How terrible, I am glad to hear TOny wasn't hurt though. I hope you can get it all worked out quickly. If Brooklyn wants to write to Courtney let me know, she loves writing to her new cruise friends.

Hi,

Brooklyn would love to write Courtney. The kids were really excited to find out that there were kids that they would be able to email before we sail. Our email address is jtbbs@rogers.com

Mamajojo---So sorry to hear about this incident. No fair just minding his own business and a new car to boot. Just keep in mind, he's safe. Keep looking forward.

Yes, that's what I told him. It could have been much worse. He could have been killed or badly hurt but thankfully he is ok. He just said that his back and neck are stiff. We will see how he is tomorrow. I guess he has been lucky up to this point though. He spends 3 hours commuting to work every day.

Unfortunatley, here we have what is called no fault insurance. It doesn't matter whose fault it is, your own insurance company pays for the damage and you have to pay for the deductable. It really stinks and makes me really angry since the guy that hit him obviously wasn't paying attention but there is nothing you can do about it.

The car is not in bad shape and we can still drive it. It is just a little dented in the back. Not anything horrible, just really disappointing since the car is only 6 weeks old. He will have the mechanics look at it when he goes to work tomorrow and make sure that there is no major damage. We do have a thing with our insurance that if the car is totaled within in the first 2 years of owning it ( since it was brand new) it will be replaced for free but it is not nearly that bad....thankfully

Wow - that seems like a terribly unjust insurance system?? That just makes me angry......I don't like things that are unfair!! Well, anyway, again, the thing that matters the most is that he's ok.......I'm sorry you're just having to deal with all this! :sad2:

Wow so many posts and so much catching up to do.

Mamjo-I am so glad your DH is okay. I hope the body shop can get your car back to new condition quickly. Cars can be repaired alot easier than people. Thank God he is okay. The no fault insurance law is very unfair to all. My job is dealing with accidents(law firm) and I see so many seriously injured. It makes me think everytime I get behind the wheel.

We are still waiting on our cruise docs..hopefully today! :goodvibes

Mamajojo so sorry to hear about the accident. Just glad everyone was ok, but I am sorry you have to go through the hassle of getting the car fixed 2 weeks before you leave. And the expense.

We got our cruise docs yesterday, we were quite surprised, because they had been originally scheduled for Sept 2.

We also got permission for our son to be out of school for 2 weeks. We are just busy right now, making sure his reading is up to par, so he can be tested early, since that is what was going to happen while he was gone. And I am waiting to here what homework we have to do, while gone. Probably reading for 20 minutes each day, spelling and handwriting.

We leave in 11 days or 10 if you do not count the day we leave.

I wrote my poem for the kids card to tell them about the cruise:

(We will be staying at CBR the night before the cruise in a Pirate Room.)

We have a big surprise to tell.
When you find out you will yell.

We wanted to let you know,
Where tomorrow we will go.

To guess your surprise you need to use you heads.
A good clue is look at the shape of the beds.

If you guessed boat then you were right.
We are going on a Disney Cruise for 7 nights.

There is a kids club that will be cool,
And a very nice swimming pool.

There will be Disney Characters too,
All on board waiting to meet you.

On the beach we will run,
We know you will have so much fun,

For Terry there is Pirate Party one night,
And a movie theater that is out of sight.

Ainsley there will be Princesses too,
And a Tea Party for Mommy and you.

So we hope your surprise you will enjoy.
And will join us in saying Ship Ahoy!

Now just to finish FE gifts and packing.

I love the poem, that is great, I am sure the kids will be thrilled!!! :thumbsup2

Jody, so glad he is okay!!:goodvibes Does your insurance cover any type of rental agreement if they were to repair it while you were gone? That really stinks about the deductable:mad:. I hope the next couple weeks are smoother sailing (haha) for you.;)
DM and I both got our docs yesterday:dance3:! I am finishing up the FE gifts. DM finished hers this past weekend over here at my house and left them for me to pack them up. Bit of a problem with the 12X12X12:upsidedow dimensions though for sending it ahead of time. I am now thinking of just bringing an extra big suitcase with them and paying the over the weight limit to make sure they get there and I don't have to worry about squeezing them into a small box. But you all are going to be surprised:woohoo:!!! Very pleased on how they all came together!
Take care everyone, no more accidents, sicknesses, job losses or anything else that is bad. :littleangel:
GOOD LUCK HOLLY & STEVEN and DAVE & IAN WITH THE WEDDINGS:love:!!!

Good news!!!! I was wrong.........never thought I would say that :rotfl:

I called the insurance company today. What happens is that there is a percentage placed on whose fault the accident was. If he was at 20% fault then we would pay 20%, if he was at 50% fault then we would pay 50% of our deductable. Tony was 0% at fault. We don't have to pay anything! Just the hassle of getting it fixed, which hopefully they can do before we leave.

Texasbloke, nice poem. When are you giving it to the kids?
Holly & Steven and Dave & Ian good luck and enjoy every minute of your weddings.

jody: Wonderful news!

Happy to hear people are getting their cruise docs. It sure keeps us on the edge waiting though.

I am ending a week in San Diego and anticipating the next two weeks getting ready when I get home. I still have finishing touches for the pirate costumes.

Hope all the wedding plans go smoothly. I am overwhelmed with just cruise arrangements. I can't imagine planning a wedding too. Good luck to all our couples on their special day.

So are these cruise documents really that big of a deal, other than our luggage tags? I looked through and it didn't appear that there was anything in there that I really needed or didn't have in another form.

well, mine are "lost", so don't feel unloved. I am the red-headed step-child, don't even know where my docs are.....

Hi all!
Just wanted to let you know that my sis-in-law just called. She said they all enjoyed their Western Caribbean Cruise so much, that they booked on board the Eastern Caribbean with St. Maarten that sails on March 20th. They loved all the ports of call and enjoyed the days at sea. they were so sad:sad: when they had to disembark, but they are right now having a blast:cheer2: in South Beach Miami. They leave Miami for Madrid tomorrow and I can't wait to see them on Thursday, since they are bringing all the navigators as well as lots of extra stuff from the 'Magic':).

We are still considering to book on board the 12 night Northern European Capitals if we get a good deal. :woohoo:

Just wanted to share this info with you folks.

Dennis

Jody!!! Congrats, and thank you for settling my mind!!! That injustice was really bugging me!!! I am so happy for the way that worked out!! Thank God! :cheer2:
