Day 1:
Our trip to Disney world was from September 22nd to September 30th. The cast was: DH 43, me, 38, DS 8 and DD 5.
We arrived at the airport on September 22nd after working a ½ day. The kids went to school for a ½ day and we were all very excited to start our vacation. Our drive to Atlantic City airport was uneventful and we parked right across the street from the terminal. Our check in was quick and easy and we were stopped by a woman who asked us about our travel plans. We were not sure how to take this, but then she explained that she was a reporter from the Newark Star Ledger and she was doing an article on the airport and its qualities, as well as the great deals offered by Spirit Airlines. After a five minute interview, we were on our way to security where we were in a line of about 4 people. Our total time from parking lot to entrance at the gate was only about 20 minutes. We were very pleased with this. We decided to get a bite to eat at the restaurant and $45 later, we had the most expensive chicken nuggets and french fries we had ever eaten.

Our flight left Atlantic City on time and we arrived in Orlando at 6:30pm. By 7:00 we had our luggage and were at National Car Rental in the Emerald Aisle picking out our vehicle. We chose a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix after a long walk up and down the aisle. Our original choice, a G6 with a moon roof was snatched up when we turned our heads. On the way out, DH realized that the car was a tad small for him since he is 6’ 4”, but after some adjustments we were on our way to the CBR.

We drove up to the Custom House after a short drive and checked in. Our check in went smoothly and then I stood on line for the concierge to find out how many days were left on our non-expiration passes. This line was very slow, and the cast member had a lot of trouble trying to answer my question. Finally after what seemed like forever, he told me we had 6 days left. More than we thought, so we were quite pleased!

The other members of our party had arrived early in the morning on the 22nd after a 7:00 am flight and they were all tired out. They are my DSister, D Niece and Dgreat niece. We had connecting rooms in the Jamaica section, Building 46. The room was not as close to the quiet pool as I would have liked, but I did not pay for a water view room so I could not complain. By the time we got in at around 8:00, DgN and DS were sleeping.

DN walked with us to the food court where we had our first opportunity to use our Free Dining Plan. The food court was very nice, but it didn’t seem to offer as many choices as CS or POR. It was about a 5 or 10 minute walk from our room. I did like the fact that the main pool, known as Old Port Royale was very close to the food court , gift shop and arcade. I had Chicken with fettucine and sauce and a piece of chocolate cake. DH had a meatball sub and a brownie, DS had a personal pepperoni pizza and a muffin. DD had a kids meal with a drum stick, mac & cheese and cornbread. Everyone enjoyed their meal, especially since it was free!

After dinner, we sat outside and had a drink. It was very pleasant outside. There were lots of tables near the small bar called the Banana Cabana. This was located between Centretown and OPR. There was also a ping pong table and a fountain, which the kids found very interesting.

Overall, our impression of CBR was very good. We preferred the layout and the size over CSR, but I think they offered more choices in the foodcourt. Also, the pool at CSR blows CBR’s pool away.
