Checking in for 1 month Roll Call.
The days are slipping by and I am still trying to get things together. I cannot find water shoes; I tried Sears, Walmart, and DSW(online and at sites). Our pirate costumes are almost complete. I was surprised how many styles are available in stores right now in the regular clothing lines.
Welcome to all the new posters! Maybe we will meet some fellow Pennsylvania cruisers at the airport.
Jody: Hope you are soon comfortable and enjoying perfect health.
We, too, have been dealing with lay off and uncertain work. I guess we are optimists taking this cruise.

Our first time on the Magic too. Checking in for role call. Can't wait for the week of sun. DoldestD has been in the hospital since Sunday with chest pain. She has an arryhthmia besides but the pain is new. Released today to go home on some new meds.

Magnets are in the finishing stages, FE's for kids are done. Adults still to go. Picking up some extra call in the OR so I might try for an upgrade. We're in a Cat 6 but would like to surprise DH with a Cat 3. Wonder how much that will run? If the 6 to 4 upgrades are being offered at $300 then it might not be much more. But then again there's concierge to consider.

I'm a licensed cosmetologist, but haven't worked in 2 years w/ homeschooling. I would love to help do hair if I have time. I really miss it. I don't have girls to practice up dos on.
I'm glad to know there are other talkers on board. How many of you can carry on multiple conversations at the same time? In our family we like to think of it as a gift to be able to have 5 conversations going on & participate in all of them. My side of the family can never talk enough.

Hello everyone. 1st time poster here. This will be our 2nd DCL cruise and our first Western. Timothy and my wife Melanie here from Pennsylvania with our sons Brandon (10) and Justin (8). We are also bringing along three first time cruisers from PA (DW, DH and DS12)

One month to go. I am glad that we have all these talkers on board I would hate to be the only one. lol. An I am glad someone named my affliction OCPD, Obsessive Cruise Planning Disorder, It make me feel so much better. we got a paid upgrade offer from a CAT 11 to a CAT 8 for $150! And we took it....

Our cabin number is NOW 5012.......
we are so excited...we really wanted a split bath and now we have a window! Please change us to 5012 on your FE list! Thanks.

Hi there Andrea...this is total (not person or day) we paid a TOTAL of $150 to go from a CAT 11 to a CAT 8 and we are super happy. I had inquired about a CAT 8 a month or so ago and was told it would be $1000 to upgrade at that time and I certainly did NOT have that much and was not spending that much! But I wanted to be on Deck 5 or higher and that was the only CAT that had rooms there. CAT 10 & 9 only had lower deck availablity!
so you can imagine my excitement when I heard from my TA .
here is pixie dust for all you that are looking to upgrade and for those of you that are waiting on a cabin number....

Just checking in for roll call. I am starting to stress now. I am so busy with work and kinder (I'm enrolment secretary there) plus everything else that I'm struggling to think how I'm going to get organised in time. We leave here on 11 September for a month so have 8days in the US before the cruise. Its so hard to limit the packing when we are away for a month. I'm sure it will all come together but can see myself up at 2am in the morning before we leave. Now if I could only get the kids (and dh) to keep the house clean, I could spend more time organising. I've almost finished making my FE. Its a bit rough but will do the job. I'm happy with it for my first attempt at sewing. I starting shopping for FE gifts a long time ago but will have to reassess that as the group has grown so much since them.

Just got finished signing dd up for dance classes...took away the money that I was going to apply to OBC today, but oh well..the things we do for the kids

We got our new luggage yesterday, it's still in the box, lol. I haven't had a spare minute to do anything! Time is whizzing by and I'm feeling totally unorganized, hopefully it will all come together in a month!

I have been updating the spreadsheet with cabin numbers as people get them to me.

I know some are leaving home 2 weeks before we cruise so I will plan to get the list and cabin #'s ONLY PM'd to all at that time. Since the adult and kids won't change and I will be able to PM just the "names" and cabin #'s - I will do that if that is ok with everyone to make it easier!

Cannot wait for the cruise!!! We booked ours in April '08 and to be soooo close is so hard to believe!

Wow! The board is hopping tonight! I've been out spending all my souvie money on things for the cruise. Whoever said a few days back that this bargain cruise is the cheap part, it's all the extras we think we need that are racking up the cost. . .dead on for sure! But that darn black pettie for the
DD4 was so stinkin' cute and it was on clearance tonight and matched the bow I just picked up (last ones I promised the DH)for pirate night


PAIGE!!! I am that excited for you! Remember, it has to be really big for me to put the dancing bananas up CAt11 to an 8 for only $150 sounds fabulous!

I am sure by the weekend or Monday all of us GTY's and cat 12 cruisers will see some assignments. I try not to go over there and look but it is hard!
