This was our 4th cruise. We had been on a 3, 4 and 7 (Western) Disney Cruise before. Our last one was the 7 day before this one. We decided to go on the 3 day cruise this time so we could spend time at WDW before our cruise.
I must say that even though it was our 4th cruise and we knew our way around, knew what we wanted to do, knew what to expect, the three day was not enough. It was fun, but nothing like our 7 day cruise last year (next year we are back on a 7 day).
Our room was wonderful. In the past we have always been in the Cat. 11 inside room. They are very nice rooms; but this time we had the opportunity to stay in a secret porthole room. We really liked the window very much. I just don't see us using a verandah much, but it is nice to have natural light.
Our first night was rough seas (results from the hurricane Isabel that was north of us). I did have some Dramamine, but not enough for all of us, so everyone who took it was OK (I didn't take any, so I ended up skipping dinner). On all 4 cruises that I have been on, this was the most movement we had ever experienced. After the first night, all was well though.
Nassau day is a day that we stayed onboard. We thought the pools would not be very crowded because of people leaving the ship, but apparently others had the same idea because the pool was still crowded. We had fun just staying on board. There was plenty for everyone to do that day.
Castaway Cay was beautiful as usual. We have been SO lucky. On 4 cruises we have had 4 beautiful days at CC. This was the first time my girls did the Kids Programs at CC (before we always hung out as a family). They only went to 1 hour of programming, but it was one of the highlights of their trip. They are still talking about the whale dig!
The new show the Golden Mickeys was wonderful. I was thrilled to see they have Stitch onboard now. One of my DD was so excited to get her picture taken with Stitch! Dreams is still my favorite (I almost cry when Tinkerbell lights up the ship and the the lights in the theater come on too).
All in all, we had a wonderful time. This was the 4th time our daughters celebrated a birthday on the ship. We seemed to have started a tradition here, and have their birthday next year already booked (for a 7 day). They turned 10 on the ship and I always buy a photo album for our pictures after each trip. When I looked back at our first cruise and look at them now, OH! How they have grown up! They were 6 when we boarded the first time (turned 7 on the cruise), and have celebrated birthdays number 7, 8, 9 and 10 on board. They are twins and our only children, so it works for us.
Anyway, it was a great trip. Can't wait to go again!
