9/16/07 4 nights on the Wonder - Anyone else there yet

We had a blast!

Us too! Thanks to all who left messages on our door down on deck 2. we loved seeing the notes on our write on board! We had so much fun. Even the 16 year old, who I was most concerned about. I can't wait to go back. We decided against our May cruise as my son is singing in Hawaii in March, my brother isgetting married in Tuscon in March and my brother in law is getting married in June. We will be busy. But... we booked the 12/27/08 Magic and didn't tell the kids. Initially I booked it hoping to switch to spring break 09 but now not sure and might keep the new years eve for the decorations and such.

We had an awesome time too. Redmom, my daughter very much enjoyed hanging out with your son on the trip. Sorry we did not get a chance to meet although I did sign your door. Darlene, it was nice to sit next to you at the graduation too.

We had a fantabulastic great time again.... Anyone who has cruised before experience the "rockin" of the ship on the last night? When we sailed 4-29-07-5-03-07 it was pretty smooth all the days, just wondering if its usaully "rockin" at that time of the year?? :confused3

There were some storms in the area that I think caused it. We were in the goofy pool that night and there were 2 foot waves.

One of my girls started throwing up every hour 11pm. She didn't stop until 3am. We must have changed the sheets 3 times that last night.

That aside, we had a great time. I think I can still feel the boat rocking. :-)

candlemaker, we hit the World of Disney store before our plane the next day and I so felt like I was still rocking, even for a day or so after we got home. I thought I was crazy until my dh said the same thing.

BeachBratt, I agree it was the storms but I think it is usually a bit rockier on the first night out and the first night back, something about crossing the straits of Florida.

Dsnygrl, I saw your siggy along with a few others, Thanks! Which son was your dd playing with, and how did you know he was mine??

redmom, it was your 16 year old. They were hanging around together most every night. He came to our door with her one day and said his mom decorated thier doors too and she also had a green mickey on it but he did not know what it meant. I asked her where his room was and she said it was down the hall from us, we were the first room by the elevator misship, and that you had 2 rooms. I knew your cabins were also on our floor, inside and put it together. I told my daughter all about what I knew from the boards and she was amazed I knew so much about you guys. I met him on several occasions and he was very friendly and polite to both myself and my 6 year old. She also thought he was really cute and can sing really well, something about singing for the Queen too.

It took me 2 days to get my land legs back, everything felt like it was moving.

Redmom I was down the hall from you the entire time. I think I was down the hall from everyone. Our door had the Mickey ears and the different mickey heads on it. I wish we had time to have a meet and even exchange little gifts.

Can't wait till we go back next time.

I can't believe how close we all were but didn't meet up. We so should have. but I didn't even do all the things I wanted to. We did make it to the adult pool (third cruise and first time) and to a show, Hercules (again third cruise and first show). I know we need to see Disney Dreams but we were too busy.

Dsnygrl, I just talked to Christian and he knew exactly who I was talking about when I said something about your daughter and your door etc...He is a singer, don't know where he got that because I can't carry a tune in a Longaberger basket! :rotfl: But he is in Iowa Youth Choir, Acapella Choir, Show Choir and Valley Singers (which is our highschools highest choir). He went to England, Scotland and Wales this summer to sing. Must be rough-eh?!

It is funny how you can learn so much about people from the boards. My hubbie doesn't quite get it though. We have met up with other Tim McGraw addicts when we went to Vegas for a concert and he thought we were crazy for meeting up with people we met on the internet until he had a blast, when he forgot. But he quickly remembers. But he is computer illiterate so I think he is just jealous.

Two Owls I think I remember yours too.

Hey, who's child was Brandon, celebrating a birthday on 9/19. That was my birthday too! I spent it in the couples villa on the spa and then had dinner with the family and dessert at Palo. It was more than I could ever have asked for. The spa villa was a splurge but oh so worth every penny (ok, dollar!)

I also remember SAluvsMickey's door I walked by that one frequently!

Can't wait to go again!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Brandon birthday door was ours :yay: . He had a great time, happy belated birthday to you redmom.:flower3: On our last Disney cruise I did the cabanas on Castaway Cay. It was December 30 and cold. I was freezing but since I had paid for the view, I had the girl leave the window open. She thought I was crazy but it was soooo cool, the temperature and the view. I know we were just a few doors away from another diser. I think it was sals. We even had thier luggage delived to our door by mistake and I took it down there. I was pacing the halls for hours because my luggage was missing until after 530 when they finally found it. So I was checking out all the doors in the hall. I did meet 2 angels in heaven at the kids graduation and then redmoms son but that was all. There were several kids from my daughters school on the ship since we were on Fall break here and lots more from our county. When I got back to our hammock on Castawy Cay, my son ran to the water and started playing with a little boy. I kept looking at him and then saw his mother and realized they lived in our neighborhood, talk about small world.

Dsnygrl2003, "hi", did you have a good rest of your cruise?

I agree about the rocking, OMG, I was soooo ill. I think it was due to the bad storms off the coast of Florida. But thanks to Capt. John I think we avoided the worst of it. I had to send the little bro down to Guest Services to get me some meds and I normally don't need them.

So when are we going again? =o)

Darlene, we had a great rest of our cruise, thanks. We went to MNSSHP on Friday night and I was still rocking from the boat. We went on Space Mountain and that combine with the moment I was still feeling almost did me in but that was awesome too (MNSSHP that is).

How awesome, Brandon and I share a birthday! I know what you mean about December, the first cruise we did was 12/18 or something and it was very cool. I swore if I did a winter cruise again it would have to be in the carribean not just the bahamas. I need warmth. I even thought the water at cc was cold just this last time. We didn't make it to the club/lab graduation because our villa time ran over, way over. But whos to complain! The kids were ok with it. Gosh they love the clubs. Dsnygrl, what a small world, someone in your neighborhood. That is unreal. I am glad you had a great MNSSHP, but a bit jealous as we were rained out on the 14th. We stayed until the very end though.

2angels, we are booked for the Magic on 12/28/08 but may switch that to spring break 09. God knows I can't afford another soon, my brother is getting married in Tuscon this coming up spring break and two of my kids are in the wedding so we can't make it an adult only trip. Airfare from DSM (where we live) to Tuscon is over $500 a person. I've looked at flying into Phoenix (still over $450) and out of Omaha (2 hours away from us and still over $450.) I hope I get a ding rate out of Omaha for the six of us and I'll drive two hours to get us there. That's a chunk of change just for the airfare to get us there. Driving isn't an option as I have a limited time off of work.

It is a small world for sure. When we were getting on an elevator the people getting off lived on the same block as us...

Glad to know I wasn't the only one feeling the boat move on land...:lmao:
said something to hubby he said it was just my blonde kicking in.... one week since we have been home I am so ready to go again...:yay:

We are going again at the end of Sept next year. I was the lady who had the baby strapped to her hip at all times.

I'm hoping to have a vow renewal onboard late 2009 (waiting "patiently" for 2009 rates)

we won't be going again in Sept unless our school district changes their calendar. I can't keep taking the kids out of school for that long. I lvoed it, they loved it but had a hard time getting back into the swing of things.

Who else rebooked? who else from our cruise is waiting for 2009 rates.

We rebooked for 12/27/08 but want to shave a few dollars (thousand) by switching to the third week in March 09 (only if my children and I share spring break that year).
