Jenny! I love that picture too, it's just so cute!

I've got a couple of days left to review... maybe I'll get to them today.

Awesome report and your Max is adorable. You guys make a great team. :)
And I really like the fact that you took some time for yourself one evening. That's a hard thing for parents to do sometimes, but very essential.

Thanks, Max is definitely a little sweetie, but it's true that sometimes I just need to get away and do my own thing. He has always enjoyed school, daycare, and the kid's clubs on cruises, so I knew he'd love Simba's Cubhouse. When I got there to pick him up at the end of the night he was talking about "when I come back tomorrow" and I had to break it to him that it was the only night I'd planned on taking him there. At the beginning of the trip planning I thought I'd take him there two or three times, but he surprised me on this trip by finally getting brave and trying some of the bigger rides. He's always been really apprehensive about rides, so this was a real treat and there really wasn't much that I needed to go back for on my own.

DAY SEVEN – Friday, September 21, 2007
The Mara
2 CS Credits
Food: ****
Service: ****

Today we had another leisurely breakfast from the Mara on our balcony. I had the Breakfast Platter with Bacon (not the Bounty this time) and a PowerAde for later. I got Max the Kid’s Mickey Waffle Breakfast with Sausage and an Apple Juice. I don’t remember getting the extra drinks so I think I forgot about getting two breakfast beverages, oh well. I did get my mug of Coffee though! Breakfasts were great again.

Toy Story Pizza Planet

We decided to have lunch at Toy Story Pizza Planet Arcade since it was nearly 11:30 and the crowds were still low – plus we’ve got dining credits to burn! Max had the Woody’s Meal Deal: Pepperoni Pizza, Garden Salad, Coke and a Rice Crispy Treat. I had the Junkyard Meal Deal: Veggie Pizza, Garden Salad, Coke and a Sugar Cookie. I got to eat both salads because Max decided he doesn’t like salad… yeah, right. I ate half of my pizza (minus the crust) and it was pretty good – I was surprised. Max really liked the pizza, I was a little worried because he asked what the sprinkled herbs were on the top of the pizza – but he didn’t fuss at all and ate all of his pizza (minus the crust). We were given the huge sized cokes again… Max probably drank ¼ of his and I tried to finish mine. I told him he could pick two games to play when he was done eating, but he had to eat first. He had a good time and I was glad I set a limit from the start because the games can really add up – one of the games he picked was $1 to play… kind of ridiculous if you ask me!

The salads look horrible in this picture, but they weren't really that bad!

The Hollywood Brown Derby
2 Adult TS Credits/Kid’s Meal OOP
Food: ***
Service: ****

Tonight’s ADR is at The Hollywood Brown Derby, we got there just a few minute prior to our 6:30 ADR. We checked in and went to the restroom to clean up, Max was really dirty and sweaty from playing at the Honey I Shrunk The Kids Movie Set Adventure. When we got back to the restaurant lobby they were ready to seat us. I was pleased that we got a booth – the one next to where we sat last year. I let our server know that I was using the dining plan for myself, but that Max only had one credit left so I’d be paying cash for him, but that I’d lost my debit card and only had $8 cash. I discovered this while Max was playing and I was in quite a panic... I was hoping I didn't get it back after using it at Simba's Cubhouse the night before, but I was worried that it was completely lost - and the $8 was seriously all of the cash I had - and the debit card was the only other method of paying I had for the whole trip... yikes! She was very courteous and knew that I wouldn’t need the wine menu! Hahaha Max wouldn’t have wanted the appetizer and dessert anyway, and actually would’ve been happy to share my salmon with me – I was only able to eat half of it anyway. He wanted a Hot Dog though – which came with Potato Chips or French Fries – he ordered the Fries and Chocolate Milk. I have never, ever seen this kid eat fries like this, he usually doesn’t really eat them – maybe a couple, but he was inhaling them! I had to taste one because I figured they must be really good, and they really were perfect. He downed his Chocolate Milk quickly and ordered a refill, he drank half of that. He only took about two bites of the Hot Dog. I had the Blue Crab Cake, Grilled Atlantic Salmon over Mascarpone Polenta with Gorgonzola, Iced Tea (with two lemon wedges on their very own plate thankyouverymuch!) and the Double Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee with Dark Chocolate Dipped Biscotti. The Crab Cake was so good – even better than I’d remembered it, Max liked it to, but only had one bite. The Salmon was excellent – Max did have a good section of it. I had three bites of Crème Brulee and Max had one. Our server was surprised that I only ate half of my entrée and such a tiny amount of dessert – she said the dining plan was totally wasted on me! Oh well, it was all very good, and I only ate as much as I could. I think I was in such a panic over my debit card situation that I forgot all about taking pictures... I wish I had, this is my favorite restaurant and the presentations are really nice and the food is soooooo good here, and gorgeous too. Sorry I couldn't share... I wish I had them just to look at!!! hahaha

We got our mug of Hot Chocolate in the Mara again tonight. Always hits the spot!

Tomorrow is our last day at WDW... it always comes too soon, doesn't it? Coming up: Sunshine Seasons and the mad dash to use up our remaining Snack Credits at the Zawadi Marketplace.

Oops... sorry about that huge picture. I'm too lazy to go back and change it though!!! hahaha

DAY EIGHT – Saturday, September 22, 2007
Sunshine Seasons
2 CS Credits
Food: *****
Service: *****

It was almost 12:00 when we got off Soarin’ and I didn’t think we’d have enough time for our lunch at the Garden Grill – Max did want to have another character meal. I thought we might be able to still do it, but we’d really be pushing it for time. He agreed that we could just have lunch at Sunshine Seasons instead so we headed over there after letting the host at the Garden Grill know we wouldn’t be keeping our ADR – it wasn’t very busy for prime lunchtime. I got the Grilled Salmon with Kalamata Olive Pesto, with sides of Mashed Potatoes and Salad (you can pick any two side items). I had a Coke and the Strawberry Shortcake with it. This is probably my favorite counter service meal in all of WDW. The salmon is better than I'd ever expect from a CS restaurant, it is better than most of the salmon I've had on the buffets at WDW and better than the salmon I had at Le Cellier!!! The salad was very good and what can I say about the mashed potatoes??? I love 'em! The strawberry shortcake was sooooo good, it really hit the spot. Max opted for the little lunchbox, which contained an Uncrustables Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, Apple Sauce, Baby Carrots, and an Apple Juice Box. He got a Chocolate Pudding for Dessert. I converted his remaining table service credit to a counter service and used my last counter service credit too so we were finally at zero. When you convert the credit, you receive a voucher good for either two snacks, or a lanyard and pin. I checked out the pin/lanyard set on the way out of Epcot and I loved it so I took that option.

Zawadi Marketplace
5 Snack Credits
Food: ****
Service: ****

We went through the Zawadi Marketplace to use up our remaining snack credits before leaving WDW. I thought we either had one or two credits left. I let Max pick out one snack (which was some candy item I'd never let him get at home!) and when I looked at the receipt, we still had 4 more credits! I hurried up and grabbed a few more items: Large Bag of Cheetos, Sour Cherry Balls, Box of Entenmann’s Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Mint Chocolate Coins. It’s a good thing I got the pin/lanyard set with my table service to counter service conversion… I never would’ve been able to pick two additional snacks and then fit them into our bags!!!

I know we also paid OOP for a soda from one of the carts one day and we also used another of our snack credits on Bottled Water someplace, but I don’t remember where.

BRAVO WENDY!!
When are you returning to the world? This has been one of the best reviews I have seen in a while. I will love to see more from your next trip...next year maybe.:cool1:

Sadly, I don't have our next trip planned at this time... I wish! We are going to Disneyland in a month though, we go there quite a bit, but WDW is much farther and more expensive for us. I'm a single mom/student/part-time worker so we are POOR, but we love to travel so that is always what I choose to do with any "extra" funds (like tax refunds, working extra hours, etc.)

Thanks for reading and I'm glad you've enjoyed our reviews. Maybe we'll get back again next year... I'm dreaming of a holiday trip!!! ;)

It's so nice that you are able to take your extra funds and put it away so you can have nice trips with your son. You may be poor cash wise right now, but you and Max sure are rich with wonderful memories.

I enjoyed your trip report. I didn't even realize that it was a year old til just a minute ago.

Belinda

:thumbsup2 to being a single mom/student/part time worker. I'm in the same boat I have 3 but I sure wouldn't trade our time together for all the money in the world.

Thanks! We are actually looking forward to our December trip... I'm already preparing to do another review, and we'll be on the Deluxe Dining Plan so we'll have a LOT to review!!!

My kids and I enjoyed the dxddp when we went in February. We definitely don't eat like that at home vacation is definitely a hi light of the year.
