9/19/09 Western Magic

Sounds like everyone is kickin' it in high gear now with this cruise coming up fast!

I picked up my DS6 tux shirt from a friend last night (she had one from her son singing at the Grand Opera House over Christmas) and it was a perfect fit! The cumberbund is Mickey Red! How cute is that? He will be his sisters Prince Chraming for sure. Her dress is from David's Bridal, think floor length white flower girl with a black beaded cumberbund or whatever you call it for girls! With the tropical heat, we are forgoing the jacket for DS6. He will still look smart I think. Total cost for dress and accesories, tux shirt and pants and accesories (drum roll please) $27 total. I love a great deal! Good thing b/c I also love quality!

Still working on those two teenagers, pray they don't show up in jeans on formal night:eek:

The DH is finally starting to get a tinsy bit excited about vacation, aka "The Cruise". Thank goodness! Poor man, he's gotta keep us afloat all year long, no wonder floating with Mickey is taxing his reserves. :rotfl:

Lots of company this month and activities on the calendar straight thru begining of August. Summer has arrived and it is packed.

Hoping for a few good summer sales at end of season to pick up few things still on our list.

Does anyone know of any good "cruise reads"? I am lost without a book or two always going. I have been reading Robert Ludlam of late. Love that kind of stuff. I've read so much though I need a new author or two. What will you all be reading up on Deck 4?

I am reading My Sisters Keeper right now and as everyone has told me it is much better then the movie... Its an easy read but might be a little bit of a downer for a cruise. How about Janet Evanovich she is a good guilty pleasure, at least her numbers series... let me know if you are interested, my BFF is in North Wilmington and has the whole series I am sure she would let ya take a few... She is also cruising with us so she can bring some of them along if ya want. Then of course there is the Twilight series but I think the whole family might toss me over if I bring even one of those books on board!

I am ordering bracelets on the morning of 7/15, if there are any last minute changes or requets please let me know asap!!!

Here is the list as I have it now, we are up to 110, I am considering ordering 120 and having 10 extra in case anyone decides to buy one last minute or loses one while on the cruise...thoughts? Just as a reminder, bracelets will be around $1.50 a piece (I will know exact cost once I order).

Thanks guys, sorry I haven't been posting much...between wedding planning, looking for jobs for my fiance, crazyness at work, working out so I can fit into my wedding dress and trying to keep my sanity I have been a bit busy! I miss you alll and can't wait to officially meet you :)

Holly

Hey Holly! I tried to PM you, but I'm such a newbie I'm not allowed yet! Haha!

Could you add myself and DH for bracelets? I'd like to get one extra for my mom (fellow DISer Keli) who'd love one I'm sure. So can you put me down for 3? Also, do we pay you on the boat or should I send you payment now?

THANKS!

Of course :) The bracelets can be paid for when picked up at one of the three designated meeting times. Or, if you cannot make those you can arrange to meet me at my cabin (7596) at a specific time.

Holly

Disneymoon 0909, please put us down for 2 bracelets. Thanks for doing all of this.

Got several things accomplished this week!:cool1:

Finally found a evening dress that would match my daugther's Princess Ariel's ballgown. (Yes we are all dressing around what my DD princess: wears on formal night.) Started working on our room door magnets. And have at least decided what we wil do for FE gifts. And ordered my FE, too!:woohoo:

Now all that is left is find a Pirate outfit for me. Still need to order vest and ties for the guys. And rent shoes for DH, it will be easier than packing them.

And trying to do all of this without the kids finding out.

Next 2 weeks I will be focusing on moving. We close on our house on Wed, and will be busy replacing carpet, painting, cleaning and moving in it. Then it will be back to focusing on getting ready for school to start and WDW!

Wishing everyone a great weekend!:flower3:

:dance3::dance3:

can someone please officially tell me when the three meeting times are? I know something is planned in terminal, then promenade, then I heard something about icecream machine meet-up....what are the official times?

are we going to be known by bracelets (which means post-terminal?) or the pirate mickey or by green dis-mouseheads from Disney paint store) or what?

Visions of trying to find my cruisecritic.com folks up on the Solstice deck, walking up to groups of people "are you cruise connections? No? Well, nice to meet you!!" and getting lots of quizzical looks as I roamed from group to group......

I believe the time for the ice cream machine meet ins 3:00, :confused3 .

As for finding people, I know I keep a lime green Mickey from Home Depot in my lanyard, and I will wear my bracelet during the day.

Disneymoon0909 has agreed to WEAR:rotfl: all of our bracelets into the terminal on a string!!! You can let your imagination roam here folks! :rotfl2: We really like you already Holly!

We figure she will be easy to spot with 100plus lime green braclets on her person! So not really an "official meet" then, just a "meet Holly " and pay this women back with much praise and dollars for all her hard work and carrying the cost until we cruise. She will have a firm price per braclet once she orders next week. Stay tuned. Lots of us on this thread plan on getting to the port when the parking lot opens (between 9:30-10am)and checking in plus whatever else we need to do and then it is just finding Holly, I'm guessing 10:30-11am ish?

Next meeting place is up on deck 9 near the self service ice cream machine around 3pm. It will be a good time for a break after seeing staterooms and roaming around a bit and yet still a half hour or so before we need to go to lifeboat stations. Wear your bracelets or look for others who have them. I think my kids will be covered in ice cream so we should be easy to find:rotfl:

The Official Dismeet for our group is in the Promanade Lounge (Deck 3) anywhere from 8pm -9:30 PM or so. Either after early dinner or before late dinner. Come when you can, leave when you must.

Anyone else have more accurate info? Yonkr's-girl has done this before so she is the one in the know for exactly how this all might play out or work! I think the main thing is to just put faces with Disnames and real names so we can spot each other through the week to say hi or what have you.

I love this! My DD4 has a couple dresses that I have thought about doing that with and I just bought my DH a shirt and tie that match her Ariel gown! It's such an awesome color kwim? As for me? who knows what I will end up wearing :sad2:

Welcome Ashaloo! I just snuck over and was looking at your gorgeous wedding pics! Congratulations! and Kudos to your Mom, I love that you guys did so much yourself. Everything was beautiful! Your wedding colors stunning.

:rotfl2: My DD14 wanted to read the Twilight series but I was unsure as to whether or not she was ready to read them. so I had to read them first! I think it took all of two weeks or less to read them all! I was impressed with how "clean" they kept the stories knowing lots of younger teens woudl be reading them. We still have not seen the movie. Movies just are never as good as the books!

I'll have to look into the Janet Evonovich books. Is your DE friend on this thread with us? :confused3 I didn't think I saw any other Delawareans?

Anywho, I spend more of my week in NWilm than anywhere else it seems. My teens friends and mine are all up that way. This week it was M,W,TH and Tonight:sad2:. We worship up that way on Sundays too.

I am looking for paperbacks so I can leave them behind instead of filling my luggage both ways so better not borrow anything. I heard there are often books in Cove Cafe (? is that what it is called) to be borrowed or loaned or something.

Rosemary, We are sailing GTY cat 12 as well (sigh) but at least we are on the boat! :rotfl: I love your countdown "thingy" It is cool that it is counting down in days!!!

Thanks! I have a big chart at home counting the days but it is a few days ahead because my son seems to think if he marks extra days off it will come sooner. :rotfl2:

The wait is killing me, i work in bayonne and have to pass the cruise port every morning. it kills me when a ship is in port getting ready to sail. i get sooo jealous. But we are really keeping our fingers crossed for an upgrade but if it doesn't happen we will just be glad to be on the ship.:yay:

Hey everyone, wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. Welcome to the newbies. We are also one of the cat 12 gty staterooms, hopeing for a cat 9, if we don't get it I may have to upgrade, not sure if I could stand not having a window, have been on 6 cruises and had only 1 window, 3 verandas and the rest suites, hump jr suite on rccl, so we've never has an inside. I booked the cat 12 because I didn't think we'd be able to afford anything better with the layoffs at dh's work and all. You know for what we paid on disney for a cat 12 we could have a had a veranda on lido deck with military discount on carnival, but having been on only one carnival cruise I believe you get what you pay for and wouldn't sail them again besides our first cruise was disney and we loved it. I just wish they'd do the past military discount like carnival does.
I bet those getting married our busy with wedding plans, I wish those all the best and hope everything goes well.
Has anyone booked rum point for GC, we've been there once with nativeway and loved it, but someone was saying with the disney excursion you are herded like cattle and that its a long time to get there, I have it booked with disney but was wondering about that. Would have loved to do rays, reefs and rumpoint with nativeway again, but I can't swim and during the snorkel, I stayed on the rocking boat and got terribly seasick.
Well, guess I'll run for now. Everyone take care.
Tammy

Aw, Thanks KB!! The wedding was definitely DIY ALLLLLL the way. I've got several bridesmaids (one in particular) that can attest to it! LOL! But I will say that I was absolutely amazed with the outcome. I don't think it could've been any better. Thanks for the compliments!!

Ok so I finally found the form for doing OBC. Several relatives had asked if they could post amounts to our account for my birthday. This is the form I found today. The credit part is in the bottom right of the page.

http://adisneycruise.disney.go.com/...ia/myCruise/amenitiesGifts/GiftsOrderForm.pdf

Okay can I just say how completely envious I am of you! :rotfl: Perhaps they would like to adopt me? Or just one or two of my kiddos! :rotfl:

No, I think it is awesome that they "get it" and want to give you such a great gift. Thanks for posting the form.

according to my TA (DU) my $500 credit has been applied. just waiting for it to appear on my cc statement..apparently I am not getting it as OBC which is probably a good thing.. not sure even I can drink that much in a week heheheheh especially since I already have added OBC since paying the sucker off....

Hi All

Just wanted say welcome to all the new comers as I haven't posted in a while. Can't wait to see you all on the ship!!!

We have started buying things for our FE gifts but can't decide what else to add, how much is everyone spending or are people making things? We don't want to look mean :confused3

Off to Italy with work this week, so catch up soon and it will be a week closer

This gnarly bachelor from Kissimmee booked his first Disney cruise yesterday and wishes to check in today.

(I tired to add karma to our cruise by posting a picture of the Magic I took from the Carnival Glory two years ago, but it has been censored until I have posted ten times)
