Thanks Holly for coordinating and ordering the bracelets! Can't believe that September is coming so fast.. :cloud9:
Thanks again!:dance3:

And :welcome: to the newcomers!! I lurk everyday, but, don't have the chance to sit and type too often! If I did, I would never get anything done.

3 days to roll call!!:yay:

Our county starts school on August 3rd so we have a little over 2 weeks left for our summer:sad2: Our kids get out at the end of May and we also have alot of break during the school year (like this one in Septemeber so we can cruise :thumbsup2).

Wow! I didn't realize that the school year would be different:confused3
( yes, I know...very sad on my part). What is the break for in September that your kids get?

Our kids will be back in school for a couple of days and then we will be leaving. Our kids always start back the day after labour day. They will be missing a couple of weeks of school but we did this last year as well and they just did their catch up work on the drive down (almost 24 hours) and then on the drive back. You can get a lot of work done in 48 hours when you are buckled into a booster seat!:rotfl: I have read some horror stories on the DIS about people trying to take their kids out of school and getting in trouble:scared1: Thankfully our school board does not have a problem with it. I am not sure if it is a provincial thing or our specific school board ( our kids go to a French first language school so they are in a different board) but when I called the principal at the end of the school year, he said that of course the kids could go and that it is just as educational as being in a classroom. He also said that time spent with family was irreplaceable.:thumbsup2

Holly...thanks again. I can't wait to see you at port, covered in lime green braceletes!!!!:rotfl: I will be the one with the very cute but very loud children

:wave2: Welcome to all of the new people.

I am almost ready for our cruise. I have all of the FE gifts almost done. I have purchased all of our formal and semi formal clothes. I have bought the material ( but still have to make) our FE. I have purchased all of our water shoes ( I just need to get a new top for my bathing suit). I am going out today to buy the pillowcases to be signed at GS. It is getting close!:woohoo:

Our girls go back August 4 and finish up May 28.

We have officially closed our FE, but I'm sure there are some other newcomers out there that might want to start another one... We closed it with 35 cabins! Welcome aboard! ;)

Yes, I think I will see how many Newbies would be interested in starting another FE list.

So, to all the Newcomers out there who recently joined this cruise, please let me know if you would be interested in participating in a Fish Extender exchange. If we have enough people interested I will start a new list! Please post or send me a PM.

Thanks Everyone! :wave2:

boy v. girl list and names.....can I get directed to where the FE list is that says this?

Am thinking of doing a non-ship excursion in Cozumel...the Nomi one that was posted about.....is anyone else thinking of doing that one. 100 people on private beach/open bar and they have parasailing option...

Karen

WOW welcome newcomers!! :)
Boy have we hit a bump in the road....money $ has gotten so tight and it really makes me feel guilty about cruising BUT we would lose our deposit now. DH is insistant that we still cruise and then really budget strictly after...so I guess we are still cruising. On of my clients has not been able to sell their current home so they backed out on their contract on their new home! It really stinks for everyone! It costs me money to go to work :sad1:??? I am sure there are many others in the same situation so I am sorry to vent. It is just so nerve racking:headache:
I really just want to be able to enjoy it and not worry!!:sad2: I am trying to keep an open mind!:guilty:
Sorry about being slack with the Yahoo group! When I started it I was not working and between actually working and the stress of it I get consumed!
I will try to update it soon!;) I also need to get on my FE gifts!
I have started a cruise box (long ago) and even have a shelf in our playroom collecting items.
Holly the bracelets are so great. Thanks a million!
BTW....If anyone wants to/has time to control the Yahoo group I am happy to give it over to someone b/c I do feel like things will get worse before they get better.
My kids go back to school Aug 25th!
Well I am sending pixie dust to you all in hopes that all your plans are going smooth!!

Is everyone getting excited now that we have just a little over 2 months to wait? I am way beyond excited! I want a hug from Mickey! ::MickeyMo

Welcome Ken and to any other newcomers. You are sailing with a great bunch!

Holly thank you for ordering our bracelets. I can't wait to see a pic.

Paige-I'm sending you some pixie dust for a sale with a big commision. Heck just come on over and sell our house. I think the market is even slower this month. We had a few lookers and this month nothing!

I am ready to to get into super planning mode. We finished our FE gifts and found out they take up a very large suitcase. I am ready to finish the details and start packing! :mickeyjum

Glad to hear that you made it through the birthday party. They can be crazy!!

Your kids start school on the 17th of August? When do they finish? My kids don't start school until the 8th of September and they finish near the end of June.

Our last day of school this past year was June 1st, which is the latest they've ever gotten out. We don't have a fall break, I'm just pulling her out for the cruise, lol. She goes to a private school and a lot of the teachers are Disney fans and DVC owners, so I don't get too much flack about it!
I started a new thread with this question, but nobody has answered so I thought I would ask here as well. I will be cruising with 2 dd's, one is 9, the other (as you know, lol) just turned 2. I know that the 9 yr. old will have the bunk that pulls out of the ceiling, but what about the little one? Do they have cribs or bed rails or something for her?

Yes they have rails available for the fold out and pull down beds. Just be sure to ask your room attendant as soon as see them (or just leave a note) and they will have it ready each night for you. You especially want them for the pull down bed, cause if teh ship gets to rocking in the middle of the night, you don't want anyone falling out of bed... ;) I've even heard tales of adults falling out of bed due to ship motion :rotfl2:

Thanks Holly for ordering the bracelets that is a great price!

My kids will love them. And it will be a great keepsake of the cruise.

Paige I hope you sell a house real soon.

We just closed on the house we are buying yesterday, so I am headed over to start the cleaning and painting process.

Wishing everyone a great day!

Wow! I didn't realize that the school year would be different:confused3
( yes, I know...very sad on my part). What is the break for in September that your kids get?

In our county - we are on an "extended year" program so we have a break every 6 weeks or so. It's really a great schedule and the kids, teachers and most parents love it! The September Break is our "Fall" Break and then we have the week of Thanksgiving off, 2 1/2 weeks around the Christmas/New Year holidays, a week in February and a week in April and then get out at the end of May. So, they have about 9 weeks off for summer. My kids will never admit it, but they are ready to go back. They miss their friends and get a little bored some days ;)

I never noticed before you live in GA, I assumed with the name Yonkrs Girl, you were a New Yorker. LOL

Wow! That is different then our kids. They go back after labour day in September, then get two weeks off at Christmas, about a week at Easter, two weeks for March break plus all of their PD days etc. and the they are done arond the 25th or 26th of June.

I know what you mean about the kids wanting to see their friends.....our kids are missing us. They spend the summer with our parents who live 2 hour away ( We had to move a few years ago for DH job) and they come home on the weekends. The nice thing is that they are kept so busy that they enjoy just relaxing when they come home. This summer alone my son is playing for 2 soccer teams plus he went to soccer camp, my DD plays soccer as well and went to drama/dance camp for a week, plus she takes cooking classes, they both take swimming lessons daily ( plus my Mom also has a pool and my in-laws live beside a lake so even if they did not have swimming lessons they would be swimming every day). They also went to the Great wolf lodge. They are going camping with my nephews (who are both the same ages as my DD and my DS) in my Mom's motor home and have gone to numerous water parks. They have had sleep over's at my nephews house (they live 2 blocks away from my Mom) and gone to movies, parks etc. After the summer they are worn out and ready to be home and go back to school........ except this year:rotfl:

thanks sinderelly and texasbloke! I needed that! The RE market really stinks but I am holding on...so hard to work everyday and feel like you are "paying" to work instead of getting paid:scared:. Kathy I hope your home sells to....here is lots of pixie dust that the people that are meant to buy it show up SOON:wizard:! I may have to find a salaried position after the trip!
I am excited about the trip still but the money stuff also gives me mixed feeling:sick:!
I am so excited about the bracelets! My kids will LOVE them to and you are right a great memory keeper!
WOW a little more than 2 months! :cheer2:
Well back to work....:rotfl2:

awww it is so nice to have all of you sending me well wishes! It really made my day! thanks so much! I know God has a plan!
my dd starts K this year! I am so not ready for her to be gone too! So scary! My ds starts 2nd grade but he is now an old pro at the routine!

Yonkrs Girl we have a very similar schedule. We're in Houston County which is just below Macon.

I am so happy we finally told the girls tonight that we are going on the cruise!!! They were thrilled. They actually each got an envelope in the mail with a note and t-shirt from Mickey saying he can't wait to see them at the sail away party for their birthday cruise. Now I can put them to work helping me with door magnets, fish extenders and gifts.
