I love your hubby's goofy picture. My oldest is a goofy fan.
Things are going to be a bit somber around here for a while. My mother-in-law lost her battle w/ colon cancer this morning. My youngest is having a hard time w/ it. I'm very glad that she's no longer suffering. When we were in GA a few weeks ago to get the boys from my moms it was very hard to see her so much pain. Cancer is such an ugly disease. I'm glad to know that we will have good friends on our cruise to help us have a great time. I'm really glad we found these boards.

Oh NO! I am so sorry, you and your family will be in my prayers...I hope your youngest will be ok!

Cancer is so ugly and the suffering is so awful...I am glad your MIL is not suffering anymore to but I know it must be so hard for you and your family! (HUGS) to you!

Quick post! I survived! It was a LONG night (and weekend, and month!!!) but it was well worth it! Here's a pic of me in front of my 12 foot tall Empire State Building... there are a few other pics in my photobucket... I assume you all can get to those by clicking into the picture... ? I have no clue! If not, I'll add them to another post tomorrow! Night y'all! ;)

WOW, great job....I love your pics!! Looks wonderful!
I love your phrase about posting just to see your countdown!!!

Surprised to see that 9/26 cruisers are getting cabin assignments before our GTY cruisers??? Hope that means pixie dust is going to be spread far and wide!:thumbsup2

hope everyone is well tonight. We are getting Sunday dinner ready...nothing special...went to the school and meet both teachers. Hard to read teachers with all that commotion going on...one seemed very spacey...lots of air in the head (unorganized)...and the other seemed very strict. So you all have been warned :rolleyes1 I am very HOT natured!...VERY, extremely hot natured...it causes me to not be able to think...well it was so hot in the school this afternoon...the county did not cut on the AIR :scared1::eek: guess there is no local override for that HVAC...it was cooler outside than inside...it was a relief to walk out. Absolutely miserable :headache: not to mention all the people trying to get around...that makes the heat worse. Unfortunately I get a small case of turrets syndrome when I start to get overheated :guilty: and I was not happy! I just think the school system should do better at communicating!

SO here is my next question for those of you that have cruised before...please tell me the boat is cool in the places that have AC?
Yes I am a total polar bear!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone:)

My girls will go nuts because we weren't planning on this and just booked two days ago. We have been on five disney cruises (yes, I am terrible about setting up signatures) but haven't gone in about three years since I resigned as a school psychologist to stay home and home school my kids. $ has been tight, but I just got a job teaching for a charter school that is perfect for us. I will be teaching at their classical academy two days a week (6,7,8 grade history, science, art, and music) and supervising home schooling families the rest of the the days. So I will be able to still home school my own girls and bring in some income:) I already had a vacation to WDW planned for this time so my new school let me keep it as a condition of hiring. When I looked at cruises for the times I'd actually be off (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break) I was shocked at the prices:scared1: Wow. That's why we always loved cruising in Sept./Oct. Because of all of that we decided to turn our WDW trip into a cruise and my girls who have been hearing "maybe again some day" are going to freak out when I tell them we can actually go. We are planning on making an invitation for the cruise, putting it in a metal box, and having Dh go to the beach before us and bury it in the sand. Then we are going to have our girls take their metal detectors (they are so funny, they are kids ones I got through National Geographic and they have been "detecting" everything metal around the house for a week now) and go down to the beach for a family walk and "see if we can find anything" Hopefully DH doesn't bury the box too deep- we don't really know how well they work for real detecting through things.

I'd love to hook my girls up with some friends and we are excited to meet everyone as well.

LoriS - My 8 year old is Caitlin and she is turning 9 in November (born in 2000) She will be glad to have a friend:)

Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome we are so excited to make this happen:cloud9:
We homeschool too!!! There are several homeschool families on this cruise. :thumbsup2 Cassidy would love to chat with Caitlin, she was very excited I finally found someone her age. :)

Looks great, you should be very please with a job well done.

I'm hoping that both of my girls will be in the same club. Although Sammy is four, she will only be 10 days off turning 5. And like your ds, she is so shy. Very unlike her sister. My email is honnery4@bigpond.net.au if anyone wants to email me.
I don't think it will be a problem since it is so close to her birthday. 2 years ago, I moved my 3 year old up to be with her sister in the 5-7 group. My youngest, Courtney will be in there, she turns 6 on 9/20.

SO here is my next question for those of you that have cruised before...please tell me the boat is cool in the places that have AC?

I recall the inside area typically being cold. We usually bring sweaters to dinner and the shows. Plus in your room you control the temperature.

I am with you there my sister has already said that I will freeze them out in the cabin. :lmao:

I think I am all caught up, now I can do a quick update. I probably won't be on too much this week it will be a CRAZY week. We start co-ops tomorrow, they will be from 11:00 to around 3:00 or whenever we want to leave. Then I am bringing the girls to my parents house about an hour away. Will stay at Mom's for dinner then head home. I work 1:15 to 9:15 Tuesday and Wednesday, so that basically blows the whole day. One day before work I have some errands to run, specifically Webkinz hunting, and Kohl's trying to find a dress I saw. Thursday, I go back to Mom's to get the girls, and have to be back home for dance from 4:30 to 7:00. Friday is my Dad's 80th B-day, so the girls and I are taking him to Magic Kingdom, with lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. Once Chris gets home and cleaned up Friday night, (around 8:30) we are heading to the beach for the weekend. We are spending Friday and Saturday night on Maderia Beach, right near Clearwater with some friends. I think that covers it all, so until we get home from the beach next Sunday, it will be go, go, go for me. Then I only have 2 weekends left before the cruise!!!:scared1: So excited, but also so much left to do.:rolleyes1

I know what I forgot, my girls would love to get to know so fellow cruisers before getting to hang out in the Club/Lab. My email is lorias1002@gmail.com. Cassidy will be 9 and Courtney will be 6.

:thanks:Thanks for all the kind words & prayers. It means a great deal to me. You guys are great.:thumbsup2

LoriS I can't believe you work & homeschool. I tried to work at a salon down the road from us part-time & couldn't keep up w/ everything.
I don't understand how moms work full time & keep up w/things. I would lose my mind!!! That would of course be if I could find it again:rotfl2:

Trust me, there are times I don't know how I do it either. We very rarely do school 5 days a week, because I just don't have the time. We actually did school today knowing we won't have any time at all this week. Luckily I only work 2 days.

Wow! Sounds like you will be busy! The only good thing about a crazy week is that it makes the cruise come faster;) What type of coops are you doing? I love to get any ideas I can from other homeschoolers. Do your girls dance too? Mine take ballet, tap, jazz, and my oldest is starting lyrical. It will be great to get them together:) If you go to my website they are the first two in the slideshow gallery (okay, I'm a mom:) www.lifestylebycarolmarie.com You can go to the contact section (that's them too) and e-mail us if your girls want to chat before the cruise. Same with anyone else out there who has girls at or around my girls ages. They like to play with lots of kids, older, younger, boys, girls, it doesn't matter (they don't have the "boyfriend/girlfriend" thing going yet thank goodness) Well, we are off to the beach for our big unveiling! :cool1:

We are doing 3 classes in our co-ops. Story of the World, we have a few chapters of 1 left, and in October we will start SOTW 2. We are doing "Meet the Masters" it is all about artists and composers, and finally Science. We started Real Science 4 Kids Pre- Level 1 Chemistry last year that we are going to finish, and then Matter from Academy of Science For Kids. My girls take tap, ballet and jazz. They don't do the boyfriend thing either, just play with their friends, boy or girl.

Love your website, beautiful pictures. I am actually a Photopass Photographer at Disney too. Sure seems like we have a lot in common, I look forward to meeting you.

Can't wait to hear how the girls take the news.

I have a 9 yr. old dd as well, she takes dance classes (jazz, acrobatics and lyrical). She would love to "meet" some other kids before the cruise. She's so excited about the kids clubs, it would be wonderful if she already had some friends :)

Yeah, another dancer friend for Cassidy. She was a little upset that most of the girls were Courtney age. SHe is so happy to hear about girls her age. Feel free to have her email Cassidy at my email address. The only thing is this week, is so crazy it will probably be at least next Sunday before Cassidy can respond.

I wish I could have you take pics of my girls!! We're all the way across the country though!! (Atlanta, GA)

Can't wait to meet you!

Hey everyone! Thanks for the kind words about my decorations! I am quite proud of how it all turned out! I'm hoping to use them at a future date for an activity for our local young single adult program. It'll probably be quite a ways in the future because at this point I don't want to see them or have to move them for a long time! HAHAHA! Sounds like everyone has a busy week on tap! School's starting in full swing around here tomorrow, so we'll see what that entails for me... I'm still unsure if I'm doing the accompanist "thing" again this year for the high school or not, so it'll be an adventure! Here's hoping for room assignments tomorrow! BTW- does the music on the disneycruise site annoy anyone else? Drives me nuts that I can't turn it off! Could just be me though... HAHAHA! ;)

I wish I could tell you if the music annoyed me! My 16 year old son "fixed" my computer, and now the sound doesn't work at all!! I can't figure it out! :headache:

Is it physically broke? or is it possible he just muted it? This is on my computer, but you go... Start, All Programs, Accessories, Entertainment, Volume Control and look to see if all the slider bars are up or if any of the "mute" boxes are checked... Good luck with that! HTH! ;)
