i've officially transferred my DCL booking to the travel agents, she's just called me to confirm all the details. i love hearing american accents, it reminds me that i'm going on holidays!! i made sure she knew about our reservations being linked and gave her the numbers, i want to make sure it wont affect that!!

Now I'm looking at AKV It's actually cheaper than WL! We'll probably end up staying with WL. You can't beat the location, I like the MK ferry, the hotel itself is beautiful, the pool looks awesome...the only thing I don't love is the room decor.

We have to stay linked up! I don't want to lose my tablemates.

the AKL is awesome!! the club level is soooo nice! and not that much more expensive than savannah view (and it automatically comes with savannah view)

I was looking at the studio villas there. I love the decor of the rooms, so colorful. They said I can request a savannah view because more than half of the villas come with a savannah view at no extra charge. It comes out to be $484 for two nights. It's $504 at WL. Hmmmm.

you should try the AKV, its awesome over there. have you thought of renting DVC points? me and mary are renting points this time.
for 2 nights savannah view at AKV its 22 points. at an average of $10 a point, you could get savannah view for $220.
just a thought!

Just make sure if you rent points you get a contract before you pay!! Luckily I never paid the guy that just never got back to me!! AKV looks really nice, and the Savannah View is awesome, it's so nice to see animals on your balcony!!

I have not yet decided. I don't know how I feel about renting DVC points. I've gotten burned buying stuff from people on the internet before and I don't really trust giving people my money and having them make the reservation for me. If I booked it myself, it'd be less money than I'm paying for WL anyway, so I don't mind doing it that way.

Where should I stay girls??

On the one hand, WL has the prime location. We always spend our last morning at MK, we're planning on going to Hoop Dee Doo (I'm not sure when yet), probably going to have breakfast our last day at WCC, and I like that they have a ferry. The hotel itself and the grounds are gorgeous but I'm not wild about the room decor. Seems a little rustic and dark. I think I read that the rooms are bigger than AKL though. Another positive is that Joe has never stayed here.

On the other hand, AKV is a little out of the way and has bussing to pretty much everything. No ferry. But it's a little less expensive and we love animals so it'd be really cool to be able to see the animals from our room. I keep thinking about having breakfast out on our balcony. And I love the way the rooms look. So bright and colorful! Joe has stayed here with his family before but I think it was only for one night because his dad wanted to check it out.

the AKL is such an amazing place, i was looking at the WL for last year and i'm the same as you, the rooms do nothing for me. plus the views from the rooms arent that great. whats the point of having a balcony if you're overlooking a parking lot or a roof.
the AKL was so nice, we had jetlag so were up at 3am both mornings and it was so nice sitting on the balcony at that time in the morning watching antelope walking by.
if it were me i'd pick the AKL hands down.

hows everyone's day been? i had a c**p day at work, by 10.30am i wanted to walk out. was just so frustrated with the radio station staff, i'd had enough less than 2 hours into the day.
but luckily its 9.20pm now, its the weekend, and i've just had a chocolate bar. life is good again. i really want a glass of baileys but i cant for the sake of the diet.

garys working tomorrow so i'm going to go for a walk round town and go shopping. because i did some overtime earlier in the month i've got a bit more money left than i would normally have at this time of the month so going to go try and get some holiday clothes.

I switched it! I was thinking since we're going to do WCC for breakfast one day anyway, we'll get to see WL. We can mini-tour the resort and take pictures without actually having to stay there. So now I'm staying at AKL so I get the best of both worlds! I requested savannah/landscaping view so I won't have to look at a parking lot.

Sorry that you had a bad day at work. My day has been pretty busy actually! This is really the only down time I've had all day and I used it to DIS and switch my room.

yay for staying at AKL!! i wish we could stay there again, but its not working for this trip, its too expensive to book, i could rent DVC but i'd lose the free dining, i think next time we go it'll be renting DVC for the whole trip and we'll try and stay there, but this trip is supposed to be more of a budget conscious trip than the last one.
i went to matalan earlier with my 20% voucher, and i got 3 strappy tops, and 2 pairs of cropped trousers. gary ended up buying double the amount of clothes i did!

You could always come visit us at AKL! We're planning on going over to Epcot that Sunday 9/27 for the F&WF but we're going to go to the hotel to check in first.

Joe just got a TON of new clothes. He out spent me so far!

we''ll be doing the same, heading to the hotel straight from the port then over to epcot for F&WF, then prob MK in the evening as it'll be our last day
think i'm going to have a nice relaxing day tomorrow, some me time. i need it

Well if you find the time, you're more than welcome to swing by and soak up the AKL atmosphere. We'll probably just be doing Epcot Sunday and hanging around the resort on Monday.

its worth making time to walk around and take in the resort, its gorgeous and the attention to detail they put in to building it is astounding!

I definitely will! I don't have any set plans for the Monday after the cruise. I just plan on hanging by the pool and taking pictures of the resort, maybe heading over to Typhoon Lagoon.

Hey Jenny, we are checking in Kidani Village on Sunday, 9/27 right after the cruise...then headed to EPCOT. At least that is the plan right now...we are on a waiting list for Bay Lake Tower, but they told me realistically that probably won't happen. I was very excited yesterday because we got all the paperwork for the DVC deed, and today they took out the first payment..so we are Official Disney Vacation Club Members! It was a long five year wait to get it in the budget, so Bob and I are very very excited..and can't wait until we hear someone say "Welcome Home!"

I think I have the cruise line all set up now. I sent them a letter from my doctor about having a bad case of motion sickness and requested to be assigned a cabin mid-ship. I called them today to make sure they got all of the forms and paperwork, and was told they will do their best to accommodate my needs. I also got my prescription for the motion sickness patch, I guess that makes me as ready as I can be for sailing. I still don't know when I will get my cabin assignment, but at least I feel more confidant that this cruise will be much better than the first one I was on.
