Lori S-Your DDs are cutiepies! The youngest looks like Cinderella with the ribbon/choker.

Kileybeth-I am enjoying your family pics. What would a trip be w/o a stop @ Wallyworld lol. I just meant if y'all were short on room hauling stuff from CIS to port we might have some extra space. :)

Totally OFF TOPIC but just needed to vent and seek advice.

I am soooo bummed. Target had a Sony A200K DSLR camera on clearance that I wanted for our DS17's upcoming birthday. He is very into photography but we are very into keeping our budget so it was a win-win situation. They camera was on clearance for an unbelivable $349 dollars (lense included) Now I know next to nothing about cameras/photography but I knew a deal when I saw it. I "negotiated" with the employee, very nice kid actually to hold it for 24 hours for me (guess they are not suppose to hold clearance stuff) so I could bring my son back to take a look at it and so I could ask him if it was a good deal/camera whatever. My first major mistake. :scared: Note to self: do not trust employees who could care less if an item is gone when you return. ugh. I was sick. BUT we live exactly half way between nowhere :sad2: and right between everywhere :woohoo: so I convinced my DH and son (who had had no dinner) to hightail it 70 miles, past our house we had just driven 35 plus miles away from an additional 35 miles to the other Target b/c I called and they said they had one! This happened to be a friday night in the summer on a heavily trafficed beach route:upsidedow It was such a good deal though. . .

Got to the other Target and the camera is right there on display! We start to examine it and ask for the lense which I assume is under the counter in a box. "Oh no, this camera does not come with a lense" Excuse me? The K in it's model number indicates it most certainly does and I just saw it less then 48 hours ago at this other Target with a lense attached? No, no, you ar wrong, no lense. Oh well, could you just check under the counter or in the back please? sure, sure I can do that. And you do know that since we just have the floor model left it is an addtional 30% off that price? Well, now we are getting somewhere.

30 full minutes later and two hungry men later, the floor clerk says, sorry no lense, no box, no deal. I'll call my manager and see if she can make a deal for you. The manager decides she will look herself. Nope, nothing in the back and she is certain her store never carried this camera with a lense no matter what another Target did. Okay, Can we just make a deal here? We will take the camera w/o the lense. Give me a price. Oh no, you can't have it. I can return it and get a full credit for it? Otherwise you pay the $349 price? What about the 30% off. Oh, well I can't give you that tonight. I then ask for her manager. She gets someone another 20 minutes later and obviously has called in back up for her story. (aka:outright lie)

UGH!!!! so frustrated. The clerk is really sorry he drug us down, is trying to be nice, is willing to call other Targets for me but the manager tells him, no, they have to call on their own!

We leave camera-less to find most restaurants closed by now, eat at Pizza Hut with terrible service, and suck it up. DS has decided all he wants for his birthday is a nice camera, nothing else.

We then decide to call on our own. No one has one left. They are a great deal you know. SHUT UP ALREADY. We then travel to WashDC for a couple of days and proceed to stop at not one, not two but three Targets we spot along the way, no camera.

Can anyone just tell me I did not just lose my only chance at an affordable DSLR camera? he so wanted one. He has a little digital thing and he has taken some awesome pics with it but he is ready to move on. I am sooo cueless. Every pic I have posted on this thread? Has been taken with my Blackberry phone! I don't even own a camera. I have checked craigslist for something used. Not ebay, little leary about that yet. he wants to feel/ touch/play with it before we buy it. Everything new is $450 to $500 minimum and up. To far out of my reach right now.

Anyway, thanks for listening. I really wanted a camera in his hands before we sail as I think it will make a huge difference in his enjoymetn level of the cruise.

Lori, Your girls are beautiful!

Sinderelly, Thanks for offering, we are good. Once we are through the traveling it's all good! I probably will pick up some bottle water so am taking a rolling suitcase for that to haul on with us. Not for onboard, but to take off for ports of call. Keeping six hydrated in the heat is a budget buster for sure. I'd rather spend my $$$ on port specific snacks/food/souvies then Canned soda and water.

I could just eat that little Sawyer right up! What a doll!

In just 8 weeks I will be sleeping at the CIS across from the Port and waking up to a beautiful sight!!

Just 8 more weeks

Now that is just crazy! :cool1: I can't watch her sail tomorrow though as we will be out of town. boo hoo. It's fun to watch all the live port cams.

i know they are huge, sorry, but i wanted you to be able to see detail :) we just got our engagement photos back so i will hopefully be posting some of those soon :)

Sinderelly, thank you. Sawyer is very cute! Babies that age are my favorite to photograph, you can do so many amazing shots with them and they laugh at almost anything! It's funny, I feel like I always bring work with me, even on vacation:lmao: Good thing I love my job:thumbsup2

Lori, your girls are very pretty and it looks like Courtney will be in the same club with my two.

Kileybeth, I wish I could help you but I'm sure that driving to Canada would be a little bit out of the way:rotfl: We have some independent shops here that have some slightly used (with warranty) or new camera equipment and they are willing to price match or in general want to win your business so will drop prices if you ask. I am sure you probably have the same type of thing there. Try looking in the yellow pages under photography supplies or sometimes photo finishing. Call around and explain that you have a teenage DS that is very into photography and that you are looking for a basic DSLR and let them know that you had found one in a different store. Sometimes smaller businesses are more willing to help because they want you to keep coming back and there is no better way to do that then through customer service! If the first place can't help you then ask them if they have someone that can. They might also give your DS some great photography tips

Bracelets look great. Can't wait to slip them on.

Thank you Kileybeth and Mamjo! Sawyer is entered in a baby contest this Thursday! :rotfl:

Holly-The bracelets look great. I can't wait to get ours and can't wait to see you engagement pics.

Lori - Thank you! Your girls are beautiful, too!! Thanks for the info on the Oceaneers club! :thumbsup2

Sinderelly - Thank you! Your precious Sawyer is ADORABLE!! So sweet! ::yes::

Kileybeth - I am so sorry for all that frustration! The only thing I have is a decent digital camera from Wally World.....nothing super special - maybe $100 or so, so I know nothing about cameras either, really. :confused3
I love the picture of your older son and your girls! How precious!! My older son just bugs my little ones (he's 16, though!), but I think secretly they love it!
I was thinking the same thing about the going back and forth for my 4 year old.....looks like some fun stuff for that age, but I think they probably won't allow that.....I'll just be happy if they agree to let her in with big sis!

Holly - Thank you for the pics of the bracelets! They look great!

I can't believe how soon we're going!!! 8 weeks, right?? :hourglass

Can't wait to meet everyone!!!

Wow, I really had some catching up to do. Everyones pics are wonderful and the children are all adorable. At 30 and been married almost 12 years, we haven't been able to have any (children) yet, maybe some day when we least expect it.
Holly, love the bracelets, thanks so much for doing this for us! They turned out beautiful!
We've been real busy here lately, I have luggage but I have been trying to find a new set, I always hate trying to find luggage at the terminal, they all look the same and once I tied ribbons around ours but it fell off I guess because after looking and looking we found it, without the ribbon. DH wants of course samsonite but we just can't pay that much right now when theres nothing wrong with the ones we have, just wish they were red or pink...lol, DH would kill me if I bought hot pink luggage... but hey I'd find it easy.
Well gotta run for now.
Tammy

LOVE LOVE the bracelets!!! My DS said, "Cool - when do we get them!". MY DD is spending the night at a friend/neighbor's but I know she will be super excited tomorrow, too! Thanks so much, Holly!

:yay::woohoo:Cannot believe in just 8 more weeks we will be boarding the Magic! Actually 8 weeks from now, we will be in the Promenade Lounge enjoying some DOTD:rotfl:

Sorry - trying to save some time from having to go back through MANY pages of posts...Just wanted to touch base to see who volunteered to have their cabin be the location for any cabin change notes. So sorry that I have not noted this on the FE List and wanted to add it ASAP. Also, I think that someone mentioned posting the map for the FE Exchange on their cabin door but just wanted to warn against this! Not at all trying to step on toes or anything like that...I know it's hard to think about but there are some that will steal from the FE's (we actually had our entire FE and gifts that were in it - stolen on our cruise on the Wonder last September) so we don't want to show anything that post ALL of the actual locations of where the gifts will be distributed :thumbsup2

Paige's DH is working on a map for us but that should be PM'd or emailed or posted to the Yahoo group (can someone give me the link to this as well - THANKS!) so that we will all have it and not make it "public" so we can try our best to "protect" the fun :yay:

8 MORE WEEKS TO GO!!!!
