9/19/09 Western Magic

My sister came through with the FE...wait until y'all see .....I told her to immediately start a biz on ebay. I will post pics this evening..if I can find the camera and the cable, because in addition to my dining room table being consumed by packing away FE stuff....now, the Living room has been eaten by half-packed suitcases for three people, plus a half (Jasmine is packing up in Portland, but I am packing stuff for her too....).

ARRRGGGHHHH....

Oh Karen! I am sooooo relating to this post! Things half done strewn everywhere I look! aaahhhh!

I did manage to accomplish something today, I got the inside of my van cleaned out. Oh my word a huge project but it is done

Had a friend stop by and take my kids out with her as she went to pick up my dry cleaning for me and then took them out to eat for lunch! She came back an hour later and stuck her head in and said "we can go away again for a while. . " they stayed and she helped with the "car cleaning project" and then took my kids again to go bowling and out to dinner! Leaving my DH and myself to clean up a little and run out to dinner with NO KIDS. OMG! Can you even imagine? What a gift that was! They are not back yet, little piece of heaven amidst the chaos of this last week.

Kim - so glad you got your car cleaned up.....how nice for your friend to help you out like she did! That is a Godsend!!! I'm glad you enjoyed some date time with your DH!

MJ - I'm so glad you're on board with us - literally! I have seen a bunch of posts on other threads from you.....very helpful! I can't wait to meet you!

Oh, and on the packing cubes thing! I was skeptical at first, but I ordered one set and LOVE THEM! I really do, so much so that I ordered more and am waiting for them now to finish up. I actually got 3 suitcases completely done tonight! It felt sooooo good. I got the girls princess/dressy dress suitcase packed.....yes, one suitcase for that stuff..... Then I got my suitcase done (using packing cubes). Then I put all my FE bags in one suitcase (took up the whole thing!). Oh, I forgot, I also packed one small piece of luggage with the odds and ends stuff that we're taking.....stuff for the room, sunscreen, etc, etc. So I got a lot accomplished! I feel pretty good!

Ok, I need to go to bed now!!

All the FE giats and clothes and trading pins and suitcases everywhere lying on the bed and floor back home look so much better here in my room at CBR

Going to Magic Kingdom tomorrow with lunch at Crystal Palace. Dinner tonight was in Norway with the princesses; Ariel was amazing. Gotta love free dining.

Today I got my door magnets printed and most of the journal pages for the girls. DH did most of his packing tonight, although last he told me he is missing half of his pirate costume,(the pants). Tomorrow I plan to get the girls packing done and as much of mine as I can, but I will still need most of my clothes this week.

Gretchen , Yeah, I didn't even realize how stressed out I was until I took a break from it kwim? She is a fabulous friend and I kept telling her no, no I am fine just busy , no, no nothing you can do until she finally just came by and kidnapped my kiddos an dmy dry cleaning reciept sitting on the counter!

Sometimes I am not so good at asking for help! And then to have my DH help with the car? That was GOLD, I'm telling you.

Sounds like you got tons done today I was so happy to hear others are packing similar amounts to me in the number/types of suitcases. I think packing for a cruise is way different then any packing I have ever done. And I am pretty experienced I always think.

packing cubes. . . you guys are gonna have to show me these things, really! I can't figure out what the big deal is. Is it kinda like soft sided draw dividers or something? hhhmmm. I did go to a couple sites and looked at them, I have seen/heard about them from Eagle Creek pack it cubes a few years back and forgot about them. Glad they worked for you!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!!! I made a note of some of the meet time and will try to meet up if possible.....hubby just wants to chill this week...really stressful last few months!!

Anyway.....just received my packing cubes.....of course I didn't think I needed them until I read the thread about them on the cruise board and will have to try using them this trip....people rave about them so we will see!!!

We are heading in West Palm on the 17th to visit FIL and then driving to PC on Friday sometime. Staying at the Four points Sheraton in PC the night before.

So many having celebrations!!! Have safe travels everyone....a week from now we will all be getting ready to head to the port!!!

Hi everyone, (Tinnk&Cinderella here - using DH laptop and sig in name)

The week has been a busy one....

One of my kids at work had a birthday and I made him a spider man cake and we had a little party for him... he was thrilled! This is the little brother to the older boy who had spoken about in the past.

Another one of my older girls was in a horrific car accident the car was airborne and flipped several times. Thankfully she is ok - needing 30 stitches to her arm.

Another one of my charges is an unhappy little camper and asked for a teen bible and a journal and along with a Chicken Soup for the Christian Teen Soul it cost like $98.00 .. but its not everyday that I get this type of request so I am happy to buy this stuff for her.

Along with hair cuts, cheerleading camp, specialist appointments for my own kids and back to school as well as packing and organizing our two puppies for the trip, we have bee busy busy busy.... and it seems only on Saturday and Sundays that I get a chance to come on the DIS.... WOW lots of pages to catch up on..

To all of you who are about to or have just left....I wish you safe travels.

Can't wait till Tuesday night when our adventure begins with the arrival of my parents and pedicure for the girls.

tomorrow my teens come home from their fall retreat with their youth group along with their so a busy day for sure.

Started on organizing paperwork today. Anyone have a specific list of papers you are taking with you that you could post? (mmm, Paige, sounds like your kind of thing!) I am afraid I am either forgetting something vital or taking to much! I don't know!! Do I need birth certificates or copies of them if we have passports? Do I need my DCL contract and my Travel Insurance contract with me? If I know my kids immunizations are current is that enough, just to know? or do I need a record of it or just my Pediatricians phone number. . . and original prescriptions. . and MY BRAIN IS FRIED!

Too funny!

Got 80% of my packing done yesterday. I am definitely packing lighter. Fewer shorts, tops, shoes, etc. Every cruise I tell myself to pack lighter, but don't adhere to that. But this cruise I am. I plan on making a stop at Keno's at Key West as soon as we get off the ship and will probably buy a pair of shoes or two there. If anyone is planning to go to Keno's, they close around 2p-3p on Sunday.

Safe travels to all. For those of us still not there, the week will go by fast when we think of that beautiful ship waiting for us and all the fun we'll have. Unfortunately, that week will fly by. I really don't like Thursdays on the Magic as that means we are, unfortunaely, getting closer to Cape Canaveral.

I just found it through Google- kinosandals.com They look really comfy and inexpensive too. I am thinking a shoe stop is in order for me.

I bought my first pair of Kinos last October while in Key West and the cost was about $12. They're very comfortable and durable. Kinos is accessible behind Duvall Street, near the main trolley stop.

I have heard you need your license to get into the terminal at port that may just be for whoever parks and enters w/out docs? But I am not sure about that?
THose are the docs I am bringing along with FE list and map. HTH! No birth certificates and no peds records here....praying we won't need that. But bring whatever forms you feel comfortable with

We are staying at CIS on Friday night and figure that the kiddos will be up at the crack of dawn on Saturday.
