to eat there that late! So I made a back up ADR at WCC for 7:30.

What do you guys think? Any places you like better than others?

yeah the captains grill is at the yacht club. i didnt fancy wasting 2 credits on yachtsman, and i thought that was a good second option! think i'm going to try and get it for about 5.30 - 6pm, that way we'll be done by the time we meet up. looks like we'll be there the same time
i still havent got round to calling for the last of my adrs, i'll probably do it tomorrow now, i'm too tired to call now, and as i said none of them are urgent anyway......

we are doing yatchmen bc since we didnt do CRT we have 2 TS credits left and greg was looking forward to steaks so i figured it would be good and that way we wont feel rushed to get to jelly rolls to meet yall. Oh Mary greg is a vodka guy.
the more i think about it the happier i am about getting the places we did get instead of the ones we were trying for that gives me somthing to look forward to on our next trip. jen i loved ohanas and i tried to get one there this time instead of the tusker house for dinner since we were going to be going back to the poly anyway but they were booked on the 21.
oh WE PAID OFF THE CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all!
Mary, Bob likes Kahlua....either on the rocks, or in his coffee. He says it is like drinking candy.

So I sent an email to Disney Tech Support about not being able to enter my DVC reservation into the website to make my ADR's. They emailed me back telling me that I needed to talk to DVC Member Services. So I copied and pasted my email from Tech Support into an email to Member Services and they tell me they can't resolve the problem on the website, and suggested that I call member services on Friday to make my reservations. Well, I don't want to do that because they don't start answering the phones until two hours after Disney Dining opens...and it's gonna be tough enough to try and get Le Ceillier as it is, why is it that they have to be so frustrating sometimes!

Jen, Captians Grill is good, but I really like Coral Reef. It was really cool with the big aquarium glass walls and the food was good. Lainey -- Yachstmans is awesome!! Their filet is one of the best, I love their lobster bisque, and the cheese plate was yummy!! We ate there last year when we were on free dining and did the upgrade to deluxe.

OOOOOOO Jen, I saved us so much money on the comfort suites thing!! LOL!! I found a different rate for fans of the LPGA (basically, anyone) and saved a whole $10!! Yay!!

Donna, let me know what you find out about the DVC thing, i'm curious. If you don't hear anything, I can try and make you a Le Cellier ressie if you want, my date is next Monday. I'm curious, you said that you can call on Friday? I thought that 90 days from the 27th was on Monday? We are trying to get a ressie for Le Cellier too, but I can try for you after that if you want!! Let me know!!

Donna, that's really annoying!! I love Disney but on some aspects, they need to get their act together. Especially with releasing hours and making ADRs!

Mary - Woohoo! Extra drink!

I think I am going to keep my lunch ADR at Coral Reef. That way I won't feel like I'm rushing through dinner to meet up with you guys if we're running late. I'm going to cancel my ADR at Ohana and go to WCC instead. I really want to go to Ohana but that's just too late to eat dinner! I wanted to go check out WL anyway so there's my excuse.

Lainey, congrats on paying off the cruise!

Next up...shore excursion booking. That should be easy. I hope.

i did mess up one of them, looking at the park hours, i'd have liked to have swapped chef mickeys and 50's prime time round, but i cant get a good time for chef mickeys on the 19th, the earliest i could get was 9.30pm, so i've just left it as it is, and we'll just have to park hop a bit.
i'm looking forward to spending a couple of relaxing quiet nights at the AKL, we were only there for about 36 hours last time so it'll be nice to have some more time to explore!!

You are right, 90 days out is on Monday....Friday I can do my cruise excursions. I was messing around with the dining reservations today, pretending I was going the second week of September, It let me plan out a week of meals and only asked for my phone number. Perhaps there is hope that I will be able to do everything online after all!

Anyway I just got back from our Staff Picnic, of course we pick a day when it is 95 degrees outside. My goodness was it hot. Poor Lilo looked like she was going to melt. I kept pouring water on her little back. When we finally left, I got her in the car and cranked up the air conditioning and she slept all the way here. So I am back at work and Lilo, Kelly and my brother are headed back home from the picnic!
